This place is nice, friendly, and clean. Staff can be a bit short sometimes, but overall, it's good. Food is mostly adequate. I'd recommend it.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Unsettled Refund Issue Needs Resolution"
I wish I didn't have to write this review. We're grateful for all Coventry at Escalante did for my mom. We followed our agreement, paid on time without question despite price increases. Mom passed away on Dec 1st, and we returned the keys after cleaning out her apartment. According to our contract, we should get a refund for 15 days' rent since they charged for the whole month on Dec 1st. We've been asking for the refund and followed all requests from Frontier Management, the company in charge. But we haven't heard back since we submitted the necessary request. Sorting out this refund is the last thing we need to do for mom's estate. Please contact me or my sister, whose email you have, to resolve this. If it's sorted out quickly, I'll leave a positive review.

"Disappointing experience at assisted living facility"
The people working there seemed nice at first. The place looked good too. They made it seem like they really cared until my family member moved in. She went without a shower for over two weeks because she was told she didn't need one. Then she ended up in the hospital with a very serious urinary tract infection.

"Better meal options and care standards needed for residents"
The facility could improve by offering meals for people with special needs, like those who have dentures. Also, if a resident wants to eat in their room, there shouldn’t be an extra fee for delivering the meal. Lastly, only medical techs should take vital signs, especially for those in hospice care.

"Small Rooms Impact Experience"
Our family visited Escalante at Coventry for a tour. Overall, we liked the tour, but the rooms were too small for our loved one, so it wouldn't be a good fit.

"Limited Meal Variety, Otherwise Good Care"
The staff is friendly and professional. This small community provides individual support and care. The facilities are a bit old but well-maintained. The only concern is the limited variety of meals, which resemble school lunches with few fresh vegetables.

"Food Needs Improvement in Assisted Living Community"
This community is pretty good overall. I think they should work on the food in the memory care area—it arrives cold and doesn't taste great. If your loved one is in the assisted living area, there aren't any activities, and the food needs improvement too.

"Assisted Living Nightmare: Neglect and Disregard"
Escalante recently took over Coventry, and within just six months, they’ve turned what used to be a pleasant community into a disaster. Staff members are leaving left and right. The dining room no longer meets state regulations or nutritional standards. Management, at every level, ignores calls, breaks promises, and displays a complete lack of concern. When we raised our concerns with a high-level administrator, their response was essentially, “Contact the state if you’re unhappy.” The sole reason my family member remains there is her genuine connections with friends and a few caregivers. This publicly traded, profit-driven company prioritizes $$ over everything else.

"Good care but Covid and communication issues affected experience"
If it wasn’t for my mom catching Covid, I would give Coventry 5 stars for care. My mom had dementia and didn’t realize how sick she was. The staff said they would check her vitals often, but a week after she got sick, my daughter used a gadget to check her oxygen level and it was only 72, so we took her to the hospital. Because of Covid, no visitors could eat in the dining room, and since my mom had dementia, she couldn’t remember what she ate, so I don’t know if the food was good. They did bring her meals while she was sick, but she wasn’t eating anything. I wish the staff had communicated better with me when my mom was sick. I’ll tell my friends that Coventry was a good place for my mom.

"Cozy, Welcoming, and Spacious with Beautiful Outdoor Areas"
There are so many great things about Coventry! When you first walk in, it feels very cozy and homey. The staff is super kind and always greets you with a smile. I really like the location, right in the heart of the neighborhood. It’s close to shopping and other places, but still feels private and quiet. The best part is the apartments they’re charming and feel really open and spacious. When it’s warm outside, we love to visit my grandfather in the beautiful outdoor areas and patios.

"Clean, spacious Coventry facility lacks proper Alzheimer's patient care"
Coventry is a clean, spacious nursing facility with welcoming staff, but it is seriously lacking in its ability to manage active Alzheimer's patients. My mom, an Alzheimer's patient, is both curious and mobile, and this proved to be a problem. The residents are only allowed in the common TV/dining area or in their individual rooms. Coventry seems to only cater for patients who are immobile or have limited movement, not those like my mother who still enjoy roaming around. Silverado in Holladay is a far better option in this regard. Coventry is just not equipped to manage younger, sprightlier Alzheimer's patients. I witnessed first-hand how my mom got into offices and even the medicine room, all within an hour of my visit. My time there was filled with worry and concerns over her safety when I wasn't around. Physical barriers like half-doors should be installed to limit access to restricted areas, given that patients with Alzheimer's might not heed verbal warnings or instructions. The same issue was in their office where documents were within easy reach. Once again, there were no physical barriers to limit access to restricted spaces. Coventry could stand to learn a thing or two from Silverado about managing active Alzheimer's patients. On the brighter side, Coventry is clean with a new building, large rooms, and quite friendly staff. The food is acceptable as well. However, its disadvantage far outweigh the pros. Active Alzheimer's patients' care calls for more training for their staff. They lack half-doors, there are insufficient activities for geriatric patients, and there's no furniture provided in the rooms, which means added expense and hassle for families. Hidden fees is another letdown. Overall, I would not recommend Coventry for active Alzheimer's patients.
