"Exceptional Care and Warmth at Memory Care Unit"
My mother-in-law lives in the Memory Care Unit here, and the care she gets is outstanding. The staff who help her are kind, caring, and really understand her needs. Whenever I had any concerns, they were quickly taken care of. The administrative staff are very professional and truly care about the residents. Every time I visit, I’m welcomed with a smile. I think they’re fantastic and do an incredible job!

"Cooperative staff, affordable, recommended."
The staff were really cooperative with my sister and me. I had no complaints at all. They worked well with her and met her needs. The facility is pretty affordable, which was the main reason we chose them. Her health declined, so we had to move her to a place that provided more care. Overall, I would recommend Blue Ridge to other families.

"Friendly but Needs Better Response Times"
This was a short stay. On the weekend, it took a long time for staff to answer the call lights. Some staff members were hard to understand because of their accents. They need to be more attentive and improve their response times. They were friendly, and the introduction to the facility went smoothly. However, they charged for a full month even though my loved one was only there for a few days and billed us for medications she never took.

"Considering Alternatives"
Before choosing this community for your loved one, consider checking out other places. The care here is okay, but I'm currently exploring a different community that might better meet her needs.

"Great care, good food, but a bit pricey"
It’s a good place for our loved one. Everyone is nice and helpful. They quickly address any problems we have. My family thinks the food is very good. The activities look fun. It’s just a bit expensive.

"Avoid! Neglected Facility and Carelessness Towards Resident's Needs"
Stay Away from this Care Facility!" Honestly, I can't condone anyone sending their loved ones to this facility. It's seriously lacking, whether it comes to being detail-oriented, providing good customer service, or even just responding to us in a timely manner. Warmth and kindness? Those seem to be absent, especially during this Covid pandemic. They talk big about setting up remote meetings, but they never bother to ring you up. Even if by chance you do manage to set them up, no one brings your family member down for it. Now, I don't have a problem with their Covid rules, they rightly ask all visitors to wear masks. But, when it comes to patients - those who are severely sick or even those who are simply lonesome - I don't get the sense that the staff is really committed to making families feel their loved ones are cared for. There's always some kind of resistance. Plus, not being able to regularly see your family member, you're left in the dark about what's happening. The few times we could visit his room, it was disgustingly dirty. Blood stains on the walls, dirt in the bath, ants everywhere—even in the bed. They were totally non-responsive when we brought these issues to their attention. He's now suffering from awful bed sores and has been moved to hospice care. We're totally in the dark about whether they've been turning him regularly, as they should be doing.

"Mixed Communication Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Our time here's been short because of COVID, but we'd suggest this place to others. We talked to one of the helpers on our family member's floor, and that went well. However, the updates about everyday stuff could improve a bit.

"Mixed Experience at Blue Ridge Senior Living"
Because of COVID restrictions, we couldn't visit inside, and no activities were happening during our loved one's stay. Still, we'd recommend Blue Ridge Senior Living if it suits their needs.

"Good value, clean place, but lacks activities and social interaction"
It's a good place for the money. It was clean, and I wouldn’t put my loved one just anywhere. It was definitely the best value I could find. I only interacted with a few staff members, and they were great. They’ve done a good job keeping me updated since I can’t visit due to Covid. They haven’t offered activities, though, and it would have been nice for her to have some social life. She hasn’t interacted much with the other residents.

"Great place with friendly staff and fun activities"
I'm very happy here. My needs are taken care of, and I like spending time with the other people living here. The activity director is awesome.

"Good staff and food, but some areas need improvement."
I think some things are really good, but others could be better. Most employees are great, but some could improve. The food is usually good, but sometimes the presentation and cooking could be better. I really like the three main people—they are very approachable.

"Challenges Faced at Assisted Living: Symphony Manor's Unending Problems"
Symphony Manor, like most assisted living facilities, has a seemingly endless rotation of management and nursing staff. It's not unlikely to have a terrific nurse caring for you one day, only to find them replaced a few weeks later. Much like the weather, management is ever-changing. Just when you think you have things sorted with one director, a new one arrives and the process starts anew. And don't expect your bill to be clearly broken down - it's anyone's guess what you're actually being charged for. There's been times I had to bring my own records to help them figure it out due to their constant system changes or other excuses. While it may look decent enough on the surface, don't be fooled. You sign up for a certain rate, but soon it mysteriously doubles - and it's inconsistent from one month to the next. It seems all these places have the same issues and employ the same techniques. If you're not at the facility every single day making sure things are right, you or your loved one will be taken advantage of. And don't even bother trying to speak to management; they're always too busy or conveniently absent. Despite these complaints, I stay at Symphony Manor because, let's face it, all the places are the same. At least here, you can get a good deal - for a little while, at least. I figure I'll eventually have to move and start this madness all over again.
