"Concerned About Staff and Medication Policies After Parent's Injury"
My mom moved into this place on a Monday. They told us to give her a week or two, so she could figure out her new surroundings. On that Friday, we got a call - another patient shoved my mom, who fell and hit her head. They didn't refuse to let us visit but hinted that us being there could start problems. They put my mom on the phone and she was pretty ok, but her speech was blurry. I asked if they had given her some kind of medicine, and they said it was a rule to give both people involved in a fight anxiety medication - no matter whose fault it was. My mom was in a stage of life where she was getting ready to pass away, so the nurse they had working had to look at her. The nurse said it was hard to tell for certain, but that her head injury maybe wasn't so serious. Late at night, we got another call - they found my mom on the floor in her locked room with a cut above her eye. They asked if we wanted to send her to the hospital. Without any more information, we had them get ahold of the nurse who was helping my mom get ready to pass away. When the nurse got there, she called us to say the staff said my mom's leg wasn't moving right and she had to go to the hospital's emergency room. We didn't know this earlier. We rushed to the hospital where the doctors found out that my mom's hip was broken. The doctor said she needed surgery to be able to move again. But, they thought it was likely she wouldn't survive the surgery because of her age - and even if she did, being able to move again wasn't very likely. We thought this through and decided against the surgery. The hospital sent a bed to the facility and transported her back. My brother, our spouses, and I showed up after she was brought back. The nurse let us in, saying she'd just left my mom's room and was explaining the doctor's instructions. We turned the corner and a staff member came rushing out, saying my mom had climbed over the railing and fallen again. After that, they had to keep giving her medicine to calm her down so she could get some rest to heal. Four days later, she passed away. The people working there were nice, but most of them were aides and med techs, and there weren't many trained nurses. I have a strong feeling that my mom's broken hip was caused by the anxiety medication the facility gave her after she had hit her head. I also feel that this might have contributed to her death. One of their Sales Directors was sweet and caring. She knew every patient's name. The staff overall were friendly, just not trained enough or not enough of them.

"Poor service and unclear pricing at assisted living facility."
The place was pretty disorganized, and the staff wasn't too friendly or helpful when I asked about costs. I emailed them but they didn't even reply with a price, which I found strange.

"Poor Communication at Assisted Living"
During the pandemic, my loved one's assisted living facility had terrible communication skills. I had to call them for everything, and they didn't send me any email about visitation options after reopening.

"Great Place, But Staff Morale Needs a Boost"
Our time here has been really good. The staff should get better pay so they stay longer. They also need more rewards, encouragement, and praise to feel good about their jobs. During the pandemic, more activities should be planned so residents can safely socialize and get exercise.

"Excellent Assisted Living Facility with Professional and Caring Staff"
This place is the best around here. The people who work here are really nice and respectful to everyone, including the people who live here and their families. I feel good about my husband staying here. I know he is being taken care of really well. The building is always clean, and the food they give the residents is really good.

"Understaffed Facility with Covid Challenges Affects Resident Care"
In my opinion, this place doesn't have enough staff. My mom lives there and she's at risk of falling. Sometimes, she's left sitting on the toilet for more than 30 minutes because there aren't enough people to help everyone quickly. The CNAs who are good and fast at their jobs want to do better, but there aren't enough of them. Covid has made things harder too. Residents have had to stay in their rooms for a long time. They eat all their meals alone, day after day. My mom is still sharp and she notices these problems too.

"Avoid This Facility: Neglect and Cover-Up Tactics Documented"
I strongly urge you NOT to put your dear one in this place. My dad's last fall that they failed to document meant he couldn't walk anymore, struggles to talk, and the staff who were supposed to be looking after him just told us what we wanted to hear. Then, they'd try to hide the fact they're doing a bad job. My family had no choice but to report this place to the authorities. They ignored my dad so much that he eventually passed away, keeping his meds from him when I have all the proof, and losing his meds. I am confident this place will be well-investigated, and I hope they check on their caregivers thoroughly, including tests for drugs, and get rid of the poor leaders and medical technicians. My dad used all his savings in order to be cared for at this facility. It's my mission now to make sure they answer for their wrongdoings so no more residents end up like my dad. I've got lots of notes and pictures to support my story, already sent to the state. If anyone is pondering over sending their loved ones to the cottage or memory care, I'm here to tell you all the details. Please feel free to reach me. I've got all the evidence we need.

""Treatment of Residents and Staff Unsatisfactory""
After my visit to the Commonwealth of Senior Living at Gloucester House, I was unhappy with what I saw. The way the residents and staff are treated by the management is just too disappointing. The assistant Rcd is not respectful, and the RCD constantly belittles the staff. I had a chat with a few workers there, and I found out the residents aren't being kept clean, causing infections. I seriously wouldn't suggest sending your loved ones here. .

"Considering Assisted Living for Mom After Impressive Tour Experience"
I really liked the lady who showed us around and talked about why their place is great. The people who live there seemed happy and friendly. But, the rooms weren't big enough for my husband's parents. I might think about it more for my mom later on.

"She's Thriving in Her New Home"
Since we moved my mother here, everything has fallen into place. I'm amazed at the positive transformation. She's genuinely happy and receives excellent care, giving us peace of mind. The community allows us to take her out for the day without restrictions. Her spacious unit feels comfortable, and daily housekeeping keeps things tidy. The staff is incredibly helpful and ensures she's dressed and clean. She's made friends and enjoys meals in the dining hall.

"Communication Needs Improvement in Otherwise Nice Assisted Living Facility"
The place is pretty okay. Sometimes they don't talk enough among themselves. It takes a while for them to answer my emails or voicemails. They've forgotten some things the doctor said, even though they knew when they were supposed to do them. At night, the person at the front desk doesn't always know who's working. Everything else is clean, and the food is good, but it's a little too salty. They have fun things to do, and there's someone here who does hair, and they did a great job.

"Caring Staff, but Feels Overcrowded"
The assisted living place seems to give enough care; there are many workers around. Yet, it feels pretty packed, especially when I dropped by at lunchtime – it was really busy and full. The living spaces are big, which is nice. I was mostly checking out the part of the place where they take care of people who have trouble remembering things because that’s what my step-mom needs. The workers were nice – they said my dad could go anywhere in the building, not just the memory area, because he doesn’t need the same kind of help as my step-mom. They also told us there are different food choices if my parents don’t want what’s being served. Eating right is a big deal since my parents keep losing weight. Most of the staff were in medical clothes, which makes it feel more like a hospital than a home. Other places have their staff wear regular clothes, and it feels more like a house. There aren’t many spots for people to just sit and think. There’s a TV room, but it was being used for worker training. I’m not sure where my folks could hang out and watch TV with others. It’s cool that they take people out for trips. I didn’t see any activities, though. One lady kept saying she wanted to go home and offered to pay someone to take her, which was sad to hear. I’m glad this place is near my house, so I can visit my parents a lot. I’ve got two more places to look at before I decide. This one’s definitely on my list to think about.
