"Mixed staff, overall good care, best fit for loved one."

Tall Oaks has been good for us. Staff varies, but mostly good. We feel our loved one is well cared for. Chose them as best fit.

"Tall Oaks: Friendly Staff, Off-Site Appointments"

Staff is friendly, but some medical appointments require off-site transport, like hearing aid and dentistry visits. I’d recommend Tall Oaks to others.

"Great staff, minor issues, clean facility; highly recommend Tall Oaks"

The staff at Tall Oaks Assisted Living were awesome. The only problem I had was with the Therapy Director, but the Director of Nursing helped sort it out. There was some mix-up with starting therapy, but it was fixed quickly. Other than that, the staff was fantastic! The building is a bit old, but it’s always clean. I would definitely suggest Tall Oaks Assisted Living to others.

"Nightmare at Tall Oaks: Theft, Neglect and Privacy Invasion"

Tall Oaks Assisted Living was such a horrible experience. We always had to stay on their case. My mom went to her almost every day. Workers took stuff from her room, and they even used her personal bathroom that she was paying for. I wouldn't suggest this place to anybody.

"Tall Oaks review summary"

My issue with Tall Oaks is that I don't always know about [name]'s medical care. Nurses call sometimes, but I'm not informed about doctor visits. Meals in the main area are great, and [name] enjoys his ice cream. The manager is wonderful. Unsure about memory unit meals. Music program and garden are nice. [name] seems more active than other memory residents. Hoping he can go outside soon.

"Responsive Staff and Comprehensive Care: A Recommended Community"

We really like that we can call anytime and someone answers. If the person we need is busy, we leave a message and they get back to us quickly. They bring doctors to the residents, so our loved one doesn't have to leave. We would definitely recommend this community to other families.

"Good care, friendly staff, but needs fresher food"

We checked out a few places before picking Tall Oaks, and we're pretty happy with it. My loved one needs more help than most people, which makes it more expensive. But the staff is really caring and super nice. The place is clean and easy to get to for visits. I wish the food was fresher. Some of it is okay, but a lot of it tastes like cardboard.

"Good tour, but chose another place."

This place was fine, but we found a better fit elsewhere. The tour was nice and gave us good information.

"Mixed Feelings about Tall Oaks Assisted Living"

I kinda liked Tall Oaks, but I didn't like that we had to take elevators to get to our rooms. Everything else, like activities and meals, was on the first floor.

"Unpleasant Staff and Frequent Outbreaks Plague Assisted Living Facility"

My mom really didn't like this place. The tour seemed promising, but don't let that trick you. The truth is that the staff isn't nice and they aren't attentive to the residents. The people who live there are often stuck inside because of constant outbreaks of C-diff. Trying to get in touch with someone? Forget about it. I visited my mom every single day she was there, and I'm so thankful I could. The only good thing about the place are the occupational and physical therapists.

"Adaptable care during COVID-19; improving amenities and family interaction."

Due to COVID-19 challenges, acquiring tests and PPE has been tough. The facility keeps the community clean and strives to accommodate residents well. Safety and health are top priorities. Staff are responsive to families and their needs, offering timely assistance. Initially, activities were limited, but now there's one-on-one time, puzzles, crafts, bingo, live music, and more—all with social distancing. Visits are now allowed outdoors, and residents enjoy one-bedroom apartments and varied activities like s'mores on Sundays. Dining options are expanding, promising a return to normal routines soon.

"Great value, attentive staff, and happy with memory care!"

The staff here is amazing, a perfect 10 out of 10! My mom is in the memory care unit, where they offer music, singing, and arts and crafts as activities. She's a bit picky about her food, but they make sure she gets what she likes. Her room is a good size too. What impressed us the most is how great the value is for this community. We would definitely recommend it to our family. The staff is very attentive!

"Tall Oaks: Friendly Staff, Convenient Location, Some Noise"

My parents live in Tall Oaks apartments. Mom has memory issues, and Dad takes care of her. Tall Oaks is like a six-story apartment building with friendly, experienced staff. Costs are lower than fancy places. Apartments are nice and roomy. Lots of activities and visits from doctors. Food gets a bit repetitive. It's near shopping and restaurants in Reston, but you need a car. Construction noise might be an issue.

"Friendly and Caring Staff with Lots of Activities"

The staff is friendly and caring. They take the time to learn each resident’s name and connect with them personally. They are always ready to answer family members’ questions and share ways to improve the residents’ quality of life. They work hard to involve residents in many different activities.
