"Assisted Living Staff Response Needs Improvement"
This place has a problem with the staff. When my family presses the call button, they take too long to come. My family member isn't getting the care they're supposed to. They need to be quicker and hire more people.

"Great care and homey environment with helpful staff"
The first person you'll meet is a lady named [name removed]. She does an amazing job. Even though she works in sales, you can go to her with any questions, comments, or concerns anytime, and she's always there to help. Many of the care staff are really great. There are a few we try to avoid, but overall, the care is better than most assisted living places. The facility itself is very nice and feels like home. They make the spaces look cozy and welcoming. Even the cooking staff always try to meet your needs.

"Communication and Care Concerns Noted"
We visited the Commonwealth Senior Living in Stafford, which is a bit on the small side. We tried many times to contact them, but they didn’t answer our calls or respond. I’m worried they might not be up to the task of dealing with my family member’s need for help moving around.

"Boredom Challenges at Assisted Living Facility"
Make sure you know where your loved one is in terms of memory care. Our main problem was that my family member felt bored. Although there were plenty of activities, nothing interested him. He ended up spending most of his time watching TV. The staff were friendly and caring, but boredom remained our biggest issue, leading to frequent calls home.

"Mixed Experience at Commonwealth Senior Living"
Commonwealth Senior Living is super clean. The staff who help our loved ones are amazing—always friendly and caring. The new director is getting activities going again, which is great. But the head nurse and some services fell short. Communication was tough.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
When we finally got to visit, the meals and dining service seemed really good, and all the rooms we saw looked nice. The staff's friendliness varied; some were nice, while others were tough to deal with. But we weren't impressed with the cost – they quoted one thing and added extra charges without telling us.

"Clean and Friendly but Limited Amenities; Smaller Than Expected"
Our family visited for a tour in person. It was pleasant but smaller than we had hoped. Because of its size, it seemed like they didn't have enough resources and facilities on-site. Despite this, the staff were very nice, and the place was kept really clean.

"Great staff, good activities, but needs better communication"
We chose Commonwealth because it's close and they worked with us on the cost to get it as close to our budget as possible. The room sizes are smaller, and my mom is in a shared room, but they don't spend much time in their rooms. They offer a lot of activities and keep the residents busy. There has been a lot of turnover with the administrative staff, so communication could be better. They have an online portal where we can check off things they are doing every day. The staff who work with residents are amazing, very friendly, informative, and take care of her needs very well. The staff-to-resident ratio is always good, and they keep great tabs on the residents. I would definitely recommend Commonwealth to others.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Communication and Activities"
The assisted living place changed managers a lot. They don’t talk much with families. They only had one bingo game all summer, which was boring. And when they did stuff, it was just bingo every day. The person in charge of activities hardly ever shows up, and some folks didn’t even know who she was for months. The rooms and bathrooms didn’t get cleaned for ages. The toilet was gross every single week. They put in new carpet, but it’s too fluffy for wheelchairs. Moving between carpet and floor is really hard with a wheelchair and dangerous with a walker

"Clean, secure facility with attentive staff and good care."
I moved my elderly relative to Greenfield of Stafford. When I first visited, I arrived without an appointment and got a tour. The facility is clean and smells fresh, not like urine or "old people." You can choose between individual rooms or shared rooms, with individual rooms costing more. The base cost depends on the room type, and additional costs are based on the level of care needed. The facility has two levels, with the top floor for residents with memory loss. There’s a security elevator to prevent wandering. Basic cable TV is included, but a phone line is an extra cost if desired. The staff is attentive and friendly. Both my relative and other residents say they are treated well. I’ve also asked the staff if they are treated well as employees, and they said yes. They post and distribute a monthly calendar of events. The security system works well to keep residents who might wander from going outside alone. Once, I saw a resident trying to go outside, and the doors locked automatically. A staff member came, helped the resident, and then unlocked the doors for us. It was reassuring to see that the security worked. Overall, this facility is excellent, and I have no complaints. I’ll update this review if I notice any issues.

"Management Changes Ruin Previously Welcoming Assisted Living Facility"
This place used to be a warm and welcoming spot where my mom was given wonderful care. But the new management has completely upended the quality of this place. Only a few of the original staff members remain, and they're terrible. The second floor isn't buzzing with any activities now, and whenever I express my worries, they treat me like I'm a nuisance. The person coordinating everything on the first floor is extremely impolite. The new director is clueless and doesn't seem to control what his staff does. This place, which was once a haven, has now turned into a complete nightmare. I've noticed many people moving out and I've heard of many others, including myself, who are considering the same. My mother deserves only the best, which she isn't getting here anymore.

"Unfriendly Staff and Lack of Activity: Time to Move Mom"
This assisted living home used to be really welcoming but it's changed a lot recently. All the good folks who worked here, even the managers who really cared, have left. The staff here now are just plain rude and they spend all their time in their offices, not being very welcoming. My mom spends the whole day with no activities. The employees are constantly on their phones or chit-chatting. There's nothing to do on the 2nd floor where my mom stays, and it doesn't look like there's much happening on the 1st floor either. The new boss and nurse don't seem clued in and I get the impression they don't want to be. I'm seriously considering moving my mom to another place. A lot of people have already left and I totally get why. I’d say check out other places before deciding on this one!

"Avoid This Facility: Neglect, Discrimination, and Resigned Staff."
I highly suggest avoiding this facility for your loved ones. Management staff who cared are no longer there, especially after the director resigned, which was after others had already left. Our faith is now shattered. Staff members who genuinely cared gradually left without a peep. On the second floor, there are no recreational activities. Furthermore, prejudice is evident, and the remaining employees seem unhappy, devoid of smiles. My mom has repeatedly been found by herself, evidently distressed. As it appears, all good-hearted individuals have departed. It's utterly heartbreaking.

"Unpleasant Smell and Heat overpowers Kind Staff"
Our tour of this assisted living facility wasn't too great. We could detect a really strong urine odor upstairs. The place was also uncomfortably warm which only worsened the smell. The staff, however, were polite and nice. Everyone treated us kindly. Still, this place didn't meet my mother's specific needs.

"Dementia unit small, community not very active, nice people met."
This place seemed nice when I visited. The folks I met were friendly. But I wasn't too happy with the small dementia care area. We were hoping for a livelier place for my family member.

"Great community!"
My family member is doing great since moving to this community. They have lots of fun activities available, and she enjoys being around others. We did have a minor insurance issue, so my advice is to check if the on-site doctor accepts your health insurance. Overall, it's been a wonderful place.

"Positive Start at Assisted Living: Clean, Friendly, Professional Staff"
My family member just started living here. Everything's good. The place looks nice and clean, and the staff are friendly and act professionally. We're still figuring out a few things with them, but overall, it's been a good experience.

"Decent Community, Good Tour Experience"
I visited this place for my mom. The tour was good. It's a nice place. Everything looked well-kept. The people working there were friendly. I had to think about lots of things before deciding where to put my mom. But, this place wasn't right for her. Still, it's a good place.

"From Wonderful to Disappointing: Falling Standards of This Facility"
I was really fond of this facility when I first brought my dad here. It felt really cozy and welcoming. But two years later, a lot of the staff members have left and it seems there's a new director whom I haven't even met. The remaining staff look overworked and exhausted. There aren't too many familiar faces and I'm skeptical about the quality of care. Recently, my dad, who has memory issues, became verbally angry and without asking me, they had a psychologist check him and gave him medication. When I saw him today, he had some unexplained sores on his arms and not a single shirt in his wardrobe. Nobody had any answers. Despite arriving early to attend church with him (which is conducted within the premises), nobody bothered to bring the residents with memory issues down. Seems like there were only 3 people handling the entire unit. I ended up taking 4 of the residents upstairs myself. What would have happened if I hadn't been there? The decorations that used to be there in the main area are gone too. It's just bare, uninspiring walls now. I'm incredibly disappointed and I'm researching for other places for my dad. This place has fallen from grace.

"Great care and coordinator, with planned upgrades for better experience."
liked this place a lot. The person who helps out is super nice. She pays close attention and talks to your family to make sure everyone’s happy with choosing this place. It’s clean and friendly, and even though it’s a bit older, they’re planning to fix it up soon, which is cool. There are enough staff for the residents, who all seem neat and tidy. No crazy outfits here! The only downside is there’s no courtyard for Memory Care folks, but I still think it’s worth checking out. Plus, they’re always available, which is comforting.

"About What You’d Expect"
Greenfield of Stafford has been mostly okay. They do their best with the care they offer. As long as you don’t expect constant one-on-one care, the service is pretty good. The staff are caring and work hard.

"Comfortable place with caring staff and well-kept grounds"
Greenfield is close to I-95, making it easy to get to. The staff is helpful and caring. The grounds are well-kept with benches for residents to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air on warm days. The price is similar to other places we visited, and I felt at ease with the administrators.
