"Nice facility but had issues with staff response and COVID"

The facility is nice, and the staff is friendly. My father was well taken care of. However, we had some confusion about who to ask for help. He also caught COVID while staying there, and the response from the staff was surprising. Some nurses seemed to have colds, which might have caused the spread. Overall, the place is okay.

"Maskless Tour, Railroad Noise Disappoint"

During the visit, they didn't wear masks, and there's a railroad nearby.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living"

I expected more care, but they’re understaffed. Good for independent loved ones. Nurses respond in the evenings.

"Friendly and Well-Run Facility"

Even with all the crazy stuff going on in the world, I'm amazed at how well this place works. The Willows has stayed friendly, clean, and well-run, even with short staffing, the pandemic, and changing rules. While my dad has been here, we've had some problems, but we've always fixed them by talking to each other. Thanks to the "heroes" who work here!

"Assisted Living Falls Short on Care and Management"

The place looks nice, but they don't have enough staff. People who live there don't get enough help. The food has been getting worse for two years. The bosses don't seem to care about making things better, only about how things look.

"Avoid Facility: Poor Healthcare, Uncooperative Staff, and Subpar Food"

Do not consider this place for your loved ones. My mom's health was tremendously ignored here over years. When we eventually managed to relocate her, the staff turned uncooperative. Her toenails were grossly overgrown, her medications were mishandled, she was parched, and we hauled off 3 hefty bags of trash from her room. Staff were poor at relaying crucial health updates, the food was not senior-friendly and overall unhealthy. Most shocking, no certified nurse was available on the team and they had an alarming rate of staff changes. The list of issues goes on. We were forced to involve our lawyer. Please explore more suitable options in our local area.

"The facility has issues with nursing supervision and care."

The place looks nice, but the nursing team needs improvement.

"Mixed Experience at The Willows Assisted Living Facility"

The Willows place looks neat and tidy. The people who help with exercises and health stuff inside are pretty good. It's not too expensive every month, which might be why there are some downsides. They don't have enough staff for serving food and taking care of the people living there. Sometimes the food is good, but sometimes it's not so great.

"Mixed experience: Adequate care but turnover issues and meal quality lacking"

My mom stayed at The Willows at Meadow Branch for nearly three years. Overall, her care was okay, but there were some problems. They struggle to keep experienced staff. Most of their employees are young high school graduates who don't stick around because they aren't paid well. Sometimes during my mom's stay, they didn't have a registered nurse as required by state law. The food wasn't great either; it was mostly reheated frozen meals, which isn't ideal for seniors. The facility spends a lot on TV ads to attract residents instead of paying employees better, leading to constant turnover. However, the place was always clean, and the grounds were well-maintained. Overall, it was a mixed experience for my mom.

"Decent Option with Considerable Costs"

This place isn't as fancy as Spring Arbor, but it's okay. Rent for a studio is $4270, and you gotta put down $3000 as a deposit. Depending on your needs, the level of care can be either $400 or $800 more. So, altogether, you're looking at around $4837 each month. I split the deposit over 18 months, making it $167 extra monthly. I went with the $400 level for medication help.

"Clean, Nice Rooms, High Prices: Facility Review"

The facility is really nice and clean. The rooms are great. I just wish the prices were lower!

"High prices, but clean and nice rooms at assisted living."

This place is really nice. Everything was clean and the rooms were really nice. I just wish the prices weren't so high!

"Assisted Living Focus, Friendly Atmosphere; Not Enough Independence"

This place focuses more on assisted living than independent living, which isn't what we wanted. The facility is nice, and the people are friendly.

"Inconsistent Staffing and Care at The Willows"

When you first look at The Willows, it feels like a good place. But if you dig a little deeper, it's clear they need to improve a lot. Their staffing is unstable with people coming and going too frequently. They can't seem to keep a Head Nurse for long and often seem to be low on staff. They say they'll provide a certain level of care but fall short of delivering it. The people in-charge often give wrong impressions about what type of care and experience the residents will receive. They care more about making money than looking after the residents.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

They can't keep their head nurse. They've had at least 6 different ones in 3 years. Some staff members say there's one person who makes others quit. The place looks nice, but they seem to care more about how it looks than anything else. The caregivers and housekeeping staff are friendly, but the office staff is strict and not very helpful.

"Beautiful but Rigid"

They can't seem to keep their director of nurses. They've gone through at least six in a three-year time period. According to some staff members, they retain a staff member who causes others to quit. The facility looks beautiful, and the caregivers and housekeeping staff are warm and friendly. However, the office staff appears rigid and unaccommodating.

"Decent facility but too rigid for personal needs."

This place is okay. When I checked it out, everything looked nice and clean. The people I met were friendly, but they were kind of strict. They said they don't bring meals to rooms unless someone's sick, and my husband likes eating in his room a lot. It was alright, but I realized it wasn't the best fit for him.

"Nice Visit, But Not a Fit for Personal Dining Habits"

This assisted living place is pretty good, and I had a nice time looking around. The area was super tidy and looked great. The people working there were super kind. But they were a bit strict. They told me they only bring food to the rooms if someone’s sick. My husband likes to eat his meals in his room. It was a decent visit, but it just wasn’t the right spot for him.

"The Willows offers trustworthy care at a reasonable cost."

The Willows is a nice place, though different from Spring Arbor. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, with soft music. Marketers talk too much, but I trust this facility. Memory care area, small but nice rooms. Shadow boxes for personal items. Certified care workers, including an RN. Reasonable cost: about $6,300/month.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Staffing and Activities"

I was surprised to see so many good reviews here. The place looks nice and the staff seem friendly at first. But, they don’t have enough people working. The caregivers who are there are very busy and tired. They don’t seem happy. Also, the person in charge of nursing is often not there. Different nurses keep coming and then leaving because they get frustrated. Sometimes, there’s no nurse at all. The food is too salty and not tasty. They often just give sandwiches for dinner. There aren’t many fun things to do. Not many people join the activities they offer. And when they go out, hardly anyone goes. If you or your loved one like doing things with others, this isn’t the right place. Most people just stay in their rooms alone.

"Attractive Facility, But Rife with Underlying Problems"

Startled to see so many good reviews here. The place looks nice and the employees seem kind at first. But, they often have too few people working and the basic caregiver staff are worn out and spread too thin, which makes them unhappy. The Head of Nursing role is often empty (as nurses will get the job, then quickly leave out of frustration) – there’s often no nurse there at all when one leaves before getting a replacement. The meals are too salty and unappetizing with sandwiches often for dinner. There aren't a lot of group activities and rare are times the ones held are full. Plus, trips out are terribly uncrowded. If you or your loved one likes group stuff, this place isn't for you. Most residents sit by themselves in their rooms with doors shut.

"Awful Service and Food, Overpriced Items in Uninviting Community"

The staff is impolite and unkind at this assisted living facility. They were always nitpicking about where my parent's furniture should be, despite approving it initially. The food quality is extremely poor, and they even served my diabetic parents regular ice cream. They attempted to overcharge me unfairly for catheters that were not even needed. The atmosphere is uninviting and off-putting. I wouldn't suggest this community.
