"Compassionate staff helped mom improve after tough start. Highly recommend."
My mom came here feeling really sick from another place she stayed before. The people here acted quickly and took her to the hospital right away. After almost a month, when she came back, the staff really looked after her and helped her get better. I think this place is great. Big thanks to managing director and her team for taking such good care of her.

"Mixed experiences: bullying, billing issues, but nice Thanksgiving meal."
My family member feels like they're being picked on by another person living there. Also, I've had problems with being charged twice for bills, the website not taking my payment, and finding over-the-counter medications and vitamins thrown away... things like that. On a positive note, they did serve a lovely Thanksgiving dinner last Thursday.

"Mixed Feelings About Sunrise of Springfield"
I visited Sunrise of Springfield. It's nice, super clean. But, I didn't see lots of staff. People living there seemed to need more help than my family member.

"Meal Quality Influenced Decision Not to Choose Assisted Living"
Our family visited this place in person for a tour. The tour was nice, but one of the main reasons we wanted to choose a community was because of their meals. Since we didn't get a chance to try one, we decided not to pick this place.

"Almost Chose Sunrise, But Location Didn't Quite Suit Our Needs"
We visited Sunrise of Springfield and had a really good time. Everything seemed nice when we first got there. We thought this place was really good and almost picked it. We ended up going with another place because it wasn't close to where our friends and family are.

"Cozy Assisted Living with Welcoming Staff and Activities"
I really liked this place and would definitely think about it if we could afford it. The people who work there were super nice and made us feel really welcome. The apartments were nice, and the whole place felt like home. It's very close to where we live, which is convenient. Catholic priests come often, which is nice if you're Catholic. There are also a lot of fun things to do here.

"Lack of Visual Tour Raises Questions"
We did a virtual tour, but they didn't actually show us around the building. We only talked about costs and menus. I wasn't very impressed. The cost was okay, but without a visual tour, I wondered why.

"Comfortable and Clean Community"
We really liked Sunrise of Springfield. We scheduled a last-minute tour, and the place was clean with activities going on. The reminiscence floor was also clean, felt like home, and the residents were busy. The rooms and layout were nice. Since Dad needs high-level care, he would get the top tier of services here. We're figuring out how to cover the $8100/month fee. We have to wait before moving Dad in, but we feel comfortable with this place for him. Thank you.

"Community Needs Some Improvements, But Overall Decent"
The care here could be better at responding. The place is clean and tidy. The regular staff isn't always around when you need them. Food's okay. They have lots of fun activities, but they often get canceled. Families should visit before deciding.

"Close by Community Works Well for My Sister and Me"
The most important thing for me was having my sister nearby so I can visit her often. The community here is small, which I really like. She's adjusting well and still getting used to things. There are cats, dogs, and birds, but I don’t see them much. The staff is very friendly.

Plus, the location is perfect for us to visit often. This community is very active and engages with the residents; they always recognize us when we stop by.

"Friendly Tour with Lots of Activities"
The community was clean and nice when I visited. The director who showed me around was friendly and knew a lot. They have many activities available. In the end, we chose not to move my loved ones here.

"Caring Environment!"
My mom stayed here for a few weeks, and she got excellent care. The place was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a good experience, although she didn't eat much—I'm not sure if it was because of the food.

"My Mixed Experiences At Assisted Living"
During my dad's brief stay, the staff were genuinely nice, and I'd endorse this facility. However, like many similar institutions, they seemed short on staff. The day my father passed away, they contacted me through cell phone voicemails despite having my home phone listed for emergencies. Unfortunately, they didn't reference the correct contact info, which left me feeling somewhat perturbed, as it prevented me from being present with my dad. My father often mentioned how gentle a particular caregiver was during his daily bathing routines. The staff were also very understanding, supportive and thoughtful after he passed on. Initially, they weren't delivering the promised care. But when confronted about the contracted arrangements, they made corrections. So, my advice for anyone with loved ones in such facilities is staying actively involved.

"Wonderful staff, amazing care for my mom with dementia!"
I can’t believe how much the staff sacrifices for their patients! They treat every person with such care. My mom has dementia, and she’s getting excellent care at Sunrise of Springfield. The people here are just amazing and always go the extra mile.

"Sunrise Assisted Living: Steep Cost, Poor Coordination & Customer Service"
I'm not happy with the service here. The staff doesn't seem to know what's going on and it's like no one is in charge. My mom's room was a total mess when we got there on the first day. When she had to go to the hospital, the information they gave us was all wrong and they never followed up to see how she was doing. Sunrise said they were going to give us our money back but that hasn't happened yet. But I did get a bill for $14,120 after we had already paid for everything, even though my mom only stayed there for two weeks. When I called to ask about the bill, they just told me to ignore it. They didn't even apologize or admit they had messed up. Overall, our experience was not good and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

"Information Session Needed"
It's only been around six weeks. People are nice. More organization desired. Unsure how things work. An info session would help. Some activities unclear. Had trouble with paperwork for leaving town. No prior notice given.

"Very happy with my father's care!"

"A most compassionate community"
I'm sad to say my father passed away recently. He lived at Sunrise of Springfield for six weeks before he passed. Everyone there, from the top management to the caregivers, was great—well-trained, loving, and always ready to help my Dad. The staff was wonderful to me as well. They handled everything so well. The place was clean and had many activities. I recommend Sunrise of Springfield to anyone who wants their loved ones well taken care of. I'm very grateful for Sunrise of Springfield.

"Assisted Living Center: Clean, Friendly, Active, Personal Attention"
They're doing pretty well so far. It's really clean, and the staff is super friendly. They have lots of activities during the day. The food is really tasty. We like that it's small, so they can give lots of personal attention, and they always seem to have enough staff around. The location is nice, and there's a lot to like about it. I appreciated what the staff said about keeping everyone active; it feels like a safe place. They even check in on my relative if she's been in her room all day and make sure she comes down for dinner. They put a lot of effort into preserving residents' dignity.

"Sunny and Friendly Assisted Living Near Home and Fun Amenities"
This assisted living place is really cool! It's bright and sunny with lots of friendly people. It's super clean, and it's near my house, which is awesome. Plus, it's close to shopping, baseball fields, and soccer fields, so there's always something fun to do nearby. Outside, there's a great walking path and a porch with rocking chairs where you can relax. They even have a place for gardening and grilling out. It's just a really nice place to be!

"Beautiful place, would recommend despite higher cost!"
I loved this place! It was a little more expensive than she could afford, but I will definitely recommend it to others. It’s such a beautiful place and really close to the I-95 exit for Springfield. This was our second choice.

"Underwhelmed by Assisted Living Facility"
We ended up putting our loved one here for a little bit when a family member needed surgery. The facility looks okay and they keep it clean, they also take good care of the outdoor spaces. But, the lack of staff around was really noticeable. They kept patients with memory problems on a locked floor, but there was still freedom for those patients to just roam. When I came to see my mom, other residents, both men and women, would just walk in and out of her room. We also found when we were moving her out after her stay, some of her clothes were gone and she had clothes from other people in her drawers. It left us feeling pretty uneasy and we didn't feel comfortable with the idea of Mom staying here full time.

"Clean and Friendly, Food Quality Could Improve"
The facility is clean, friendly, and helpful. They set up my mom's care plan with showers and cleaning. They answered many of our questions and were very informative. However, the lunch and dinner food could be better.
