"Good mentor system, friendly people, but hard to make friends."
There’s a good system where each new resident gets a mentor. My mentor called me, and I’ve called her a few times, but I still haven’t met her in person after a month. Other residents are friendly, but it’s hard to make friends because of the pandemic.

"A Warm, Caring Community with Exceptional Staff and Comfort"
Aljoya has been a truly warm and welcoming place for my mom, who has dementia. Even at the start, when she struggled with names and directions, they made her feel at home. It’s not just been great for her but for us as her family too. As an only child, I was worried about Mom living alone. I knew I couldn't give her the care and activities she needed, even though I was with her a lot. Mom and I had looked at other retirement communities, but she didn’t like their styles or designs. I wasn’t thrilled with what we saw either. One day after our usual shopping trip, Mom suggested we check out Aljoya. As soon as we walked in, Mom was impressed by the espresso smell in the Bistro and the bright, cheerful décor. She immediately said, “This is it!” She had complained before that other places felt too dreary. What stood out to me the most was the staff. Even now, 2 ½ years later, they are fantastic—always smiling, greeting everyone by name, and eager to help both residents and their families. The Wellness Center, led by an R.N., who Mom calls our top “Angel,” and her team, has become like family. They monitor Mom daily, taking care of her medical and emotional needs. The owner, and their wonderful son, have created this place with such care, as if it were for their own loved one. They’ve thought of everything, from hiring great staff to adding fresh flowers and fruit around the facility. This family genuinely cares about their residents, from the day they arrive to their later days if they become more frail. Their support has been invaluable to us, especially as Mom’s health has declined. Aljoya has become a positive and loving community. It’s provided Mom with comfort, security, and a beautiful environment. Thanks to Aljoya, her last days will be in a friendly place with excellent care, surrounded by her belongings and family. We are incredibly grateful for everything they’ve done for us over the past 2 ½ years.

"Great Staff and Affordable Living"
I’m thrilled that my mother gets to live here. It’s the nicest place I’ve seen, designed like a fancy hotel with wide hallways, marble, and art on the walls. The dining room is upscale, with white cloth napkins and a big menu. There’s a huge library with a fireplace, big meeting rooms, a theater, an art room, and a business office with computers. There’s also a game room and a video golf room. The apartments have full-size kitchens with full-size appliances, unlike other places that had only small appliances. The only downside is that some apartments have less impressive views, overlooking other buildings. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly without being overly familiar. They handled the setup and moving process quickly and with patience. They are very professional. The safety features are excellent but not intrusive. Living here is also more affordable than other places. By paying upfront, we saved over a thousand dollars a month. It’s definitely worth considering, so don’t let the unusual financing options scare you.

A Place For Mom Customer
"Modern Assisted Living with Happy Residents and Excellent Staff."
This place is really modern, and the people living there seem really happy. The staff is awesome, they really care about helping and are super nice. The only thing I didn't like was the dark appliances in the kitchens. Oh, and the swimming pool is really great!
