"Misled and Disgusted: Uninhabitable Conditions at Assisted Living Facility"
This place was infested with roaches crawling on the walls. My brother may be prepared to foot the bill, but we absolutely refuse to let our mom live here. We felt deceived by the fast-talking salesman who was less than truthful. The experience ended in our mom leaving in tears. Moreover, the bathroom was out of order and we had to use the communal one. The whole hallway reeked of urine - it was simply disgusting.

"Poor assisted living service and unprofessional nursing care"
My experience at this assisted living facility was the worst. I moved in and left within a short span. They were always late in giving medications. During my first month, the cleaning staff didn't show up at all, and the next month they appeared only 4 times. I also had to pay extra for level 2 care, but they only managed to give me 3 showers in a whole month, while it should have been twice a week. I broke my collarbone and needed help but waiting for two hours for them to respond to the help button was normal, whether I needed to go to the washroom or anything else. The nurses were really unpleasant about my medications and often made snarky comments. They didn't even bother to bring dinner on 4 different occasions. My mailbox key was useless as they claimed they didn't have a key, but the night shift staff proved otherwise. They informed me about my running out of meds on the day it happened, while they were supposed to order them from their own pharmacy. Pain medications were often locked inside someone’s office. And guess what? When I ran out, the office was locked and no one gave me any relief drugs over the weekend. I had to put up with having no hot water on three different occasions. Worst of all, they don’t have a different sounding buzzer for emergencies, and they showed no urgency regardless of the situation. They couldn't explain why they hadn’t developed a better system for this. I once asked one of the top employees if they'd want their parent staying here after what I'd been through. "No way!" was their response. I wasted a lot of cash paying for movers and the frustration was far more than any 70 year old should have to bear. That's pretty much how it was.

"Friendly Assisted Living with Room for Improvement"
We chose this community because the rent fit our budget, and they had a special sale going on. Overall, it’s a great place—the building, staff, food, and location are all good. I just wish the staff would encourage my mom to join in more activities and services.

"Assisted Living Delights: Staff, Activities, and Food Shine at The Devonshire"
We picked The Devonshire because nurses are on staff, not hired separately. Mom enjoys activities and food. Staff are friendly, know us well. Great place, recommend to others.

"Terrible Experience, Stay Far Away Unless Nearby"
This place has been a mess from the get-go. If I could give them less than one star, I absolutely would. The employees are nice, but the bosses are horrible to deal with. There are too many problems for me to even start listing. Unless you live right next door and can check in frequently, don't let anyone you love stay here.

"Mixed Feelings on Food, Overall Good Care at Assisted Living"
My loved one is happy here, but dislikes the food. We chose this community because it's closer and more convenient. They should improve the food quality. The staff is responsive, and overall, it's a good place. I would recommend it to other families.

"Convenient Assisted Living in Hampton with Room for Improvement"
Our experience has been positive. This place is in a good spot in Hampton, VA, and the neighborhood is nice. They provide two meals every day. The apartment has a full kitchen for my family member. Each floor has washers and dryers for everyone to use. The staff has been good at keeping in touch with us and our family member. The cost could be better for what you get, and they could offer better transportation for doctor visits outside of Hampton for the residents.
