"Friendly staff, good events, and helpful in communication issues"

Overall, we’ve been really happy with Aegis Lodge. The staff is friendly and helpful. During the holidays, they had fun events that everyone could join, which we enjoyed. Since we moved from independent living to assisted living, we’re still figuring things out and asking a lot of questions. We’re thankful for their quick responses to our emails and their willingness to help with different issues. There has been a bit of trouble with communication, but they’ve sent out a newsletter to let families know they’re working on it.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

At this place, some workers are really nice, while others aren't so great. It's like a coin toss every time. Sometimes when you press the call button for help, it takes forever for someone to show up, like waiting for two whole hours! I found it quicker to just call the front desk when I had an emergency. They could've done a lot better while I stayed there. They often ran out of things for weeks, like black tea and regular sugar. Plus, they used lots of chemical substitutes, which I wasn't too keen on.

"Good Communication, Food Needs Improvement, Overall Good Facility"

They are great at keeping in touch. They follow up well and try to find the best way to interact with my mom. They make sure to understand what role family members want to have and how we want to be involved. If you want to be very informed, they can do that. If you only want to hear from them in emergencies, they can respect that too. One issue we've had is that when things got a bit tense, their communication was not as good, and they were a bit short with us until we resolved the problem. Once it was sorted, they went back to their usual friendly style. Regarding food, they don’t make sure residents eat, and the food can be pretty boring. Besides standard meals, they mostly offer simple sandwiches and juice, which my mom doesn’t like. However, the food seems better on the first and upper floors for assisted and independent living compared to the memory care area. Overall, I think it's a good place for my mom.

"Incomplete tour, large, lacks personalization, expensive."

Didn't get full tour, facility too big, lacking personalization, pricey.
