"Issues with stove and rent increase overshadow friendly staff and food quality."
The staff are really nice. Food's great. But, stove's blocking a drawer. Rent increased, might not afford it now.

"Overall, recommend with caution."
We picked Brookdale Chambrel Williamsburg because they were nice and close to family. But they don't always tell us about care stuff unless we ask. Prices went up, and they changed what we need to do since we moved in. The staff is good, but we've had some problems. Overall, I'd recommend them, but be careful.

"Disappointing Care at Assisted Living Facility"
The place is decently clean and some of the folks here are real nice. However, some others can be quite mean. The care services here aren't all that. They're not doing everything they're supposed to. The meals aren't top quality and there have been a few instances where my special person isn't always looking their best or getting regular showers. It's hard to get a hold of staff and the higher-ups don't always call back quickly. All in all, I don't think I'd tell anyone to bring their loved ones here.

"Don't Recommend Facility for Memory Care; Neglect and Miscommunication"
My family member stayed in this place, but I wouldn't suggest it. Although the compound was quite stunning, the part designed for memory care wasn't impressive. I recall visiting once and finding him wandering the halls disoriented. One staff person seemed irritated and kept shouting my relative's room number at him. It was apparent that he was lost and bewildered. In another instance, we returned from a trip and brought him back, only for the staff to be surprised. They didn't even realize that he was missing! One person even expressed this outright. I don't advise this place for memory care. However, they switched up their management just after we left, so maybe circumstances are better now.

"Stay Involved for Best Care at Brookdale"
Brookdale is a great place if you stay involved. If not, the care is still good, but little problems might worry you. They don’t communicate unless you ask, and even then, it's not consistent. I've had calls about crises but then heard nothing for 48 hours. I once had to talk to the director because of this. If you move your parent(s) here, stay involved in their care. No one will care for your loved one like you do. You'll expect a certain level of care that you might not get unless you insist on it. Don't think it will be perfect because it won't be. I love Brookdale, but with 300+ residents, it's hard for your loved one to get 1-on-1 care. It's a good place, very clean, with nice staff, great food, and lots of good nurses and caregivers. Just stay involved, or you won't be satisfied.

"Aging Facility with Caring Staff Needs Renovation"
The folks and workers here are nice, mostly. This place is old and needs more room. I stayed in a cottage with a kitchen straight out of the 1950s. I left because they raised the price without improving the service.

"Friendly staff, but communication needs improvement."
I believe the Brookdale staff did well helping my dad settle in and manage his medications. They were very friendly, but my dad is returning home. The only issue is communication – when he visits home, they send his meds together, which can be a hassle.

"Disappointed With No Response From Local Assisted Living Facility"
I was bummed out because no one responded to my questions. I liked this place a lot cause it was near my house. I could just drop by anytime, maybe grab a tea, or play Scrabble. Haven’t heard back from anyone else either. Can't really vouch for a place that seems too busy to return calls. Makes me worry about what else they might neglect.

"Brookdale Wmsbg is Exceptional"
My aunt lives at Brookdale Williamsburg. She’s 93 and has dementia, so she can’t move around on her own. With very little family support, the staff goes above and beyond to take great care of her. The nurses, aides, food staff, and other services create a caring and consistent environment. They willingly provide extra assistance for her needs, ensuring she eats well, stays clean, and participates in activities. Brookdale Williamsburg truly has a caring and attentive staff.

"Four Stars"
I think they could do better with the info they give new residents. We moved in on the day of the monthly new resident meeting, so we missed it. Since we’ve only been here ten days, we still have 2 weeks until the next one. There are things we’d like to know. Also, more food variety would be nice.

"Andrea Hudgins: Friendly and Knowledgeable"
The staff was friendly, helpful, and knew a lot about the community. She suggested the cottage homes for my level of independence. Considering this property further. .

"My Visit to the Community: Friendly, clean, but too much walking."
This community seemed nice when I visited. The people were friendly, and the place was clean. However, things were on different floors, and there was a lot of walking. This layout wouldn't work for us.

"Nice Assisted Living with Some Limitations"
This place is really nice. It would be great for her, but it's not a 'age in place' facility. There are only 52 assisted living and independent residents, and the price is reasonable.
