"Need better staff communication and activity schedules for families"
My comments might seem like nitpicking, but it would help if the staff wore name tags. My family also wishes for better communication with the staff. We find the communication from the staff poor, which is our biggest frustration. An activity calendar for the memory care unit (not the whole facility) emailed to us would be very useful. It’s frustrating when we visit and find out they’re doing an activity we didn’t know about. This is especially annoying for my father’s wife, who spends money on transportation to see him weekly. Sometimes she spends half of her visit just waiting. We also want to know about the schedule for the podiatrist, showers, meal times, and more.

Arbor Village lacks AC, uncomfortably hot, not suitable for non-verbal.

"Staff, Food, and Challenges at A.V. Assisted Living"
The staff is friendly, especially the new activities director. The food is tasty and diverse. However, like everywhere else, the staff is stretched thin, and sometimes there aren't enough of them. This isn't unique to A.V., though.

"Misleading Information; Price Increase; Not Recommended for Others"
The person who recruited us told us things that weren't true, and the place wasn't as good as it seemed. The cost went up 13% since my loved one moved in a few years ago. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone else.

"Friendly Staff, Food Needs Work, Key Fob a Must"
The staff members are kind, but the meals aren't great. We chose this place since it's near my dad's home. They could do better by getting a new cook. Everyone should have a key fob to open the doors!

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Service and Communication"
Don't bother coming here. It's not worth it. Too expensive. You'd be better off somewhere else. The food isn't good, and my family member doesn't like it. The staff doesn't talk to us much, and it's hard to understand some of them because they're from other countries. Plus, they keep changing who's in charge. This place is a mess.

"Security Concerns Persist Despite Caring Staff at Arbor Village"
If I could rate the care team 5 stars, I would. They've been great. My 99-year-old mom loves her home. But her apartment got broken into 3 times. Luckily, she wasn't hurt, just scared. Thieves broke in and damaged things, even stole her GrandPad (a senior-friendly iPad). Arbor Village, despite its nice staff, hasn't improved security. They're owned by Cascade Living. All they did was put wooden dowels in her windows, which were cut too short the first time, allowing a second break-in. They told my mom never to open her windows, but she loves fresh air. There are no outdoor cameras for surveillance. At 99, I shouldn't have to move my mom upstairs or to another place to keep her safe. They need cameras, window bars, better gates, and a security guard. Sadly, I doubt anything will change.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Cleanliness and Care"
They didn't clean up after dad, even his messes. During COVID, we couldn't visit for over two weeks. Mom mysteriously had a black eye, and they tried hiding it. They left dad's bathroom dirty with poop. At first, they had programs, but later, it wasn't so great. Once, mom's room was freezing, and the heat didn't work.

I wasn't interested in this community. It wasn't what I wanted for my loved one. It was kind of small.

"Nice place, but needs better amenities and communication"
So far, we really like the place. The staff is very friendly and great, and we think our loved one will be just fine there. However, there is no Wi-Fi in the rooms and no air conditioning. We didn’t know this when we started moving in, and if we had, we probably wouldn’t have moved our loved one in. Also, we are having some trouble communicating with the nurse’s station on our loved one’s floor. There seems to be some disorganization, but we are working through the problems.

"Avoid This Home- Care is Not Just About Revenue"
The service here is dreadful, which isn't surprising when you realize they usually employ individuals who barely scrape by on minimum wage. It was a huge relief when I managed to relocate my mom to a better home where the staff seemed genuinely warm and attentive. What truly flustered me was that despite their sky-high fees, they opt for hiring caretakers lacking the necessary skills and English proficiency to effectively communicate with both myself and my mom in discussing her care. If you care for your parents, don't let them end up here. Tragically, the WA state authorities suggest moving your parent as they aren't violating any laws. The seniors here are viewed as nothing more than cash cows. It's comforting to have moved my mother to a place where she's treated as an individual instead of a revenue source.

"Pricey Place Lacks Quality Care"
My dad's stay in the memory care unit costs about $9,000.00 every month. It makes me question, why does it cost so much? The place is unclean and in dire need of some updates. Seeing four people crammed into one room, the lack of help when it comes to meal times, the staff who act more like strict teachers, and an activities person who doesn't seem to do any actual coordinating of activities, I really have to ask, why $9,000.00?

"Very pleased with staff, care, and flexible meal times"
I've been really happy with our experience so far! The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and caring, and all the residents seem nice. One thing I really like is that even though the meals are set at specific times, they also let guests adjust if they have appointments or other things going on. My mom has only been there for about a month, but everything has been excellent!

"Perfect place for my dad he's thriving and so am I!"
My dad is doing so well there. He loves the activities and always looks forward to them. Since he's in great shape, he gets to go on both the men's and women's activities, which he enjoys a lot. The only downside is that even though it's a beautiful summer, there isn’t a place where he can be outside alone. He's in the Lodge's memory care unit, and there’s no fenced-in outdoor area for him. I visit him at least four times a week, and we go for walks together. It’s a wonderful time for us, and I don’t have to worry about how he’s living anymore. He’s gaining weight, becoming more alert, and I couldn’t be happier with how things are going.

"Super Helpful and Comfortable"
Arbor Village is a wonderful place that gives the care we needed. The staff is super helpful and really made us feel comfortable. They set up the room just like the one she had before, so it wasn’t a big change. We’re very happy with them right now.

" Assisted living loved by family; amenities, staff, and care praised. "
This place was great! Mom and stepdad were happy with everything, like the nice rooms and helpful staff. We were a bit worried about where they could walk the dog, it's different from what they have now. But it's still nice, with lots of sidewalks. We didn't see them concerned about it, though. Having a nurse there 24/7 seems really important for care like this. The rooms were super nice, but there weren't many openings, so we need to get on the waiting list soon. The Director was really nice and helpful to our parents. The other residents seemed happy, too. We loved the INN and the VILLAGE was just as nice. Mom was excited about fitness classes and stepdad liked the offsite trips. They also liked that they didn't have to do everything together and could do their own things. We didn't check out the memory care unit but will do that next time. We went back to see it later, and it was lovely and homey with lots to do.

"New 3-year-old facility, very clean and cheerful"
This new 3-year-old facility is very clean and cheerful. It offers all three levels of care and has a fantastic wellness unit. I saw two one-bedroom units; one was smaller than the other. We discussed the deferred rent program and assistance with VA. The downside is the cost, which is on the higher side. The Independent Living facility has a limited number of one-bedroom units, and they are often unavailable. When Assisted Living is needed, you must move from the Independent Living building to the Assisted Living building.

"New Building Added to Assisted Care Facility, Needs Better Oversight"
The facility is pretty new, just a year old building added to the rest of the assisted care. It's adjacent to memory care units. There are group activities, and residents get to visit different places. Individuals at various stages of care live together here, but only until they require skilled nursing care. Staff supervision isn't perfect.
