"Nice environment but room cleaning needs improvement, second best"
The common areas and landscaping are really nice here. They also decorate well for every holiday. My mom needs full-time care, and her room is often not clean and the bed isn't always made. They were short on staff until recently, so things are improving. She has been in about six places in New York and Virginia. I’d say this is the second best one.

"Great services and staff, but items sometimes go missing"
The services here are great and seem worth the cost. I'm a bit disappointed that some treats and items go missing, but that's probably normal at any facility. Terra Bella was the best place we visited for the price, and their staff was caring, friendly, and professional. The areas were bright and well-kept.

"Communication issues, mixed nursing care."
I hoped for better. Care is okay, communication lacking. Mixed nurse experiences.

"Disappointing Experience at Terrabella Pheasant Ridge"
We hated Terrabella Pheasant Ridge. It looked old and dirty. The workers weren't nice. It cost too much.

"Great care and food, but more encouragement needed for activities"
My loved one is in a safe place, the food is good, and overall, it’s a really nice facility. The staff are very patient with the residents. I like seeing how they interact with the residents who are out and about. The activities are good, but they could do better at encouraging more people to leave their rooms and join in. If I had to choose again, I’d still pick TerraBella Pheasant Ridge.

"Areas for Improvement in Assisted Living Community"
The Director is a really good director, and the community is nice, but there are areas that need improvement.

"Great Location and New Ownership"
We picked this place mostly because it's close by. They just got a new owner and now it's called Terrabella.

"Organization Falls Short on Promises"
Many reviews here are written by staff. I wrote letters to local and headquarters, but got no reply. The organization doesn't keep their promises. Don't trust them. My mom was in memory care, and they damaged her furniture and lost her things. The contract says no charge after death, but we were billed for extra weeks. Despite this, most staff were caring, and the activity director is great.

"Good tour, but small units and low resident interaction"
We toured this facility in person and liked the salesperson a lot—they did a great job. But the units were smaller than we hoped, and the community seemed older. We also noticed there wasn’t much interaction between residents.

"Neglect and Prejudice in Assisted Living Facility"
My buddy stays here and is poorly treated by another person living here. We've tipped off the management, but they haven't done anything about it. The people running this place have issues with folks being gay. When residents are mean to each other, the staff and those in charge just let it slide.

"Small Rooms, Friendly Staff"
I enjoyed the location and the view. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, the rooms were quite small compared to other facilities.

"Great Memory Care Center, signing up for Respite Care"
We didn't tour the Senior Living Center, but we did check out their new Memory Care Center. It was really good, and we're planning to sign up for Respite Care there in October. Thanks!

"Amazing staff and care! Highly recommend this place."
This place has amazing staff! I can't say enough good things about them and all they've done for my dear friend. They've done many evaluations to make sure she gets the care she needs and have greatly improved her nutrition. The nurses are fantastic too; they check on her three times during the night to keep her comfortable. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

""Beware: Overpriced, Poorly-Maintained Alzheimer's Center""
Awful assistance at Alzheimer's facility - my family member experienced superb treatment at the rehabilitation place on the hill, so we expected the same level at the nursing/Alzheimer's care facility. However, we found them living in unsanitary conditions and they've even contracted infections. Given the steep cost of $5400 a month, it's complete highway robbery. Search elsewhere!

"Quality Care and Companionship for Mom at Pheasant Ridge"
I really liked touring Pheasant Ridge's facilities and decided to move my mom into the assisted living side. I was impressed by how caregivers paid attention to the residents, the extra services they provided like meal and activity reminders, and the fact that my mom wouldn't be alone in her room all day like before. That used to make her feel really sad at the old place.

"Perfect Choice for Mom—Wonderful Care and Atmosphere"
My mother’s health recently worsened, so my siblings and I needed to find a good place for her. We wanted the best care, so we checked around the Valley. When we toured this facility, it was a great experience. As soon as we walked in, the place felt welcoming and warm. The staff was very friendly, and the room choices were excellent. We had three options, and we let my mother choose her favorite. She picked a room with a living room, two separate bedrooms, a private shower and bathroom, and a kitchenette. Her room has a beautiful view of the mountains that she loves. We joined her for lunch, and the food was amazing. Instead of a tray like other places, she got a menu with two entree options, two sides, and dessert. She also loves that breakfast is made to order! The maintenance team helped with her move and was very accommodating. For her first week, they even assigned someone just for her to help her get used to everything and all the fun activities. The nursing staff keeps me updated on her care, which is very reassuring. This was the best choice for our mother, and we wouldn't have it any other way. She loves her new home and new friends. I highly recommend Pheasant Ridge Senior Living for anyone looking for a trustworthy facility!

"Best Care for Your Loved One"
My mom has been at Pheasant Ridge Senior Living for 3 years. I'm always impressed with the care she gets, the social activities, and the good food. Whenever I have concerns, I can talk to the ED, and they fix it. They give a personal touch to all residents, and they make mom happy. She has made great friends and is happy. I checked out other places before choosing Pheasant Ridge. They are the best in Roanoke for truly caring for your parent.

"Adequate for Independent Living but Lacks Consistent, Adequate Staffing"
There seems to always be just one assistant for more than sixty people living here, which is really difficult at times. It's tough to get staff to respond quickly because they're always so busy. There's a lot of changing faces among the staff, which means the care isn't always great because people are always learning new things. Also, some folks need more help than others but we're all mixed together. The way they charge for rooms seems a bit unusual and seems like they just want to make a sale. Because of these issues, there doesn't seem to be enough money for the staffing they need. This keeps the problems going like a cycle, including the busy staff and the high number of staff members who leave. That being said, if you can take care of yourself pretty well, then this place isn't too bad. If not, it's probably best to look somewhere else.

"Perfect choice for Grandmother’s happiness and care"
I moved my grandmother to this facility. It was tough because she lived far away, but we needed her in Roanoke so my mom and I could look after her. At first, it was hard for her to adjust to a new place and people. But she quickly got used to it and did really well. The staff were very nice, the meals were great, and the activities were fantastic. Choosing Pheasant Ridge was the right choice, and it was wonderful to see her happy and well cared for. We couldn’t have made a better decision. She kept thanking us for the extra time she got and for the new friends she made at Pheasant Ridge.

"Clean, friendly facility with slow response times to call button."
Our time at Pheasant Ridge was short, but it's a really nice place. The building is clean and tidy, and the staff are all super nice. I did have a small problem with how long it took for someone to come when I pressed the call button in my room, though.

"Grateful Companion of Residents Appreciates Dedicated Staff"
I worked as a private companion for a lovely 95-year-old lady who has since passed away. The staff did their best to respond to our calls quickly, although sometimes it seemed like they didn't have enough caregivers for all the residents. The facility meets the standard for assisted living in terms of caregiver-to-resident ratio. My parents have lived there for almost a year. We often need to adjust their care because my mom has kidney issues and my dad has memory problems. Over the past six weeks, my dad has made incredible progress thanks to the very dedicated staff. They helped him socialize and regain his ability to walk after several hospital stays had made him forget how. I'm proud to say they got him back on his feet. I’m very thankful for all the compassionate staff, and I enjoy working there when I can.

"Best Support During Mom's Memory Care Transition"
Taking my mom to memory care was tough, but necessary. When I looked at different places, the staff at Pheasant Ridge knew the most about my mom's condition. They were really helpful with every part of the transition.

"Nice place, overall"
I think they've done a good job taking care of my loved one. The care staff is friendly and does their job well. However, I've had some issues with the management. They've let family members who shouldn't have a say make decisions, causing me trouble. The facility looks nice and clean, but the common areas feel a bit cramped.

"Top-notch facility with caring staff and great services"
This facility is the best I've seen. I've worked in this field, and this place stands out. The management is relaxed and skilled. Everyone enjoys working here, so everything runs smoothly. The entrance has a helpful receptionist who knows her job. Medications are given with great care, like a top hospital. You can tell the medical staff genuinely cares about the residents. The dining room feels like a nice restaurant with a menu. They also provide travel assistance for appointments. This place is the best around. A Place For Mom, you represent top quality. The office staff are the best, caring and naturally excellent.

"Welcoming Home-Like Atmosphere!"
This place is really nice! Feels just like home. We're thinking about checking it out more. The main nurse was super helpful and told us all we needed to know. They're even up for helping us with the next steps, like getting our Aunt a tour.
