"Mixed Dining Experience, But Overall Recommendable Assisted Living Facility"
The move-in was smooth and helpful. The dining staff and kitchen could use better training and be more friendly. I would rate the food as average, like a C-. Overall, though, it's a nice place to live, and I would recommend it considering the value.

"Facilities Shine, Care Needs Polish""
The facilities are awesome, but staff cleaning can be slow, and nursing care isn't always the best.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Better Staff and Communication"
When our friends visit, they notice the same issues. The staff should be more active and aware. Communication is a problem. We've sent emails, texts, and made calls that go unanswered for weeks - it's frustrating. Promises made are not kept. Things go missing and are never found. The staff's attitude towards patients should be more caring. We're looking for more empathy and compassion towards patients who are struggling. Sometimes, just changing how they say things would help, not to mention providing better care.

"Sunrise Strives for Improvement"
Sunrise is a nice place, but they need better management. Communication between staff and residents is a challenge. We've had to push for more structure. Salespeople and staff don't always agree. Overall, it's improving, and with better management, it could be top-notch.

"Solid Assisted Living Facility with Excellent Staff Communication"
This community suited our needs well. The staff communicates well with our family. They serve three meals daily with options for residents. Care includes managing medications, helping with dressing and bathing, and ensuring hygiene.

The facility looked great, and the tour guide knew a lot. Not right for my loved one.

"Terrible conditions, care doesn't cut it."
The living conditions here are awful. Both my folks stayed here for a short time, but didn't stick around. They provide mediocre care and don't pay attention to important issues.

"Nice but No Patio, Far Location"
The place looked nice and was big. The apartment didn't have a patio which we wanted. The tour was good, and the person showing us around was nice. We didn't choose them because they're too far from where we wanted to be.

"Cozy Assisted Living with Friendly Staff and Child Visits"
I like how it feels like a small home and it's near a school, so kids visit often. The third floor is for folks who can take care of themselves, but they can switch floors if they need to later. The workers are really nice and welcoming.

"Clean and friendly place, staff takes good care of residents."
My family member wasn't at Sunrise of Fairfax for long, but I think they did a pretty good job. Everything was clean, the people who work there are nice, and they make sure the residents are looked after well.

"Concerns About Communication at Assisted Living Facility"
I think they kept telling me to convince my parent not to see the place as just a temporary home. They said if my parent tries to leave, she'll have to go to a more expensive facility that's like a lock down. I don't think they should say this in the first few months because it's normal for older people to have a hard time getting used to a new place, especially if they have dementia.

"Nice Place with Familiar Layout"
Pretty nice. It's a lot like the place we came from, with different floors and an elevator. I think she might get lost finding her room.

"Facility Close to Home Lacked Needed Security and Care Options"
We really liked this place. It's super close to our home, which is awesome. But we were bummed because they didn't have the wander guard thing we needed. It was clean and cozy, but kinda small. Also, they didn't have a special unit for people with dementia. That would've been helpful.

"Assisted Living Facility: Staff Shortage Caused Minor Issues"
We've had some small problems, like mix-ups with medication. The place doesn't have enough workers, which I think caused the issues. But I believe things are better now, fingers crossed.
