"Unhappy Stay Due to Staff Behavior at Cedarwood"
I stayed at Cedarwood in Sandy for three months and was pretty unhappy. It seemed like the staff members were being mean to me.

"Facility Shifts: From Great to Drastic"
We chose this community because of its location, price, and memory care units. Initially good, but management changes and meal alterations were disliked. Security was lacking—people came and went unchecked. Overall, a drastic shift.

"Cozy Atmosphere with Fantastic Staff"
I think it has a cozy, friendly atmosphere. It's not too stiff and formal, which is great. The nurses and doctors are fantastic, especially with communication. If I ever have a question or concern, they get back to me quickly. Overall, the facility is very clean and nice. We are very happy with our choice.

"Great communication and caring staff at Cedarwood"
We chose Cedarwood at Sandy because it felt like the right place. We visited a few other places, but Cedarwood gave us the best feeling when we walked in. The CNAs and Med Techs were wonderful, and it was smart to build a positive relationship with them. It helped them see our family member as a person, and they were more likely to share important information with us. After we built those relationships, their communication was great. I highly recommend this facility to other families.

"Cedarwood Excels in Staff Friendliness and Amazing Food!"
We chose Cedarwood for our loved one because the staff is friendly and wonderful. The food is amazing—we’d rather eat there than at any other restaurant. They have a variety of options, including a lunch bistro with 15 different menu choices like pizzas, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, sandwiches, and tacos. The activities they offer are really good.

"Friendly and Welcoming Assisted Living Facility with Great Amenities"
This place might be the best yet. The tour was excellent, and everyone was super friendly. It was funny to see almost all the lady residents with new hairdos for the weekend, all smiling and looking great. I loved the grounds and the safe courtyard for both independent and assisted clients. Lunch or dinner is at noon, depending on where you’re from (we call it supper in Indiana). Residents were out and about, and everyone seemed to know each other. The rooms were well laid out, and the one-bedroom had really nice closets. The only downside for me was that the main heating unit is in the living area and is diverted through the wall to the bedroom. The activity areas were being remodeled but are large and will be nicely furnished. There’s a church available for everyone. They also have outings and bus service for shopping and doctor appointments, covering a large area. This place has been Best of State for four years in a row, and I can see why. The rates are in line with other nice facilities, maybe even less.

"Mom Loved It Here"
The staff were so nice, patient, and helpful. She had a one-bedroom apartment with a small patio. The food was really good, and she could also go to the independent side and eat whenever she wanted. They had lots of daily activities and music. Mom just passed away, and when I was getting her things, they told me how much they loved and missed her. Their personal touch was comforting. I would recommend this community to other families.

"Facility Fails to Provide Paid Additional Care for Mom"
This place is making me lose it! They initially barged in on mom in the restroom – didn't even knock! Talk about no privacy! Furthermore, we're shelling out an extra $500 monthly because mom requires extra assistance now. Our cousin drops by to see her, and sees her sitting in the pitch black, barefoot, surrounded by dirty diapers and trash on the countertop, and a terrible smell hovering in the room. When she gets someone to come clean it up, it's clear mom is hungry and needs help eating. She asked for a sandwich but, even an hour later, it never came. She then requested a yogurt and even after a second plea, she still had not gotten anything to eat when our cousin had to leave. We unfortunately live out of state and can't personally oversee everything. However, every time we call, we're just told everything's fine. We would give anything to move her from here!!!

"Mom Thrives in Welcoming, Active Community"
We picked this place because it's nice and the staff are friendly and answered all our questions. It's well-kept and clean, and they're fixing up the outside. The food tastes good, but they don't have enough staff, so she has to wait a long time for her food. The caregivers are kind and helpful. Mom has gone on drives and liked it. I'd suggest this place. She's active and there are lots of other active independent people here.

"Great care and happy residents!"
We are really happy with the care at this community. It's great that she likes the staff and the meals. There are activities for her to join with the other residents. We also notice that the other residents seem happy with their care. Based on our experience, we recommend this community to other families looking for care for a loved one.

"No Comparison to My Current Home"
The place looked clean, and the grounds were nice. The staff seemed friendly, maybe a bit too much toward the residents. It felt like they were doing too much for them. Personally, I prefer to do what I want when I want, without being told. That aspect was a turn-off for me. They do offer transportation, but the price wasn't as good as where I currently live.

"Decent Living Facility but with Cramped Bathrooms!"
My mom has been doing good since she moved. She's fitting in pretty well, and all the other people there seem happy too. The staff is really awesome. But if I had to say something bad it would be that the bathrooms are too small. My mom picked the place and she's just now starting to see it as a problem. The bathtubs are super tiny and I'd advise against anyone whose family member needs a large bathroom to pick this facility. Also, there’s some stuff they said they’d take care of that they haven’t yet. Besides these things, everyone's friendly and my mom's generally happy.

"Mixed feelings about this assisted living community"
My dad wasn't pleased with the meat here; it was overcooked and dry. The other food was alright, but they didn't have much fresh fruits and veggies. There weren't many activities to do. It felt like they kept raising the prices without improving the care. On the upside, the place was clean and looked after.

"Cedarwood is a wonderful place with caring staff!"
My mother-in-law moved to Atria in 2012, almost four years ago. She started in the independent living side and moved to assisted living in 2015. The staff and care she gets there are fantastic. We often eat in the dining room because the food is delicious. Every Sunday, they have an amazing buffet with fresh roasted turkey, prime rib, mashed potatoes, different gravies, several sides, and made-to-order omelets and waffles. It’s fabulous! Even though the facility is now called Cedarwood, the change has gone smoothly. We believe the care and service will stay great because of the loving staff. They make Cedarwood a wonderful place, and that’s why we keep our dear mother there. She loves many of the people, like Norma, Suzie, Brittany at the desk, Theresa, Bruce the maintenance guy, Lilly, Augustine, and many others. There are too many to name! I want to live there in the future; it’s that good.

"Mom loves it, and I want to live here!"
The staff here is amazing—always available, kind, and smiling. The food is good, and they have a Sunday brunch. There are plenty of activities, and Mom enjoys the Wii bowling. A doctor is on-site, and an eye doctor visits sometimes. I’d definitely recommend this place—I’d love to move here myself!

"Transition from Atria Sandy to Cedarwood at Sandy"
Our parents moved to Atria Sandy about 7 1/2 years ago from their home in E. Layton, Utah. The staff is always friendly, and the Director, Ron Gardner, was great to work with. My mom passed away, but soon after, my dad found a companion who enjoyed his company. The Engage Life department offers many different games and activities that appeal to almost all Independent and Assisted Living residents. Chef Derek has a great variety on the menu every day, and if residents want something else, they can choose from the Anytime Café menu. The Care Services team, including the Nurses and CNAs, are super efficient, meeting the residents’ needs as required. Housekeeping comes in weekly to wash towels and bed sheets and remake the bed. They do light cleaning, but it’s always clean when we visit Dad daily. The Front Desk Receptionists on both sides of the building always greet you when you arrive and even know us by name. They are the best! Recently, Atria was sold to Kisco Co., and Atria Sandy is now called Cedarwood at Sandy. It’s just a name change; the same people are still there, but Ron Gardner has left to stay with the Atria family. They are currently looking for a new Director. Nothing will really change in terms of services. It’s a great place for your parent or loved one to tour and maybe join this loving community of wonderful seniors.

"Always Great!"
This place is amazing with awesome staff! They always make you feel at home. They won the Best of State award for a reason. The food is always great, and the residents are happy when you visit. I’ve worked in senior care for many years and would recommend The Atria to everyone! They stay great even when staff changes. The administrators work hard to make their community shine above the rest!

"Great Staff, But My Mom Stayed Too Isolated"
I found everyone I met to be really friendly and helpful. The Atria staff went above and beyond to make sure my mother had everything she needed. I wish she had been more interested in leaving her room to explore and make new friends instead of staying in and organizing her things. I think she would have enjoyed her stay more, felt less lonely, and stayed longer. Then I would have been able to give you a better and more glowing review.

"Assisted Living Place Offers Great Services, Busy Location Drawback"
I really liked the many things they offer here, and there's always something to do for residents. The apartments are a bit small, but they do have a kitchenette with a stove and oven, which is nice. One downside is that a lot of the apartments look out onto big roads or busy streets.

"Bossy Director and Unimpressive Older Building"
The head person seemed kinda bossy. She sort-of hinted at not-so-great stuff about MBK, the company that runs The Wellington. I wasn't too thrilled about that. We visited this place last. It's an older building, and after checking out several places, you kinda get tired and start thinking, 'That's enough!' This place just seemed old and didn't wow us.

"Tidy Assisted Living Facility with Plenty of Amenities but Overpriced"
Extremely tidy place with lovely surroundings, pleasant apartments featuring all-inclusive kitchens, and a spacious area for laundry. They offer tons of different activities. The meals are alright and can be ordered at any time. There are too many people living here for her taste. The cost is slightly high for her liking, $2900 for a single bedroom and $3500 for a two-bedroom unit.
