"Frequent staff changes, poor activity involvement"
The staff changed a lot. By the time we got to know them, they were gone the next week. They didn't try very hard to include [name] in activities. I would tell a friend to check other places, even though many we looked at weren't much better.

"Great facility with friendly staff; room for improvement in response times"
The staff here are really friendly and know what they’re doing. However, they are usually slow to respond to the resident's pendant alert system, especially during the night. I’ve mentioned this issue to the director a few times. Housekeeping is great, and they do a good job keeping the place clean. Communication with families is good too, and moving in was smooth. The meals are excellent, and the chef clearly knows how to cook. One thing that could be better is having more supervision of the aides at night. Also, they need to be quicker with giving out medications, especially when they are needed right away. I would definitely recommend Seaton Chesterfield, knowing it isn’t perfect. I understand that finding and keeping good staff is tough, and that’s probably the case at most assisted living and nursing homes.

"Improving Care Despite Management Changes and Medication Challenges"
They've had three different chefs, but things are improving now. There was a big change in management this spring. There have been some issues with getting medications right. They follow the rules strictly, but they worked with me to make sure everything was okay for my mother. Overall, she's happy there.

"Good facility with great care, but communication needs improvement."
My loved one is happy here, and their needs are met. There are two physical and occupational therapists who are excellent and have been here the whole time. Even though there’s been a big turnover this year (only 2 LPNs and no major administrators remain), we still think it's the best fit. It’s the best price around with good overall ratings. The facility is newly renovated and updated. It's especially good for seniors with some mobility issues. Those with less infirmity might feel a bit out of place. They have daily puzzles and games (like Bingo, Scrabble, Hangman), and they enjoy a happy hour every couple of weeks. They also have music performances with harp, guitar, piano, or gospel singers, and a bi-monthly Rosary Group. I like that they offer the choice to use their pharmacy or supply my own meds, and they use a new system to deliver them correctly. The only downside is that communication from administration was better before all the changes, but my mother’s personal needs are met and handled easily.

"Mixed Experience at Seaton Chesterfield"
Our family and loved one had an okay experience at Seaton Chesterfield. When touring, ask staff and residents many questions to get the full picture. Keep advocating for your loved one and visit regularly. Unfortunately, staff sometimes give vague answers.

"Mismanaged Chaos"
My dad’s assisted living place is a mess! The company prioritizes aesthetics over fixing essential things like plumbing. Residents endure cold meals, lack of communication, and my dad’s been sleeping in a recliner for months. We’re moving him elsewhere soon.

"Poor Care and Hidden Fees at Seaton Assisted Living Facility"
My family member passed away after only 21 days here. The people who helped him were nice, but the floors were always dirty. His health got worse fast, and I think it's because they didn't take good enough care of him. He needed more help than they gave him, but they let him stay because they care more about money than people. It was clear when they charged us thousands of dollars after he died! They use tricky math, and I won't be surprised if we have to go to court about it. They say the first month is free, but that's not true. You only get the part of the month left after you move in. For example, if your loved one moved in on the 21st, only the days left in the month are free. That's very different! Since our loved one died on day 21, we shouldn't have had to pay for the room for the month after he died, but they charged us $5,000 anyway!

"Poor Care, Staff Change Led to Dad's Neglect, Wouldn't Recommend"
My dad stayed here after new owners came, but things got worse. The old staff left, and the new ones didn't check on the residents enough. My dad had a bad reaction and laid for two days before they finally called an ambulance. I don't think it's a good place for anyone you care about.

"Caring staff, clean facility, but food and staffing need improvement"
The facility is short on staff, but the staff who are there are very caring. My loved one loves the food, although it has gotten worse recently. They work hard to keep activities going, and the place is clean. There is room for improvement. We like the smaller size and single level, which makes it easier for my loved one to get around. The therapy staff deserves 5 out of 5 stars!

Compared to the last place my loved one stayed, this is way better. It feels like going from a basic motel to a fancy hotel. It's really good, and there are enough staff for the residents. "Exceptional Care and Friendly Staff!"
If you need assisted living, I highly recommend Elmcroft of Chesterfield. Everyone there is so nice and caring. They even helped my mom with her vision problem by cutting up her meals. The servers knew everyone's name and treated them like family. I can't think of anything bad to say about them. When my mom had to go to the hospital, staff would visit her. Even the directors worked weekends. They had lots of activities for the guests, and the pricing was similar to other places.

"Elmcroft Chesterfield: Top-Notch Care and Warmth for Residents"
I recently moved my dad from another assisted living place to Elmcroft of Chesterfield, and the difference is huge. Elmcroft is way better in every way. At the old place, we were charged for everything, even for giving him his meds. Unfortunately, a lot of those services weren’t provided, even after we told management. They seemed more interested in making money than taking care of residents. At Elmcroft, they focus on the residents. The staff is always caring and goes above and beyond. They provide an alert pendant for all residents in assisted living and memory care. There are different room sizes and prices, including shared rooms. Since my dad has trouble choosing from the menu, Elmcroft gives me the menus ahead of time so I can make sure he gets food he likes. He hasn’t complained about the food at all, which is a big improvement. The staff helps him bathe and get dressed every day, so we can just enjoy spending time together. They handle incontinence with respect and focus on keeping the residents’ dignity. The staff always greets everyone by name and is compassionate at all times. Elmcroft has a warm, caring atmosphere that makes everyone feel safe and looked after. And I can’t say enough good things about [Removed], the executive director. She knows all the residents' names and stories. Her positive and caring attitude makes Elmcroft a wonderful place to be.

"A Wonderful Place for Mom"
My mom lived at Elmcroft for the last five years of her life. Moving her here gave her a quality of life she wouldn’t have had on her own. She got excellent care whenever she needed it. The Director, who’s been there for years, is amazing and makes sure her staff is just as great. She’s always available for residents and their families. We loved that the staff hardly ever changed. The place feels like a second family. They have lots of activities for everyone, no matter their physical abilities. Mom and we loved that it’s a smaller, beautifully decorated, and very clean place, tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac. I’ve recommended Elmcroft to many people looking for a new home for their parents.

"Elmcroft of Chesterfield: Compassionate Care for Your Loved Ones"
When we needed to move Mom from her home of 62 years to an Assisted Living Facility, we chose Elmcroft of Chesterfield. Mom had bladder cancer and macular degeneration. I called Elmcroft, and the director invited me to visit that day. He was kind and friendly, which made us feel better. She assured us that Mom would be cared for with love and respect. We wanted Mom to be cared for by females only and confirmed this was their policy. She also mentioned that other residents had similar vision problems. The facility was small, which was good for someone with visual issues. It was very clean, and the residents were enjoying piano music and a cozy fire in the beautiful fireplace. It felt like home. Mom loved the area and enjoyed the entertainment and the piano music before breakfast. She also appreciated the care from all the lovely people there. When Mom's cancer got worse and she passed away, we stayed with her around the clock. The staff checked on us but focused on keeping Mom clean and comfortable. One of Mom's favorite nurses even came in one evening to pray over her in her native language, which was very touching. If you want real compassion, safety, and care, visit Elmcroft. You and your loved one will be happy you did.

"Elmcroft: Best care and happiness for loved ones"
You won’t find a better assisted living facility around. We first moved my mom to Elmcroft for short-term care after she hurt her back. After a few weeks, we all agreed, including Mom, that this was the best place for her, given her needs. We had looked at many places to make sure Elmcroft was the right fit. It was clear that Elmcroft was the only choice for Mom. Within a month, we saw a big change in her mood and outlook. She was happier and fully recovered from her injury. The staff was amazing and made each resident feel special. The kindness and care they showed Mom were outstanding. I was surprised to see a negative review here. People shouldn’t make negative comments without knowing the facts. You won’t find better care than at Elmcroft in Chesterfield. Mom had five wonderful years there, and we are very thankful for the care and love she received. The director is incredibly kind and caring, and we always considered her and the staff part of our family. We are forever grateful for the excellent care Mom received in her final years. If you’re looking for respite or long-term care, Elmcroft should be at the top of your list.

"Disappointing Facility with Poor Food and Understaffing Issues"
My time with this assisted living facility has been very upsetting since my parent became a resident here. The food provided isn't always healthy or delicious. I was shocked by the terrible incident that took place last October, that shows clearly they don't have enough staff. Several staff members have shown that they can't do all the work they're supposed to do. They also don't seem to honestly care about the patients, which other families would agree.

"Very happy with Elmcroft"
I am very happy with Elmcroft. The menu can get a bit repetitive, but most people can eat it. It’s institutional food, so a little more variety would be nice. Luann does her best with what they have, and they really care about the residents. I liked that it’s smaller, so there’s more individual attention. But sometimes, my mom thinks they take a bit of time to respond when she rings the bell.

"Elmcroft Provides Exceptional Care and Support"
As an out-of-town caregiver, I’ve found Elmcroft to be excellent. They helped set everything up quickly for an emergency move, coordinated the furniture move, and kept me updated with calls and emails about my Aunt in the memory care unit. They are always attentive and offer helpful suggestions to manage the distance. I see them actively involved with the residents and feel very comfortable with their care. LuAnn and Candace have been amazing throughout this transition and ongoing care. I highly recommend Elmcroft.

Elmcroft was a wonderful choice for my parents. The staff was incredibly loving. It was heartbreaking when I realized I couldn't afford to keep them there for their whole lives because they don’t accept Medicaid.
