"Mixed Feelings about Assisted Living Experience"
I live here independently without nursing care or other services. I manage my own medications. The food is mostly good, though evenings sometimes lack in quality and service. The staff is usually friendly and helpful.

"Great First Impression!"
I was really impressed with my first visit to this assisted living facility! The lady who showed me around during the virtual tour was very kind, helpful, and knew a lot about the place. It's located close to where my daughter lives, which is perfect. The exercise room for physical therapy looked wonderful for my loved one. The whole place is beautiful, situated among avenues with lots of trees and near downtown. There are so many activities to do, which looked like a lot of fun! When we arrived, the staff who handles new residents, greeted us warmly and even provided lunch for everyone who moved in. They really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

"Friendly staff, good food, and overall happiness"
My loved one lives at Capitol Hill Senior Living, and things have been pretty good for her. The staff is super friendly, really nice, and helpful, especially since I live far away. They usually answer my questions quickly. My loved one is gaining weight, so the food must be good. Overall, she seems happy at Capitol Hill Senior Living.

"My “Healing Haven”"
I’m staying here for skilled nursing, and I feel so loved! The staff really cares about me and makes sure I get the care I need. If I ask for something, they go above and beyond to help. My room is big and has a great view! I’ve gained weight and my wounds are healing because I actually like the food. The aides treat me so well… thank you.

"Employees Nice but Uninformed, Poor Food, Clean Facility"
My grandpa stayed at this place for around a month before he died, so I only got to know it a bit. I noticed a couple of things during his stay. First off, the food really wasn't great. The people who worked there were kind and checked in on him, but they didn't seem to really understand what the residents needed. They did a fairly good job at keeping the place clean.

"Wonderful place with caring staff and great amenities"
My husband was in another place before coming to Brookdale for hip rehab, where he stayed for about six weeks. After hearing great things from friends, I chose Brookdale because it's close to me, making visits easy. The residents here are friendly and happy. Some might not respond or seem upset, but the staff is really kind and knows how to handle all situations. The place is always clean; they do the residents laundry, make beds each morning, do spot cleaning daily, and a thorough cleaning weekly. They also take everyone on fun trips, like to the planetarium, which my husband enjoyed. For the price, which is quite reasonable, you get a fantastic experience. I'm grateful Brookdale could take him in and would definitely recommend this community.

"Great place with a homey feel and friendly staff!"
We were really impressed by how clean Brookdale is. The Memory Care unit feels like home and doesn’t remind us of a hospital. The secure lawn and garden are well taken care of, and many residents were enjoying it. This will definitely be a place we think about if my mom's health declines. [Name] was very open when talking about the facility and answered all our questions. Thank you!

"Great Place for Seniors!"
My loved one's doing well since moving here. Staff's kind, punctual, and helpful with our questions. The open layout and amenities are nice for everyone. I'd suggest it to others, just not the best fit for my mom.

"Overwhelmingly Big Community!"
I didn't have any complaints about the tour I took at this community for my loved one. The staff were on time for our appointment and made sure to answer our questions in detail. The only issue I had was that my mother has memory loss, and I thought the larger facility might be a bit overwhelming for her.

"Fourteen Day Patient Stay: Therapy Top-Notch, Nursing Falls Short"
Received high-quality service from the rehab therapy team; PT, OT and Rec Therapy guys were on their game. Should've been able to expect the same quality care from the nursing staff, but that's another tale. While a few were top-notch, their approach to handling my pain didn't cut it. Despite needing prescribed meds, I only got Tylenol during daytime hours. Hard work in therapy led to tough nights filled with pain. Had at least three crying spells because of severe pain, which messed with my sleep. They told me I should've asked for my as-needed meds, but how was I to know which ones those were?

"Friendly Staff, Great Location, But Extra Service Costs!"
The assisted living facility itself was good with a friendly and polite staff. During my visit, I took a tour and the rooms were shown to me with a proper explanation of everything. The location of the facility was convenient, close to my loved ones which was nice. The issue for me was that they had additional costs for every single service they provided. Simple things like showering, taking medications, and taking part in certain activities, each had an added cost. Overall, it’s a good place but it gets quite costly in the end.

"Friendly and Well-Maintained Community"
My tour of this place was good. Everything looked clean and taken care of. The staff was kind and friendly. They gave me a lot of information and answered my questions. The tour was nice, but it just wasn't the right place for my dad.

"Suggestion List"
I think it would be helpful if they provided a list of what residents should bring. It can get confusing otherwise.

"Nice but Need More Staff"
The people who work here, like the nurses, are so nice. The therapists and doctors are good at their jobs. But, they don't have enough people working. My mother-in-law is always saying how long she has to wait to get help.

"Great Staff, Some Changes in Ownership"
The staff at Emeritus at Salt Lake City is awesome. I really like the people there. They recently got new owners (Emeritus is now owned by Brookdale) and there have been a few changes. Not all of them are good. The food isn't as good as before, and it takes longer for my mom to get her meal. But that's the only thing I think needs to get better. Overall, they are great and we are happy.

She was really professional, and the place was nice. It's downtown and feels like a hotel with four floors. It used to be a Marriott.

"Well-maintained, friendly first floor, pricey, limited medical staff."
The facility is well taken care of and the grounds are clean. The staff at the front desk and on the first floor are very friendly, but the staff on the fourth floor, the skilled nursing floor, don't even talk to you. My mom is on the first floor in the memory care unit, and they're pretty good. The Emeritus is more expensive than some other places we looked at. They have one doctor and one nurse, so I don't think they have enough medical staff.

"The Emeritus at Salt Lake is really nice"
The Emeritus at Salt Lake is really nice. It's very clean, the decorations are modern, and the food is great. My grandparents really like it here. The staff is super friendly. It's really expensive, maybe more than what we're getting, but that's okay. They have a nurse available every day for any care needs. There are lots of activities, but my grandparents haven't joined in yet since they're still settling in.
