"A Cozy Alternative with Mixed Staff and Food Quality"
Like any other place, visit often and pay attention. Talk to residents and families, listen to your loved ones, and stay involved. Avalon offers a great alternative to nursing homes. The setup is cozy, surrounded by personal belongings. Staff is trained but sometimes distant, lacking the warmth we expect for our loved ones. Food quality varies.

"Peaceful Home with Great Staff and Tasty Meals"
My mom lives in another Avalon home, and she's happy and well-cared for. I really appreciate the friendly staff, especially the two staff members who live here. We're fortunate to have this home—it's peaceful and not all about business. Plus, the home-cooked meals are a big bonus!

"A Safe, Simple Choice"
Usually, it’s easy to find out about this place because the doors are open. But due to COVID, they’re currently closed. Overall, it’s clean, safe, and a good deal. If your loved one doesn’t need all the fancy extras, it’s a great choice.

"Mixed Feelings About Group Home"
When thinking about a group home, it really depends on what you want. My mom wouldn't have liked it. There were four people sharing one bathroom. But the building was new. It had a nice view and a new kitchen. It seemed like a nice house. They said they could give a lot of care there. But it worried me that only two people lived there full time to take care of 6-7 seniors.

"Nice community, but too small for our needs"
This community was nice, but it was smaller than we wanted.

"Inconsistent Staff, Mixed Experiences Across Avalon House Locations"
If you're checking out Avalon House, remember they have different spots around. Make sure to visit each one nearby. Staff quality differs at each spot. Unfortunately, our family didn't have a good time here.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short in Comfort and Activities"
This place is in a fancy area in Great Falls, but it's not great. The layout of the house is weird. The downstairs part with two bedrooms can only be reached by a chair that goes up. You can't even go outside to the lower deck because it's blocked off and there's a steep drop. Upstairs is small - only one person can sit comfortably in the living room, and the bedrooms are on the sides. The kitchen and dining area are cramped too. There's nothing fun to do here - people have to go to a center run by the government. It's way too expensive for what you get - $4,500 is way too much.

"Friendly Staff and Clean House with Beautiful Views"
This place is a pretty house nestled in McLean's forests. The sunroom's got glass all around it and residents can see lots of big trees, the sky, birds, and squirrels from there. The staff was super friendly and happily showed us around the whole place. The house is well-kept and super clean. It's totally safe and the residents each have their own bedroom, but they do share the bathrooms. It really felt like a home.

"Avalon House: A Wonderful Experience"
I really liked everything about Avalon House. The owner, staff, houses, and caregivers were all great. They treat people with respect, which is excellent. After looking at many other places, we chose Avalon House for our loved one, and it turned out to be perfect. Sadly, our loved one was only there for a week before passing away, but her experience during that time was wonderful.
