"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living: Staff Caring but Communication Lacking"
I found the staff to be kind and caring, though they seemed understaffed like many places. Unfortunately, my mom had several falls while there, one landing her in the hospital. After that, we moved her to memory care for more attention. During her stay, the facility changed ownership, which was not communicated during my initial tour and paperwork, which bothered me. Sadly, my mom passed away shortly after the new owners took over, and we never received a condolence card or call. Despite these issues, I appreciate the good care provided by the CNAs amidst the changes. I hope the new owners can improve the situation.

""Lack of Care and Communication at Assisted Living Facility""
I've got several complaints. First, I notice that they never have activities for the memory care residents. Instead, they're always in front of the TV when I visit my loved one. Plus, the Certified Nursing Assistants are on their phones, ignoring the residents. They're slumped over, asleep or just watching TV. Also, the CNAs there don't speak English. It's not a problem generally, but how can they care for my family member with dementia if there's a language barrier? I waited 20 minutes just to use a translation app and it didn't improve things. We're now looking for a better place that can provide proper care for our loved one.

"Poor handling of residents makes us search for new home"
Seeking a New Home for Grandma Due to Poor Care. They had local doctors work with my loved one who has memory problems, but it seemed like their goal was just to give her enough medication to knock her out, so she'd be easier for them to deal with. My wife got worried about some bruises on another resident. But when she said something about it, they got mad and accused her of pulling my loved one's hair. Then they banned my wife from the property. Whenever we try to call, the phone at the place is just awful and we can't hear my loved one on the line at all.

"Mixed Feelings on Escalante at Willow Creek"
My family went to check out Escalante at Willow Creek. It looked good in pictures and the stuff we read about it. But during the tour, we didn't feel like it was the right fit for us. It was okay, but a lot of the people living there didn't seem very happy or cheerful like we expected. We're not sure what the problem was, maybe just a bad day, but we decided not to pick this place for our loved one.

"Terrible Experience, Overpriced and Understaffed"
This place is just awful! We had big problems with the cost and how little we got for our money. It didn't meet any of our hopes or needs. It was honestly our worst experience and we wouldn't tell anyone else to go here. Everything just went downhill. Plus, they didn't have any regular staff, just temporary and outside hired workers.

"Poor care and lost items; not recommended."
I don't suggest them. Lost dentures, fed cleaner, misplaced hearing aids. Care not as promised.

"Great care and friendly staff, food adjusted for dentures"
This is a great place, and my loved one gets excellent care here. The staff are very friendly to both my loved one and my family. The food is decent, and even though my loved one has trouble eating with dentures, the community makes sure he has food he can eat.

"Assisted Living with Friendly Staff and Good Food, Room for Improvement"
The staff is nice and welcoming. I go there every day, and they are open to me being there and answering my questions. Right now, they are going through changes with staff leaving in many areas. So there have been some issues, but I believe they will get back to the level they were when we first came. I chose The Wentworth of Willow Creek because everyone is so friendly. The staff really tries, and that makes a big difference. The food is good. They try to offer different kinds, and it has flavor, which is good. It's not just regular cafeteria food. Activities are one of the areas affected by staff changes. They lost their activities leader, so there have been almost no activities because they don't have enough staff. But I would say the cost is about the same as what everyone else charges in the area.

"“Good Assisted Living Facility Near Us”"
Other places might be better, but it depends on your budget. We like this facility because it’s close to us. The rooms are a good size, and my loved one enjoys the food. I’d recommend this community to others.

"Incompetent Assisted Living Facility Cannot Cope with Alzheimer's"
I feel obligated to warn others about the downright unprofessional way this place operates. My dad has been living here for a month and a half. In just two weeks, they sent a text telling us to come get our dad because they couldn't deal with his Alzheimer's behavior. He was trying to escape from his room window and even found a way to unlock their secure door. They gave no help in finding a new place. The choice to put a parent in a home is tough, and I think everyone needs to know what we went through to avoid similar issues. This is made even harder by COVID testing requirements during the pandemic.

"Struggling, Assisted Living Facility Emerges with New Changes"
We picked this living place for my mom because she had a friend living there and we hoped it would be decent. At first, it was tough, but things are slowly getting better, so we're waiting for them to smooth out the management issues. In the start, her medications were off, and given at wrong times. Now they have a completely new crew who are trying to fix the issues. The caregivers are understanding and supportive. The food is alright, with a new cook making it taste better. Mom enjoys the events, lots of music and an entertaining performance by The Clogging Grandmas. I feel like we're all finally on the same page and mom seems content. I still wouldn't suggest this place to others, though.' .

"Great respite stay for mom"
My mom stayed at The Wentworth of Willow Creek for a week and I’d definitely have her stay there again. The staff was super friendly, caring, and attentive. They made sure she took her medication on time and she ate better than ever. She had her own lovely room with a view. Her quality of life improved with all the people around her and plenty of chances to socialize. She went on a bus tour to Salt Lake City, enjoyed movie nights, and attended a church service. The community has lots of patios and a beautiful park next door with a pond and turtles. The cost was very reasonable for the great care she received. I highly recommend this place to friends and family.

"A tour with caring staff"
We visited this community for my mom's care. The staff was friendly and answered all our questions about the available care. They have fun activities, and we liked that the place looked clean. We suggest other families take a tour of this community for their loved ones' care.

"Nowhere better!"
My grandmother Lilly lived here for over 3 years before she passed, and the staff was always friendly, caring, and knew what they were doing. She loved her room, which was always clean and big enough to feel like home. The food and activities were her favorite! We had a lot of fun at family dinners and parties. There was always something happening to keep her busy, and the staff made sure she was involved every day. I couldn’t have asked for a better place or better care for her than at the Wentworth. Thanks for everything you’ve done for us!

"Mixed Feelings About Wentworth Assisted Living Facility"
My wife's stay at Wentworth was just okay. They tried to care for her, but I think she needs more attention than they can give. I'm considering bringing her home so I can care for her myself. I wish they served healthier food; what they have is too starchy for her. The community has its ups and downs, and the staff was alright overall.

"Great services, friendly staff, and fun activities!"
I am really happy with the services and the place overall. Everyone who works here is very nice and professional. I enjoy the activities, and all the ones I have attended so far have been a lot of fun. I haven’t gone to all of them, but the ones I did were just great! I am very pleased with them.

"Challenging Start, But Overall Nice Place"
They had a fire in one of the dryers, which caused water damage. Coincidentally, this happened right across from where my mom is staying. So, it's been a bit rough.

"Friendly Staff, Average Facilities: More Expensive than Utah County"
The staff was super friendly, but the place just didn't look and feel as good as the other assisted living places we saw in Salt Lake City. It costs less than the others in Salt Lake, but is more expensive compared to those in Utah County.

"Charming Director, Assigned Seats at Meals"
The assisted living facility had assigned seats during meals to prevent small disagreements. I used to assist seniors, and sometimes they could be a bit irritable with each other. So, to avoid that, they implemented assigned seating. However, where my parents went, there was no assigned seating, and they found it to be better. They made more friends that way. The building's structure didn't resonate with my mom. It felt a bit closed off and dark. On the bright side, the director was so charming that you almost wanted to visit just for her!

The rooms were nice, clean, and spacious. The center felt homey, and Mom liked it better. I enjoyed the outdoor space with the pond, turtles, and fish. The gardening area was great, and there was plenty of safe outdoor space, even in the memory care area. The dining room was small and smelled like a cafeteria, but it wasn't terrible. I appreciated the emergency pull stations in the bathrooms and the pendant that pages a nurse. The spa area and salon were also highlights. Plus, it was convenient being so close. The staff was amazing and caring. Best of all, if Mom needed more care, we wouldn't have to move her out just to a new room with the same staff and building.
