"Mixed Feelings on Potomac Place Assisted Living Tour"

We visited Potomac Place while looking for care for our family member. The tour and facility were good. It was my second pick, but I had concerns about their Memory Care policies.

"Friendly staff and quick move-in, recommended assisted living community."

The staff's kindness stands out; they welcomed and helped our loved one settle in quickly and comfortably. They understood our needs and were very accommodating. This community offers good value compared to others nearby, and we would confidently suggest it to other families.

"Cozy setting, small for some; mixed feelings on size."

The Potomac Place tour felt cozy to me, but too small for my husband.

"Meal Delivery Concerns and Activity Participation in Assisted Living"

This place is pretty straightforward. Right now, they're in lockdown, so they bring meals to the residents. Since my loved one is far away, the food arrives warm. It would be better if they could switch it up and deliver to different rooms first, so everyone gets hot meals. They offer a bunch of activities, but my loved one hasn't joined in much. I think it would help if someone knocked on his door to remind him about the activities.

"Assisted Living Tour Review"

Our family visited in person. The tour was alright. We kept it in mind but preferred another place. It was pleasant, felt cozy, and the staff were very friendly.

"Mixed Feelings: Praise and Concerns at Potomac Place Assisted Living"

I really liked this place. The memory care unit at Potomac Place wasn't great. Overall, it's a good community, but we moved our loved one out. I think changes are needed in the memory care unit.

"Concerns about safety in assisted living facility with kitchenettes"

I liked going to Potomac Place. I'm not thinking about it for my mom because the rooms have small kitchens with electric stoves. As my mom gets older, she forgets things more often. Sometimes she forgets about things cooking on the stove until she smells something burning. I don't want my mom to have a stove she can use.

"Dissatisfaction and Concern Rampant Among Residents"

You shouldn't bring a family member here. The quality of services and care has dropped, causing worry among the residents and workers. A lot of the staff are new and unfamiliar faces show up all the time. It sometimes feels like there's no cleaning, repair work, or nursing care done. Plenty of residents are displeased and telling their families. The management and corporate heads don't seem to care.

I really like Potomac Place. It’s near my home, fits my budget, and is really nice. I’ll definitely think about it when the time comes.

"“Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility”"

I think they need more staff, and sometimes the cafeteria workers aren’t very attentive to the residents. The activities are pretty much the same every day.

"Unsupportive in Times of Crisis"

My friend's dad got sick and the folks at this place were mean and told him he had to leave immediately. They didn't help my friend at all in figuring out what to do next. There's no other family and my friend used to visit and eat with his father and the other people there almost every day.

"Facility Unhelpful When Friend's Dad Grew Ill"

My buddy's dad got really sick and the staff were just mean, telling him to leave right away. They did not help my friend to understand what's going on. His dad has no other family, and my friend would go see him almost every day and even eat with him and the other residents.

"Great food, friendly staff, and affordable prices!"

This place is great. The food tastes amazing, like eating out at a nice restaurant. The staff is super friendly and takes excellent care of her. Their prices are very fair and sometimes even lower than other places. They have received great reviews and won many awards, so it was clearly our top pick.

"Lovely common areas overshadowed by average living spaces and pushy staff."

I really liked the food options and the size of the community. However, it cost more than other places I was looking at. They kept calling and checking in a lot, which felt a bit too much. The staff were friendly and the place looked nice, but it was farther away for us. Also, they didn't offer independent living, only different levels of help. I wasn't a fan of how the rooms were set up; some of the bathrooms were connected to the living room instead of the bedroom, and the rooms were small. The carpet wasn't very soft either. While the community areas and dining rooms were beautiful, the apartments weren't as great as the rest of the place.

"Lack of Metro Access made it a dealbreaker for us."

This place is really nice, just like Tall Oaks. The food is actually really good, with options like cafeteria style and made-to-order specials. They even have a salad bar that people really seem to enjoy. The dining area is a big sunroom with lots of light, making it feel really open and pleasant. But, unfortunately, Metro Access doesn't go to Woodbridge, which was a dealbreaker for us. We couldn't get her to her doctor's appointments without it, and that would have been a full-time job.

"Needs more creative problem-solving overall positive experience."

This place is really clean, and the people there are super nice. I think they take good care of my mom, but she's only been there a little while, so we'll have to wait and see. They have activities she can do, which is good. The only issue I had was when she went outside one day by mistake. They suggested I hire someone to keep her company, which costs a lot. I wish they'd offered other solutions first. But I managed to find someone quickly from the list they gave me. It bothered me that they didn't try other ideas first. But when my mom got really upset one time, they called me right away. They have nurses who are certified, which is good. The apartments are bigger too, which is nice.

"Home-like Feel with Fire Station Nearby, Larger Rooms, and Amenities"

This place feels just like home, especially with the fire station nearby. Surrounded by trees, it's so peaceful. The rooms are bigger than expected, which is nice. But watch out, there are extra charges for things like phone, cable, and personal laundry. Cell service isn't great here, so keep that in mind. When you eat, they have assigned seating in the dining area. There are plenty of spots to hang out with others, which is cool. But if you need a lot of occupational or physical therapy, they have smaller facilities here, run by Genesis.

"Cozy, clean assisted living with short term options."

This place is small and cozy. I really liked it because it was clean. They also have short-term rental options available.

"Mixed Feelings"

The place was okay. It had some good things, but there were also some not-so-great aspects.
