Cave Spring Place

"Convenient Virtual Tour; Prefer Independent Living; Gracious Staff; Adequate Facility."
I did a Zoom tour of the place 'cause of my schedule. Saved me hours of driving. Didn't rate everything 'cause I wasn't there in person. Had to pick "assisted living" for the form. I really need more space, more like for independent living. The place seemed okay on Zoom, and the staff was nice and answered all my questions. Thanks!

"Convenient Assisted Living with Nice Rooms"
We picked Cave Spring Place because it's convenient and affordable. The rooms are really nice. The only issue is getting in and out—the locked front door can be a hassle. Still, I'd recommend this place to other families.

"Better Care Elsewhere"
Our family took an in-person tour, and it was great. The lady was lovely. However, another community better met our loved one's care needs.

"Small rooms, big price."
I talked to them on the phone. The rooms are too tiny for what they cost, and it's beyond our budget.

"Friendly care and clean, but meals need improvement"
The place is really clean, and the caregivers are great and friendly. The activities are getting better, but the meals need some work. The menu says you can choose between two options, but you can only eat what they serve or nothing at all.

"Caring Home with Fun Activities Needs Family Input"
The folks here really mean it when they look after everyone. But sometimes, they need the family to say something if they want extra care. They've got cool stuff like memory games and art projects to keep everyone busy and happy.

"Expensive ALF with fewer amenities, but a nice visit"
This ALF is pricier than my current one and offers fewer amenities. I sensed hesitation when asking questions, like the monthly rate, which was given as a daily amount. Despite the high cost, I appreciated the chance to visit this nice community.

"Great Staff Ratio and Flexible Care Levels with Room Stability"
I was really impressed with how many staff members there were compared to the residents. The facility is well-organized, and it's great that they offer different levels of care. You can move to higher care levels without having to change rooms.

"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
My uncle stayed there for just 10 days. Unfortunately, he had a fall, broke his hip, and got a subdural hematoma. He had to move to a nursing home afterward. The cost for this move was extremely high. We wish we had chosen a nursing facility from the start.

"Cave Spring Place: Compassionate care and beautiful remodel"
Cave Spring Place has really improved! The nursing director does a great job taking care of the residents. You can see the compassion and humility here. They're almost done with the remodel, and it looks amazing! Don't wait to visit Cave Spring Place.

"Friendly Staff and Healthy Options at Clean Community"
We visited this community and were impressed. The staff was very friendly, and the activities seemed perfect for my mom. We also liked that the menu has lots of healthy meal options. The place was clean and well-maintained. We recommend other families check out this nice community for their loved ones.

""New Management, Disappointing Changes""
Ever since new management took over this place, things just aren't the same. The food is really bad and gross. On the bright side, the place stays pretty clean. But the staff need to do better in taking care of my dad.

"Disappointed by rush tour!"
When I visited Cave Spring Place, I felt let down. My tour was in the evening, so the person in charge had one of the staff, who I think was a nurse, show me around instead. She didn't seem to know a lot about the place itself and our tour was super short.

"Worth Considering!"
I think this place takes good care of my mom. The staff is super friendly and always cheers her up. They have lots of fun activities every day. Mom isn't a fan of the food, though. But overall, it's a clean and well-kept community. I'd say it's worth recommending.

"One-Level Comfort and Friendly Staff"
I really liked this community because it’s all on one level. My family member could get around easily without needing to use an elevator. The staff was super friendly during our visit, and everything was very clean.

"One Story Building, Packed Common Area"
Looking Around this Community was alright. The room they showed us was nice, and the fact that it was a single-story building was a plus in my book. However, the common area where people hang out seemed too packed. The workers were all nice and friendly. It's a good place, but it just doesn't meet my mom's needs.

"Good start in new life in Virginia"
My brother moved to Brookdale Cave Spring two days ago, leaving 40 years of memories and friends in California for a different life in Virginia. People have been very caring, considerate, and attentive. He has had meals with some friendly new people, his room is comfortable, and he feels much more at ease than I expected. I thought a studio might be small, but everything he needs fits well, and it feels homey and pleasant. It was hard to choose without him here, but we're happy.

"Wonderful Care and Engaging Activities, Food Could Use Improvement"
They took great care of my mother. She’s always busy with activities and seems really happy. They keep us updated on how she’s doing, which is helpful. The place feels safe and secure, and the staff are friendly and experienced. Everything is clean and well-maintained. The only thing that could be better is the food. It’s okay, but not amazing, and they sometimes forget my mom’s special requests. Overall, it’s been a really great experience.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The facility is nice, but there are only 6 independent residents. The common area mostly has people in wheelchairs, and they seem to be sleeping. The tour was exceptional, and I received good answers, but it wasn't a good fit.

"Pleased with Emeritus at Cave Spring"
Our family member recently moved into Emeritus at Cave Spring. We're happy with it so far! The staff is really nice and professional. The only thing is, they can use up things like diapers fast if you don't tell them how to use them.

"Kind and helpful staff, but facility needs some improvements"
The staff at the facility were nice and friendly. Pricing was fair. They were really helpful too. The studio apartment we saw was an acceptable size. However, it was a bit off-putting that there was no welcome desk at the entrance. We had to search around to find someone who could assist us. Also, I noticed that some areas had a distinct urine smell. Regardless, the place had a really positive vibe. Out of all the places we checked out, this one came third on our list. Plus, it's conveniently located near our house. It was nice to see that many of the workers knew the residents by their names.

"Caring Haven: Where Love Abounds"
I'm really sure that Mom is being taken care of very well. The activities director is amazing and works hard to include everyone. The physical therapy is excellent, which is something my Mom really needs. They can care for her much better than I was doing. However, Mom still doesn't want to be there or anywhere else. It must be her mental condition. The staff is very loving and gives hugs whenever I see them.

"Safe, Caring Assisted Living with Friendly Staff"
It's a safe place. Everyone treats me well. When I have concerns, the office staff listens and helps me solve them. I'm content. I like myself, people, and my living situation. My roommate is great.

"Initial Kindness, Long-Term Neglect at Assisted Living Facility"
They initially show kindness to get you in, but things change once your relative moves in. You can't get updates, have no clue about your loved one's wellbeing - only what they tell you, and there’s no one who genuinely cares to address your concerns. We were promised a 30-day review but when we arrived for the meeting, no one was present leaving us stranded. No one has reached out to us since then. They smother you with attention to convince you, but once you're in, you're ignored. My mom is often in tears and feels lonely there. There are necessary improvements to be made.
