"Great staff, good food, easy move-in at CSL"
The residents get treated with respect and care. Sometimes communication isn't great. The staff is wonderful and caring. Moving in was easy. The food is good and there's plenty of it. I would recommend CSL.

"Assisted Living Home Fails to Meet Expectations Due to Limited Staff"
This assisted living home was almost always short on staff, which probably breaks some laws. Some days, they only had one person taking care of everything, with the medical and reception staff having to help. So the 15 or 16 people living there didn't get clean properly, and some even sat in dirty clothes or got bed sores. Their rooms were not cleaned well, and the floors were hardly ever mopped. The cabinets in the kitchen were gross and sticky. I don't think they cleaned them even once in the five weeks we were there. The carpet was really dirty. They did take out the garbage a lot though. One staff member and I didn't get along, and I still don't know why. She was mad but wouldn't talk to me about it. Some other staff were nice but some kept to themselves. I think they tried to care for the residents, but not having enough staff made it hard to do a good job. I did hear some staff speak harshly to residents, but overall they were nice. The food seemed kind of cheap and there weren't many choices. The residents watched TV a lot or colored, but didn't get much one on one time. Given how unclean the place was and the shortage of staff, it didn't feel like we got our money's worth. If they fixed these issues, the price would be fair. The Memory Care Director deserves a "5". She worked really hard. But the director, who's not there anymore thankfully, didn't help her out enough.

"Friendly Community, Mixed Management"
We really like this place because everyone is friendly, and it’s small enough that everyone knows each other. The staff know all the residents by name and are helpful when you ask. But there’s a downside: sometimes things don’t get done—like laundry and housekeeping. It seems they’re either short-staffed or not well-managed. Also, figuring out who’s in charge can be confusing.

"Happy with Charter Senior Living of Williamsburg"
We had to move my husband from another place that Charter took over as we were leaving. We were very unhappy there, but they changed hands after a month. We moved him to Charter Senior Living of Williamsburg, and we were very happy with them. They were very kind and good to my husband, and he was happy with them too.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
My family member didn't stay long, had a stroke soon after arrival. They kinda met her needs. We were told not to visit for a month, so we couldn't see what was happening. You should ask questions to know how things are going; I had to call to check on her. I had to call because I didn't hear anything after a week. They need better communication; they should give updates on how new residents are doing. She was in their memory care unit, and we couldn't visit. I saw activities, but not where she was involved. They have lots of activities for memory care, though. They wanted us to stay away so she could settle in without feeling homesick. I think they're doing a good job; other residents seemed fine. The place was very clean; they did well on that. Communication was too general; they're good at it. The director sent texts with general info, but I wanted personal updates about her since I couldn't visit - and I had to call for that because I didn't know.

"Older facility with nice O-shaped design, lacks carpeted floors."
Morningside is an older facility with a worn look, but it's still quite pleasant. We were impressed by the building's shape—it's like a big 'O' with a central atrium for residents. One downside for us was the absence of carpeting; all the floors are cold concrete.

"Mixed Experience with Morningside Assisted Living"
Initially, there was a smell in my mother-in-law's room. After we told the staff, they fixed it. The front desk was always nice, and all the staff we met were friendly too. Sometimes, the dining room staff could be a bit friendlier. The care is great though. My mother-in-law doesn't join community activities much, but they do well with family events. We feel Morningside is worth the cost.
