Ginter Hall Assisted Living & Memory Care

"Poor Care and Neglect"
The administration’s rudeness and lack of consideration left a bitter impression. Despite choosing the community for its proximity to their job, the reviewer’s mother faced issues like infrequent showers and unattended residents.

"Limited activities and staff concern; chose for affordability"
The facility lacks activities, so make sure to check on your loved ones often. Some staff seem indifferent. We chose this place mainly because it was affordable.

"Disappointing Experience: Rooms Like Jail Cells, Residents Unenthused"
We didn't like this place because the rooms felt like jail cells. Everyone we saw on the tour seemed really quiet. So we picked a different place nearby instead.

"Understaffed Assisted Living: Clean but Poor Service and Cold Food"
The place looks nice, but there aren't enough people to help the residents. My family member stayed in pajamas until late afternoon. Their laundry was always overflowing. The food was cold because there weren't enough workers to serve or hand it out.

"Mixed Impressions at Assisted Living Facility"
Our family visited in person, and despite the older building, the renovations were impressive. Unfortunately, it didn't fit our budget, and some staff and residents seemed unhappy.

"Assisted Living Review: Safety Concerns and Staff Turnover"
I believe they make sure everyone stays safe, especially during the pandemic. But they seem really messy, and lots of workers leave. We couldn't go inside, only saw from far away. But we could visit outside.

"Could Improve Attentiveness and Care"
I would tell people that this community could do better. This place was just okay. They weren't very good at taking care of the residents' needs or belongings. Sometimes, my loved one wasn't fully dressed when I visited. I know things could have been worse. That's why I gave this place 3 stars in most of my ratings.

"Decent Assisted Living, Needs Some Updates and Offers Private Rooms"
Though it's in a weird spot, in a strip mall, this place does let mom shop and eat out a lot when I visit. The building looks old. They fixed up the first floor some, but it seems like they still have a lot of work to do. The people working there seem nice. But, the people living there don't seem as into things as at some other places I've been. With what it costs, mom could get a room to herself instead of sharing.

"Outdated Facilities, Unappealing Rooms: Choosing Elsewhere"
This place just didn't appeal to us. It wasn't up-to-date and felt quite outdated. The rooms weren't very spacious and gave off an institutional feeling. The rooms lacked any carpeting, featuring only tile flooring. On the bright side, the place was well-kept and clean. They let us know about the basic activities they organize for everyone. The person who showed us around was quite nice and answered all our questions while explaining the facility's offerings. But it just wasn't the right fit for us, so we chose a different community.

"Change in Management and Staffing Leads to Decline"
When we first settled our family member into this place, I'd say it was pretty good - maybe a four out of five. But things have changed. It's evident they've had staff and management changes, which hasn't been good for them. It doesn't seem like they have enough people working there, and sometimes you can even smell an odd scent when you walk in. They're definitely not doing what they promised they would for the care services. Moreover, we're being billed for these. Right now, I wouldn't suggest this place to others.

"Great choice for our loved one!"
Everything is going well for my loved one at this place! The staff is awesome, and my loved one likes the food. Even though she doesn’t join many activities, there are lots for her to choose from. She thinks her room is very cozy. Overall, we made a great choice picking this place!

"Improvements Underway, Friendly Staff, Room Concerns"
This community is pleasant. They've made improvements on the first floor and started on another floor. The staff I met were friendly. However, the activities offered didn't match what we were looking for. The rooms were nice, but it seemed they lacked pull cords for emergencies.

"Unhappy with restricted outdoor access"
We weren't happy with it. The safe section was upstairs and we couldn't go to the garden zones unless we asked.

"Warning: Poorly-Run Ginter Hall Engages in Theft and Lies"
This place just isn't right and lies seem to be a common thing here. I've already written a review once, but it was taken off. The word is out that I'm supposed to write again to report all the problems here. This whole mess is going to be part of a TV news report soon about this place and other places like it doing things they shouldn't. Basically, stuff keeps disappearing from the room of the person we have living there. Vases with flowers, personal stuff, even diapers vanished less than a day after we bought them and put them in the room. I just bought a new mattress because the one Ginter Hall gave was really subpar. I'm just waiting for the day that mattress gets stolen and swapped out with a used one. If you're reading this, I gotta tell you, Ginter Hall is just embarrassing, deceitful, and a mess.

"Encountered Communication Issues with Care"
I feel that Ginter Hall is an overall pleasant place, judging by their good-looking building and nice staff. Still, there've been problems with the actual help they give. Staff members don't seem to pass on info or instructions well, so you find yourself having to tell them things over and over.

I am very happy with the people who helped my 91-year-old mom adjust to assisted living. They are kind and do everything they can to make the move easy for both the person moving and the family worried about the move.

"Missing Coffee and Tea Amenities at Ginter Hall Assisted Living"
I've met friendly faces at Ginter Hall, where my mom's content. She transitioned from The Virginian's independence to assisted living here. She's adjusting well to the structured environment. My only wish? A small one—I'd love if they provided coffee or tea for residents. It's a simple amenity that could easily enhance their day.

"Pleasant Experience with Caring Staff at Ginter Hall Assisted Living"
Ginter Hall Assisted Living & Memory Care is a really nice place with staff who truly care about the residents. This is our first time dealing with something like this, and overall, it's been pretty good. The only thing that's been a little tough is that there isn't just one person to go to when there's a problem. We have to talk to a bunch of different people for different issues or questions that come up. But besides that, everything is going smoothly.

"Peace of Mind: Safe, Friendly Assisted Living"
I feel relieved knowing my mom is safe and happy there. The nurses are really nice and know how to help in different situations. They even remember everyone's names and treat them kindly. The people who work in the office are also really nice.

"A Wonderful Home for Mom with Caring Staff"
I was taking care of my mom, who has dementia, at home. But I had to go back to work and needed to find another option for her care. I reached out to "A Place For Mom," and they connected me with Ginter Hall and their admissions director. As soon as I visited Ginter Hall, I knew it was the right place for my mom. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Ginter Hall doesn't feel like a typical nursing home. Every resident is treated with dignity and respect, and the staff works hard to make everyone feel at home. My mom has been at Ginter Hall for a month now. She is very happy and considers Ginter Hall her home. That’s really comforting.

My family and I were lost, unsure how to care for my mother. Returning to work, we didn't want strangers at home. A friend recommended "A Place For Mom." Within minutes, they connected me with Ginter Hall South. The warm, compassionate staff assured me it was the right choice. Now, with Ginter Hall, I feel at ease.

"Much Better and More Affordable Than Expensive West End Place"
We just moved my mother into this community. She loves her room on the renovated first floor. It’s very nice! They’ve made a lot of improvements inside and outside the building. It’s also very affordable—by far the least expensive place we found compared to other communities. We had Mom at a very pricey West End place before, and this is so much better. We’re really happy with our choice!

"Clean and Friendly Assisted Living with Affordable Rates and Location"
I went to check out the community. The building looked a bit old, but it was tidy and spotless. Every staff member I talked to was kind and welcoming. The prices are really reasonable, and the place is conveniently located for us. It's one of the places we're considering.
