"Decent Facility, But Lacks Warm Staff Interactions"
We visited Bishop Place while looking for an assisted living facility for our loved one. The place was alright and the tour went well. However, I wasn't impressed with how the staff interacted with the residents. I didn't see the staff or the residents smile or greet each other.

"Headline"
Our experience with Bishop Place has been positive overall. We'd recommend it to other families. However, they could improve the meals. Our friend receives them delivered, but they often arrive cold and not always on time.

"Mixed Bag: Assisted Living Facility Review"
The food's okay, not great. They try for activities and chatting. Rooms are big and comfy, but fixing noisy appliances takes forever. Managers aren't quick on problems, even important ones like safety. They don't tell us much, and what they do is confusing. They promise lots but don't deliver. Workers are nice but not trained well, and many leave. Some new hires aren't qualified.

"Helpful staff and good communication at Bishop Place"
Bishop Place is a caring place. The staff are super helpful when we visit. They always keep me updated on what’s happening. The food is good. We picked this place because we knew it well. I would tell other families to choose it too.

"Mixed Experience: Needs Improvement in Maintenance and Activities"
I've never lived in a senior place before, so I can't compare this place fairly. If it was my place, I'd say the carpets, especially the public ones, need cleaning. Maintenance is run by a guy who is very unpleasant. Bishop Place could use an orientation packet to explain the electric and climate control features. Some activities are ghostly--art therapy is coloring in coloring books alone. The M-F exercise class is really fine and accessible to individuals who are handicapped. I could really use help hanging curtains, but cannot bring myself to ask maintenance for help--sort of sad. Outside there is a dump for discarded furniture and appliances. Two concerts were great. So, it's a mixed bag!

""Neglected Facility, Hires Poor staff, Ignores Resident's Needs""
This place used to be great. But now, you can tell they aren't spending enough money on taking care of the building or hiring the right staff. They have people working there who aren't even licensed to take care of the elderly, which isn't smart. The outside of the building is messy, and they don't listen when you ask them to do something. The boss doesn't care about what the people living there need and even lets college kids live there. Can you believe that? College kids in a place for retirees!

"Poorly-managed facility employs incompetent staff; bad environment and awful food."
This place is declining fast. The staff are mostly college students or young people who can't find other jobs. They don't understand how to properly care for the elderly, and it's obvious they're just there for a paycheck. I've even heard them spinning sad tales to the residents in hopes of getting a bit more money. The facility is surrounded by low-income apartments where people are often yelling and making noise late into the night. There's even a casino nearby some of the buildings. Loud music is a constant issue on weekends. There doesn't seem to be any strict control over who is allowed to come and go in the Alzheimer's area. Also, the food is always either undercooked or totally burned.
