"Good fit for loved ones with responsive staff and meal choices"
My loved one seems to fit in well here. The staff are professional and skilled. There are some changes in management, but it's not a problem. Overall, it's a good place, and I would recommend it to others. The staff communicate well with our family and answer our questions quickly. Residents get three meals a day with different choices.

"Caring staff make Morningside of Charlottesville a top choice"
Overall, the staff seemed to really care about the residents and tried hard to build relationships with them. I would suggest Morningside of Charlottesville to anyone who is looking.

"Lacking Accessibility and Staff Presence: Not Ideal for Seniors"
I was worried about this place. When we arrived, nobody was at the front desk. Plus, the staff seemed too pushy. When we went to the back patio, the doors were locked, and we couldn't get back in. We tried three different doors, but none were wheelchair accessible. This wouldn't be suitable for my parents who need help moving around. Also, I didn't see any residents during my visit. Overall, I didn't have a good feeling about it.

"Mixed Feelings About Nearby Assisted Living"
Our family visited the assisted living facility in person, and it was okay. It didn’t leave a strong impression. The community seemed nice, and the people were friendly. However, we liked that it was only a short drive from work.

"Morningside Falls Short for Independent Living"
We wanted a place for independent living, but unfortunately, Morningside doesn’t provide that. Plus, it felt a bit too institutional for our liking.

"Affordable, Friendly Assisted Living Community"
I enjoyed this community. The rooms in the other facility were just a bit more to my liking. It’s affordable, with a friendly and social atmosphere.

"Clean and friendly, but has some staffing issues"
The first thing we noticed was how clean the community is—there are no bad smells at all. The activities director who left was great and always had plenty of things for everyone to do, but now we're not sure what activities are available. Despite this, we would still suggest this place to others. Our only issue right now, which seems to be a problem for many places, is staffing. There aren’t enough nurses and CNAs, so sometimes they don’t refill our loved one’s medication on time.

"A Compassionate Answer to Our Family's Needs"
You can't find a better place than Morningside! They were with us every step of the way and were always kind, caring, thoughtful, and especially compassionate. [Name removed] and the team have lots of experience, both personally and professionally, which helps them truly understand how to help your loved one move into assisted living. Morningside was truly an answer to our prayers! They set the standard for memory care by providing a safe and engaging environment for all the residents. We are grateful every day knowing our Mom is cared for with such skill and kindness. From the start, you'll get all the support you need to help transition and comfort not only the new resident but the whole family too.

"Adequate facility, feels more like a hospital than a home."
When it comes to basics, this place has got them covered. But, it feels more like a nursing home than an assisted living place. Inside, it felt more like a hospital than apartments. Good news is, they allow pets. Bad news, there's no washer/dryer in the rooms. They did offer to let my mom stay for a trial of three months to see if she liked it, which was kind of cool, even though the details might be tricky to work out.

"Respectful Environment with Varied Care Options, Beware of Capacity Limitations"
This place focuses a lot on making sure residents feel respected. They offer help for living and memory care but not nursing care. If someone needs hospice, they can arrange it. They have great physical therapy PT and occupational therapy OT services. There's only a nurse around during the day. Veterans don't have to pay a community fee. Rent starts at $3400 for a small studio without a kitchenette. A bigger one-bedroom apartment costs $5000 each month. The most care you can get costs $1030 every month. This covers everything for someone who's bedridden and needs help with bathing, going to the bathroom, and eating. If you need help managing medications, it costs $285 or $480 more every month. Veterans can get a 5% discount each month through VA benefits. There are 80 residents out of a possible 115, which might mean there are often empty rooms.

"Nice Community Tour"
Morningside of Charlottesville seemed like a pleasant community. During our tour, they were busy updating the facilities. Most of the rooms were shared. Ultimately, we opted for a different community based on our care requirements.

"Unsettled by Morningside's Changes"
Our experience at Morningside of Charlottesville isn't quite what we expected. The big reason we moved here was to join the rehab exercise programs, but we haven't been able to participate so far. New managers, changes in the staff, and lots of people leaving might be causing this problem. The managers told us internet would be covered in the cost, but we've been having to front the money first and they've promised to pay us back. We haven't seen the bill they were supposed to email us yet. Some of the staff don't seem to be kind and gentle with residents, in fact, they come off as rather sharp. The call buttons weren't working at one point, which upset residents who needed to use the bathroom. On the other hand, the food has gotten better since we moved in. We're not sure what we'll do next.

"Mixed feelings about food, but overall nice assisted living community."
The staff here are really nice, always caring and helpful. They make sure everything is clean which is good. But, the food isn't great, that's my only complaint. They're trying to make it better though. The people who help are nice but sometimes they don't have enough help. They have lots of things to do, especially music which my loved one likes. The area is nice and the rooms have a good view. They're really good at rehab too. I'd say it's a good place.

"Mom loved her stay at this community!"
I can’t say enough about the awesome care my mom got here. When they picked her up from the nursing home, someone sat with her and explained everything. They were really on top of things and great advocates for her. The food was tasty, healthy, and there were lots of choices. We’d definitely use this place again if we need more respite care.”

"Great place with caring staff and positive changes!"
From the moment we toured Morningside, I really liked it, and my mom did too. The staff is very friendly and skilled; they really care about the residents. They made her move there go smoothly. We feel very good about the place. She’s doing therapy there and now uses a walker instead of a wheelchair. They are renovating right now, so it’s a bit messy, but they’re working hard on it. I’m glad we visited before the renovations started. It’s a lovely place.

"Warm, Caring Assisted Living Facility with Friendly Staff and Clean Environment"
This place is really nice and caring. The people who work here are super caring and friendly. The place is always clean. They do a lot of stuff for the people who live here. We're happy with everything so far. It's a good deal for what you get. The care is going well. Everything has been really good. It's a nice place to be. I can't say anything about the activities because my family member hasn't tried them yet.

"Mom's Stay at Morningside: We're Content So Far"

"Seems fine so far"
He's only been there a few weeks, but right now the price seems okay. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to afford it. I'd like them to lower it, though. The care seems good—they're really attentive and try to get him involved. I'm happy about that. They have activities, and since he has a lot of medical issues, they call me often to keep me informed.
