"Great staff and facility but food and room issues exist"
The staff and the facility are really good. Make sure you ask for a room with a screened-in porch, or you might end up paying extra to get it screened. It’s pricey, but I’ve looked around and it’s not worth saving money if it means lowering your expectations. You get what you pay for, so take good care of your loved one during their last years. The portion sizes need to be bigger. I’ve eaten there a few times with my mom and always left feeling hungry. The food tastes good, but they should offer more variety. A salad bar would be much better than the canned salad they currently have, which isn’t very good.

"Apartments at Chancellor's Village Disappointing"
Chancellor's Village cost a lot, way more than other places. The apartments were super old. I didn't like them at all.

"Affordable, Convenient, and Cozy"
This assisted living facility offers a $10,000 entry fee and a $4,250 monthly cost for a two-bedroom apartment. Residents receive one meal per day, and internet and phone services are separate. The location is near Mary Washington University and the train station. Each room includes a washer and dryer, and residents can enjoy playing the piano or using custom shelves. Two-bedroom apartments come with a patio or balcony. To secure a spot, make a deposit in early summer for a move.

"Great care and happy with the community"
I'm really pleased with the care here. It's great seeing him happy with the staff and the care they give. The community is clean, and he enjoys being outside. They have a good variety of healthy meals and encourage him to join in activities. We recommend this community for its great care and value.

"Great activities, food, and amenities at Chancellor's Village!"
Chancellor's Village has been great for my father. They offer many activities and make sure all the residents know when it's time for them. They also have special events like luaus and movie nights. They post the activities and meal plans on a bulletin board so everyone can see. The food is really good—I’ve eaten there a few times. They take your order at the table and offer lots of choices. If you don’t like what’s on the menu, you can pick from an alternative one. There are many common areas, including a library, a media room, and places to read or play games. They even have two cockatoos! Every apartment has a private balcony. They provide a shuttle service five days a week for shopping or doctor appointments at no extra cost! We picked Chancellor’s because they had the best price for all the amenities they offer. We’re very happy with our choice!

"Great experience, but my dad chose another place"
We found this community through A Place for Mom and went to see it. It was really nice, and I would have chosen it for my dad. We visited other places, and he chose a different one. Overall, it was a great experience with Chancellor's Village.

"Great Visit, Chose a Closer Community Instead"
I liked this place when we went there. The staff were really nice, and the place looked good. I don't have anything negative to say about it. We ended up picking a different community that was closer and a bit smaller.

"Good Care and Value, But Not Quite Like Home"
My parents live here, and it's a nice place, though it's not quite like home. The staff are always helpful and caring, which I really appreciate. They offer activities if my parents want to join in. The food could be a bit better. Since it's nearby, I can visit them often. I hope they start to feel at home soon, but I’m not sure I could find a better place for the care and value.

"Chancellor's Village: A Fantastic, Caring Place for Loved Ones"
Chancellor's Village is great! From the moment we arrived with my parents, everything was beautiful and clean. The staff from marketing was really kind, caring, and knew everything we needed to know. We must have asked at least 500 questions, and she answered them all. The lunch was tasty with lots of options. The apartment was clean and nicely set up. As I walked around, I saw staff members stopping to smile and chat with residents, even if just for a little bit. They were never ignored.

"Amazing people, clean, and feels like family"
The people here are amazing. They keep everything super clean. There are plenty of activities, and she eats way better than I do. There's one lady at the front desk who should probably retire, but other than that, I can't think of anything that needs fixing. It really feels like a family here. When I talked to Lara, we connected right away, and when we visited, we knew she'd be comfortable. It's beautiful.

"Wonderful Assisted Living for My Parents"
When I first started looking for a place for my parents, Chancellor's Village wasn't on my list. If it weren't for Carol Hull at A Place for Mom, I would never have visited it. I'm so thankful because Chancellor's Village is amazing. Out of all the places I saw, CV was the warmest and most welcoming. The staff and the place itself made us feel at home. They helped us with the application and worked with us to find the best apartment and move-in date for my parents. CV is bright, cheerful, and full of friendly people. My parents have only been there a few days, but I know they will love their new home and friends.

"Fantastic experience with friendly staff and supportive Roxanne"
We met a great couple at Chancellors Village, and everyone there is happy and friendly. Roxanne has gone above and beyond to make us feel at home. She is kind, patient, and really respects our situation. We are so grateful to have her helping us through this emotional time. After checking out several places, Roxanne is one of the main reasons we’re thinking about choosing Chancellors Village. Once we finalize a few details, we will be moving forward with them.

"Cozy and Friendly Living"
Chancellor’s Village is a cozy and friendly place. The apartments are big and roomy. The staff is professional and kind, and the dining room is as good as any four-star restaurant in the state. I got to work with Roxanne and Lara, and I was really impressed by how much they care about the community and its residents. My grandparents lived at Chancellor’s Village until my grandfather passed away. “Big Daddy” could be hard to please sometimes, but he was very happy at Chancellor’s Village!

"Lovely community with friendly staff and great residents!"
Chancellor's Village is a lovely community. The apartments are big with open floor plans. The kitchens have lots of counter space and cabinets, though you might not need them because you’ll enjoy the great meals Paul cooks daily. The staff is professional, warm, and friendly. I’ve met several residents, and they truly love this place and treat their neighbors like family. Chancellor's Village and its great staff help everyone join the community smoothly. We’re lucky to have such a wonderful place in Fredericksburg!

"Wonderful Experience at Chancellors Village for Mom’s New Home"
Love Chancellors Village! When we left Mom there for two weeks while we were on vacation, she loved everything about her stay. The apartments are beautiful and the facility is very clean. The dining room feels like a restaurant with linen tablecloths, neat wait staff, and a menu to choose from. The staff are extremely helpful, friendly, and amazing, especially Lara Lewis, who helped Mom transition as a new resident. We are thrilled for Mom and her new independent lifestyle in her lovely apartment with a screened porch overlooking a beautiful courtyard. Thanks, Chancellors Village, for this exciting new journey for her!

"Chancellor’s Village is amazing!"
The people at Chancellor’s Village are awesome! Moving our senior family members is super stressful, but they make it so easy. The admin and nursing staff do whatever it takes to help them settle in, and the facilities staff make sure everything is perfect. The residents are great too! They welcome each new person with open arms to make them feel at home. The move coordinators make everything happen so smoothly. Thank you for being such a great place for retirement years!

"Mom's Friendly New Place"
When Mom felt lonely at her Florida residence, I moved her to Chancellors Village (CV) to be closer. The staff and neighbors here are incredibly warm and friendly, even better than her place in Clearwater, which was already nice. The relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff make her feel safe and comfortable. She’s thriving at 94. We just wish they had a better vehicle for transport; it's hard for her to climb into the old bus, but the drivers are really helpful. Mom enjoys the trips and shows CV offers, plus the shopping. We also love having dinner with her in the polite and friendly dining area. The staff knows her by name, and she loves that! We're glad she’s at CV. It’s such a comfort!

"Perfect Care for Mom, Great for Everyone!"
After checking out other local places, I chose Chancellors Village for my mom, and later recommended it to a neighbor who also loves it. Chancellors Village is the best independent care facility in the Fredericksburg area. My mom, who is 96, kept enjoying her hobbies like singing in the choir, gardening in the resident plots, and even won the Halloween contest with local kids. This is just one of many activities they offer. There are also trips to the Marine Museum, theater, concerts, and casual outings like Yoder's Market with small animals. The maintenance staff gave great support and made her feel welcome right away. A special guide helped her get settled. The rooms offer great value for the money. The video on the site doesn't mention the computer classes, which are a plus. Outside the dining room, the food choices make everyone’s mouth water, and residents enjoy live music while they wait. The chef also took excellent care of my brother's special health needs during his visit. Their compassion is unmatched. Everything space, food, staff, opportunities, setting, transportation, cost, and the quality of residents is top-notch. I’d give it a 4.5-star rating if I could. You won’t regret visiting, and I bet you'll want to stay.

"Friendly Staff, Clean Facility, Unwanted Fees"
The staff here are really nice and always ready to assist. The place is super clean, and they offer lots of different activities. They keep an eye on clients even when they're not at the facility. However, they unexpectedly increased the monthly fees without telling anyone, and despite my concerns, they didn't take any action.

"Costly, but gives us peace of mind"
They're not perfect, but they're pretty good. The place is clean, and they take great care of her medications. She did say they don't let her sleep as much as she'd like, but they make sure everyone gets up, dressed, and doesn't just stay in their rooms all day. She goes to church on Sundays and does stretch classes since she finished physical therapy. Chancellor's Village was the first place my wife toured and she liked it a lot, but it was a bit expensive. We ended up moving her there, and it suits her well with her own little apartment. She's been through a lot this year and couldn't stay home alone anymore. So far, it's working out really well, it's good for her, and it gives the family peace of mind.

"Overall Meets Our Expectations"
I’m really happy with this place overall, and I’d recommend it to anyone who has a pet. I knew from the start that it wouldn’t be exactly like home, but it’s been a positive experience for all of us. Sure, there are some complaints, but you have to take them with a grain of salt. The only thing that disappointed me a little is that they talked a big game about getting my mom involved and finding her a buddy, but after the first week, it kind of tapered off. Seniors like my mom need more than a week to make a friend—it felt like they left her to her own devices. Still, the place has met our expectations in terms of cleanliness, friendly staff, and good food.

"Top-notch care and facilities at Chancellors Village"
Our mom, who is 90, has lived at Chancellors Village for 15 years, moving from independent to assisted living. The staff is excellent—always friendly, attentive, and patient. They provide daily help (like with medications and bathing) in a well-organized and reliable way. The assisted living apartments are very clean and well-kept. Each one has a bedroom, bathroom, living room (with a full-size fridge, cabinets, and sink), and a private porch for a comfortable living space. The dining room offers three meals a day, and residents can eat any time during serving hours. The chef and wait staff are available at every meal. There are always daily activities available (such as field trips, movies, a hairdresser, exercise, guest speakers, and other entertainment). On Sundays, transportation to religious services is provided, and during the week, there’s transportation for doctor appointments and shopping. The lobby and entrance (including the front desk, sitting room, staircase, and elevator) are bright, clean, and welcoming. The birds and tropical fish in the sitting room are a nice touch. Overall, the management and staff make Chancellors Village stand out from other places.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Costs Too Much, Space Too Little"
The cost to join is way too much. The independent living part is really nice, but it's also too pricey. The assisted living section is too small and costs too much.
