"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
This place seemed like the best option in my area, and it didn't have many bad reviews. But I wouldn't recommend it. It's cheap, but the staff isn't enough, especially during off-hours. Some staff are nice, but others were rude to residents. The place is pretty bare and lacks activities for residents, especially in memory care.

"Spacious apartment, ideal community size, friendly staff; highly recommended assisted living."
The apartment was bigger than many others. The community had a good number of residents, not too few and not too many. The cost wasn't too high compared to others. Reviews were positive and the staff was nice. Overall, it's the best choice. I definitely would recommend it to other families.

"Memory Unit at The Retreat: Untrained Staff and Broken Promises"
I really wouldn't suggest picking The Retreat's Memory Unit for your family member. My mom was stuck there for eight tough months. The workers aren't trained right and don't seem to even care. When things mess up, they aren't truthful about it. They never keep their word. Despite many problems and promises to improve, nothing ever gets better. My mom should have been treated way better. Don't mess up like I did.

"Mixed Feelings About The Retreat at Berryville"
My visit to The Retreat at Berryville lasted only 15 minutes, and it didn't feel very thorough. I'm not sure if it was the usual tour guide or not. Other tours I've taken lasted at least an hour and a half. The facility itself was nice, new, and modern. However, I didn't get the warm and fuzzy feeling I was hoping for.

"Communication Lapses at The Retreat"
The Retreat didn’t live up to what we hoped for. They really need to get better at keeping families informed about what’s happening.

"Great care and clean facilities, but laundry needs improvement"
The community and bathrooms are always clean when we visit my mother-in-law. The staff talks well with family members and is very patient with everyone I’ve seen. They keep up with my mother-in-law's care and are especially patient with her. However, we think they could improve their laundry service.

"Not a Good Experience at The Retreat"
We put my dad in the memory care, but it didn't work out. He was just starting memory care. Then he had to go to the hospital. When he came back, he had to stay isolated. I visited him, and he was yelling for help. The staff didn't help him off the floor right away. I don't know how long he was yelling. My dad needed a lot of help, but they said they could handle it. I don't think they could. He went back to the hospital and never returned to The Retreat. They charged us for the room without telling us. We didn't get any of the $3000 community fee back. He stayed there for 3 nights.
