"Staff Treat Us Like Family"
Most of the staff make us feel like family. They talk to us a lot and really care about my family member's well-being. They're also great at including us in his care plan.

"Friendly Tour, Facility Felt Outdated"
Our family visited Brookdale Lake Ridge for a tour. The guide was really nice, but the place looked kind of old and wasn’t as lively or cheerful as the other community we saw.

"Good Place for Pets and Specials"
When we visited, the community seemed nice. They charge a fee for pets and another place had a deal for us.

"Impressed by tour, high care costs deterred family"
We toured in person and were impressed despite the older look. Staff was great, but care cost was too high for us.

"Cozy Setting, Slightly Diminished"
Our family visited in person and the tour was nice. However, it seemed a bit too small and somewhat dingy to us.

"Mixed Experience with Care and Billing Issues at Brookdale"
I know my loved one has special needs for his care. We moved to Brookdale because they said they could handle his needs, but they couldn't. At first, I had to visit often to make sure he was properly cared for. I even had to help the nurses and staff myself. They need better weekend staff because sometimes my loved one wasn't changed out of night clothes or properly cleaned. The medical equipment and supplies I brought were often leaking, missing, or damaged. Good caregivers are hard to find, but by now, they should know what to do. Thanks to my visits and requests, the care got better. They now have the same nurses and staff for him, but I still have concerns. I advise others to keep an eye on things. I am looking for another community because of an issue with the billing department. When we moved in, they said our payment would be automatic. After a few months, I asked why it wasn't deducted yet and was told it takes time. Then, I got a letter saying my account was past due with a late fee if not paid soon. I had to get a cashier's check to pay. Even after that, they said my account was past due with the wrong balance. I contacted their corporate office, and they found my payment and fixed it. But my account is still behind because they didn't process the automatic payment. Their billing department is unorganized and doesn't communicate well. I was willing to work with the care issues, but the billing mix-up was unacceptable. I like the nursing staff I've met. The staff in sales was great, and the concierges were nice too. But there are some problems with having my loved one here, and I'm not happy with how they handled my account.

"Lacks Interaction and Stimulation"
Our family visited this assisted living facility in person. It's older, but the staff we met were friendly. However, it didn't feel engaging; staff mostly wheeled residents to the lobby without much interaction. It wasn't very personal.

"Comfortable and well-staffed assisted living with ample resources"
We haven't tried the meals ourselves, but our loved one seems healthy and well-fed. We appreciate that Brookdale offers many resources and has plenty of staff onsite. They provide enough resources onsite so we don't have to go to many places offsite. It's not too big, and still feels like a comfortable home.

"Great care, minor issues with medication and visitor restrictions"
We didn't give Brookdale a perfect 5 stars because we're having some problems with our loved one’s medication being sent to the wrong pharmacy. We think it’s just a mix-up in communication, and they're working on fixing it. For Mother's Day, they had a nice get-together, and we enjoy sitting outside when the weather is good. When we visit, we see a lot of activities in the main social areas, but not much on the memory care side. Our loved one gets plenty of physical therapy and the staff seems to really like him. For Father's Day, they initially allowed only two visitors, but we asked if we could do a window visit so I and our three sons could come. Instead of a window visit, they set up a special area in the courtyard where our loved one sat across from us, and we were able to have seven people there. They were very accommodating, and we appreciated that.

"Fun Activities, but Not the Best Care for Our Family"
Before the pandemic hit, this place had fun game nights and took folks out to shop every week. They even had live shows and church on Sundays. Our family member stayed there for around a month and a half. Sadly, they just didn’t have what it takes to take good care of him.

"Pleasant Staff, But Costly and Dismissive"
The place was neat, and folks were busy with a fun activity when I got there. It seemed like they didn’t really pay me much mind after I mentioned we needed a short-term stay. I wanted to see more of the place, so they introduced me to the person in charge of activities, who was super nice. Still, it’s just too expensive.

"Great care and engagement for loved ones needing extra support."
This place is really good. The people who work here pay attention to each person. They took the time to understand my mom and how to help her. It's neat and tidy. The food is alright, not fancy, but it works. If my mom doesn't want to eat, they make sure she gets something like Ensure. They encourage her to join the activities they have every day. If someone needs a lot of help, this is a good place to be. I would suggest this community for someone who needs help remembering things or who needs a bit more care.

"My New Home"
I've been doing well in my new community. While I haven't participated in all the activities they offer, I do play bingo occasionally. The lunches are very good, and most of the time, the food is enjoyable. The staff members are helpful and kind.

"Great Place for Loved Ones"
My husband really enjoys living here, and it suits him well. The staff is nice and keeps things organized. He seems to enjoy the food, and I haven't heard any complaints, so I think it's pretty good. The place doesn't have any bad smells, it's clean, and the housekeeping staff does a good job. I'd suggest this place to other people.

"Caring Staff Makes Residents and Families Feel Valued"
The people who work here are really nice. They talk to both the people who live here and their families very nicely. They always let me know what's happening. They are really good at helping the people who live here and their families to make sure they feel comfortable and well taken care of. Everybody who works here, from the people who help with care to the ones who cook to the boss, all really care about the people who live here and their families.

"Emeritus in Lake Ridge review"
Emeritus in Lake Ridge has been a huge help to my family. They've given us lots of support and info during this tough time. Right from the start, the whole staff has been super friendly and helpful. They're really great with all the residents. Plus, the food is tasty and served just like at a restaurant. And their location is perfect for us.

"Caring Staff and Good Communication!"
So far, things at Emeritus at Lake Ridge have been good. The staff are really friendly, and they're good at keeping families informed about their residents. They always call me if something changes, which I like. They could improve a bit on cleaning the common areas more often, though. Those areas often look like they need vacuuming. But the residents' rooms are always kept neat and tidy.

"Assisted Living Facility Provides Excellent Care and Support"
This place is really nice. The people who take care of everyone there are really good at their jobs. They have plenty of things for everyone to do, even if my family member doesn’t do a lot of activities. Since we started dealing with them, they’ve been super helpful. The staff is amazing. They help my wife a lot with her medicine and other things.

"Considering Relocation: Concerns About Assisted Living Facility"
My dad stays in the Rose Garden unit in the basement near the kitchen, which I don't like. The activities are few, and I think there aren't enough staff for all the residents. Even though some residents can't do much, they still need some activity, not just sitting around all the time. He's fallen a couple of times, and I don't think he's watched properly, especially for what we pay. I talk to the managers a lot, but not much changes. I'm thinking of moving him to another place.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
It's an older place that needs some fixing up both inside and outside. The parking lot is really bad. They need to do some renovations. The decorations in the memory care unit are dark, and there are no windows outside, so it feels like a dungeon. When you go for a tour, ask lots of questions and make sure you see the areas you'll actually be using. It doesn't seem like they're putting much thought into the food for the memory care section. They do accommodate residents based on their needs, though.

"Uncomfortable experience with alarming staff shortage"
This place wasn't good at all and really let me down. It seemed like they didn't have enough workers available, especially on the weekend. The residents were just sort of aimlessly lingering around. I felt really uneasy and did not enjoy my experience.
