Commonwealth Senior Living at Chesterfield

"Headline"
Our family visited Commonwealth Senior Living in person, and the tour was positive. The community felt nice, small, and convenient, but unfortunately, no openings were available at that time.

"Mixed Experience at Commonwealth Senior Living"
The first person we talked to was great. My mom has some mental health problems, so it was hard for them. They should really work on replying to emails faster. Out of all the places we checked out, Commonwealth Senior Living was the only one that would take our loved one. I’d say it’s worth considering if you need to find a place for a family member.

"Clean and Caring Assisted Living with Some Food Concerns"
We chose Commonwealth because they talked about their fresh food program. But sometimes, it's not as good as they said during the tour. It's not that it's not fresh; it's just not the quality they promised. The place is really clean. They take good care of my mom, and when she needs help, they respond promptly. Overall, I'd recommend this facility to other families.

"Mixed Experience"
Some folks were nice, but some weren't. The head nurses were really caring. When my loved one got there, things were a bit messy and not ready. The place was okay, but it didn't meet my high care expectations.

"Mixed Experience"
This assisted living facility is mostly clean, but the housekeeping can be inconsistent. Unfortunately, they’ve misplaced many of my loved one’s clothes during laundry service. Not recommended.

"Mixed Experience at Commonwealth Senior Living"
Commonwealth Senior Living is super close by, which makes it really handy for us. We appreciate that our family member gets more attention here than anywhere else they've stayed. The everyday staff who look after them are awesome. But, the bosses could work on talking better – we reached out to them recently to make sure our loved one got checked for a UTI again, but sadly they didn't do it. So, our family member ended up in the hospital with a bad UTI and a little stroke.

"Lack of activities for disabilities, poor communication, billing errors."
It was hard for my loved one because he's blind. I’m not sure if many people knew since he doesn't share that. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have activities for blind people. During our visit, we went to a social with cupcakes and wine, which was okay, but I didn’t feel very included. Their communication at first wasn’t great. I asked if we could bring his medication in pill boxes sorted by the day, and they said yes. But it turns out they needed to be in the original pharmacy containers, and nobody told me that until he arrived. He was without his medication for three days, which I wasn’t happy about. Important details like that should be better communicated. Also, when I went to get his stuff to check him out, I was surprised I didn’t have to sign anything. They also billed me by mistake for after he left. They did work with me to fix that, but it was still frustrating. I wished there were more activities for my dad and that they considered people’s disabilities more. If that had happened, he probably would have stayed.

"Safe, Happy, and Satisfied"
It's been a great experience. The staff is friendly and interacts well with residents. The food is tasty, and the place is clean. Sometimes getting answers can be tricky, but overall, we're satisfied. Our loved one feels happy and safe here, which matters most.

"Disappointed visit, no parking, no smiles, outdated guide. Not recommended."
I went there today, but they didn't know I was coming, and the person who was supposed to show me around didn't work there anymore. There was no parking because of construction that's been going on for a long time, and I wish they had told me about it before. It seemed like they weren't prepared at all. Nobody there looked happy. They say they help with living and memory care, but it didn't seem like a good place for that.
