"Miscommunication and High Prices mar first Arbor Terrace Tour"
To start, Arbor Terrace didn't know about the tour I arranged on this website. chatted with me nicely, talking about the facility and stable care provided. A lot of the staff have been at Arbor Terrace for a long time. We talked about the cost and the conversation took a sour turn. The moment she heard about my Mom's assets and monthly income, the 'tour' ended. She straightforwardly told me that my Mom couldn't afford Arbor Terrace and suggested other places nearby. This was my first tour and I was crushed. Oh, and I didn't get to see anything except the front desk.

"Nice but stern place; tiny rooms; clean; friendly staff and residents"
Nice looking place, but a bit too serious and strict. Didn't see many residents hanging out in the shared spaces early in the afternoon. The place is clean, and the staff and residents we met seemed nice. The rooms for residents, though, are really tiny.

"So far, so good..."
I haven't been to Arbor Terrace myself, but my three brothers believed it would be the best place for our dad. From what I've heard, he's doing really well there. He likes his apartment, the food, and the environment. I hope to visit him soon.

"Wonderful staff and updated facility with engaging activities!"
My mom was in memory care, and my dad was in assisted living. The staff is amazing and really cares about the residents. The facility recently got a big update and now looks modern and cozy. My dad, who never joined activities before, is now getting involved!

"Amazing Place with Great Staff and Activities"
Arbor Terrace Sudley Manor has been amazing. We’ve been really happy with this place. My dad, who usually doesn’t join in activities, has been participating here. The staff are super responsive and get back to me quickly whenever I need something. I’m really pleased with this facility.

"Nice Assisted Living Experience"
Arbor Terrace has been great overall! The place is clean, and the staff are friendly. The food is good too—I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars. The only thing they could improve is communication between shifts.

"Disappointed with Sudley Assisted Living: Lack of Care Concern"
Sudley Assisted Living didn't meet expectations. Compared to other places, like Manassas Health and Rehab and Burke Health and Rehab, Sudley seemed great at first. But when my mom fell and broke her hip, they didn't seem too worried. After surgery, they sent her to Burke, where she ended up with seven wounds and had to go to Fairfax INOVA Hospital. We asked Sudley to take her back since we were still paying for her room, but they said she needed more care than they could provide. Even patients in the Memory Care were in worse shape than Mom. We trusted them when they promised to take care of Mom no matter what, but they let us down. Mom passed away four months after leaving Sudley. My sister and I were there for her every day, and we learned that family must always be there to protect their loved ones. We didn't realize how much Memory Care places need caring and loving people. Mom's story goes beyond this, but we'll always cherish her. Thanks for caring.

"Disliked Shift in Energetic Tone - This Facility fell short."
Absolutely disliked the place. It had a pee smell and everyone seemed miserable. The place was not welcoming at all.

"Cozy Place with Room for Improvement"
Overall, I like SMH. The place looks nice, and the food is good. My mom has been there for a week, but I'm still not sure about her daily care. She doesn't remember much about the caregivers. The head nurse is very professional, though, and I think things will turn out well. The fees are reasonable, and I appreciate not getting charged extra for more meds. I do wish the activities were more interesting—mostly games, not enough discussion groups or book clubs.

"Seemed like a nice place but no memory guard"
It was a really nice place with a super friendly staff. Unfortunately, they didn't have the wander guard system, so we had to cross them off our list. Even though it seemed good overall, it lacked the security systems we were hoping for.

"Excellent Care and Thoughtful Staff Make a Big Difference"
I'm not happy with the laundry service because some of my mom's clothes went missing and they don't hang them up. We talked to them about it, so I'm sure it will be fixed soon. But I’m very happy with the care aides. They went above and beyond for my mom’s birthday, bringing a cake and everything for our family and friends. Overall, it's been a good experience, and she’s getting great care.

"Great Activities and Clean Facility, Minor Medication Issues"
Everything is going pretty well. The only problem I’ve had is some confusion about her medicine. Sometimes they either don’t give her a certain medication or they give it to her too often. I’ve managed to sort it out, but I wish I could handle her medication myself because I feel like I’m not in control. The place is very clean and smells nice. They offer lots of activities like trips, day outings, bingo, and crafts, so there’s always something for her to do. Her room is a bit smaller, but she has more activities now. This facility was also the most affordable option in the area when I was searching.

"Great place, highly recommended, but no openings available"
I heard great things about this place from friends, and it seemed really nice. They didn’t have any openings when I visited, so I couldn’t stay long. I did get a tour, and it was smaller than Potomac Place but had lots of activities. It was close to my home, which would have been great. It was very clean, and the dining room looked nice. If there had been availability, the high recommendations I got from others would have made it a top choice.

"Concerns About Sister's Care at Assisted Living Facility"
My sister really likes it there. But I'm worried because her legs are swelling up, and I don't know if they're doing anything about it. I wanted her to get physical therapy, but I haven't seen any happening. She enjoys the staff and the food. It's also $500 cheaper than before.

"Sudley Manor House is amazing!"
Every time I visit, the staff is super friendly and outgoing. Rachel, the Marketing Director, was also very friendly and helpful, giving us multiple tours before we made our final decision. Everything has met our expectations, and they provide the care they promise. I can't say enough good things about Sudley Manor House and would recommend it to anyone looking for a caring and engaged staff and home for their loved ones.

"Great Assisted Living Facility for Dad, but a Bit Pricey"
This place was awesome! It was just what I needed for my dad. It was super clean, and the location was great for our family and my dad's doctor visits. They even gave us really good info on how to get help with VA benefits. I liked that they had both assisted living and memory care in the same place, and they were really helpful when I wanted to try California first and use the VA as a last option. They even offer a service to move furniture and stuff into the place, which is cool, but it's a little expensive. Overall, though, it's a great spot for Dad!

"Lacks Interaction, but Clean and Friendly"
There aren't many people in the shared spaces. The smaller areas don't encourage residents to chat much. However, the place is neat and tidy. The staff is nice and cheerful.

"Impressed with Sudley Manor"
My husband and I were really impressed with Sudley Manor. The staff is super friendly and works well with the residents. They gave us complete and helpful information. Our experience was nice overall. We were surprised to learn about the nonrefundable deposit required upon acceptance. Also, the details about what happens if my Mom's condition worsens were a bit unclear. Still, it was a very good experience.

"Top-notch Assisted Living: Comfortable, Spacious, and Delicious!"
The Sudley Manor House is run very well and looks impressive. The rooms are big and kept nicely. The Dining Room is huge, with lots of room between tables, making it easy for people in wheelchairs to move around. The food is the best compared to other assisted living places, according to the people I talked to who live there. The residents I saw seemed happy and comfy living there. I would think about choosing The Sudley Manor House for my Mom after visiting again.

"Paid a Visit, Handy Location, Lots of Common Areas, Affordable"
Went by to check it out. It's pretty handy, right behind Kmart. The elementary school, day-care, and fire station are straight across the street. There's a bunch of places to hang out. Sort of smells like a hospital. The rooms are tiny. But it doesn't cost much. It's owned by an individual, not a big company.

"Nice rooms, fewer staff, comprehensive care."
Rooms are a good size. There are fewer staff members for each resident, but the place feels open and easy to manage. Outside, there's a nice walking area with direct access for Alzheimer's patients. The cost covers all care and even includes rides to the doctor's office. Alzheimer's patients can visit with the Assisted Living residents.
