"Helpful staff and nice community, needs more care staff"
We've had a good experience. The staff is helpful and works hard to keep mom happy, which is not easy. The community is nice with fun activities. They just need more care staff.

"Nice place but meals need improvement"
The Bonaventure of Lacey Senior Living is really nice and the staff is super friendly. But, the meals aren't very good. We’ve had family visit and we all think the same thing.

"Great place with friendly staff and affordable rates"
I’d tell a friend that this place is really great. The manager is impressive, and the staff is very friendly. We chose it because it was one of the few places that accepted my dad's medical condition, and the price was good too.

"“Assisted Living Oversight and Cleanliness Concerns”"
Assisted living needs more staff to watch over residents, answer calls, and maintain cleanliness. Toilet paper is crucial, and vigilance is necessary to prevent falls. Seeing loved ones in dirty clothes for days is heartbreaking.

"Mixed Feelings About Bonaventure of Lacey"
We visited Bonaventure of Lacey Senior Living while looking for a Memory Care facility for our family member. The place was really nice. However, they don't accept Medicaid spenddown, which might be an issue for some.

"Happy Mom with Kitty"
My 91-year-old mom is thrilled here. She can keep her kitty, unlike other places. Housekeeping is basic, but I visit often to help out. The staff and food are top-notch. Frequent activities in the open activity room keep her engaged.

"Challenges with Staff Turnover and Care Plan Follow-Up"
The place is nice and tidy, with a cozy home vibe. The staff changes a lot, though. It's tough to get in touch with them. They could improve on following care plans, especially for new residents. Regular check-ins would be helpful.

"Excellent Care and Compassion at Bonaventure of Lacey"
I’m responding to [name removed]'s review from [date removed] to share my own experience with Bonaventure of Lacey. [Name removed] was purposely left off the family contact list, and I think Bonaventure’s management did the right thing by directing her to family contacts rather than sharing personal information. I also appreciate that the Director called me right after the incident to explain what happened and ask for my input. Here’s my feedback about Bonaventure of Lacey. My parents moved in during the fall of 2019. My mom had early-stage Alzheimer’s and my dad had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Bonaventure went above and beyond to support both of them in assisted living, even during Dad’s hospice care. The staff, especially the med techs, were very caring. Dad passed away in his room at Bonaventure, and Mom later moved out of state to be with family. She was grateful for her time at Bonaventure, especially after Dad’s passing. Because of this positive experience, my in-laws moved to Bonaventure two months ago when they couldn’t stay in their home of over 30 years. Once again, the management and staff have been great in meeting their needs. Mom is now in memory care, and Dad is in assisted living. The staff work closely with both of them and their family to make sure they get the right care while always respecting their dignity. In summary, I highly recommend Bonaventure of Lacey. My uncle, mother, and father-in-law all live there now. The facilities are nice, the food is healthy and tasty, the community is friendly, and the staff is attentive and genuinely caring.

"Honest Concerns Met with Disrespect at Assisted Living Facility"
I've never written a negative online review until now. You must be cautious when considering this home for your family members. This morning, I had a frustrating experience with dishonesty at the reception. I expressed worry about the care my mom was receiving. To make matters worse, my parents got moved to a different room without a heads-up from the home management. This probably added more discomfort to their life. When I voiced my discontent, the manager told me to stop calling the facility where my elderly parents are housed, accusing me of disrespecting her employees. I proposed telling my version of the events, but she dismissively stated she wasn’t interested! When I tried to contact her superiors, she abruptly disconnected my call. It seems like one can't voice concerns about their family here without receiving heavy-handed responses!

"Promises Fall Short at Bonaventure Assisted Living"
At first glance, Bonaventure of Lacey may seem like the perfect place for your loved ones due to the positive reviews that mainly come from people who have only toured the facility. This, however, couldn't be further from the truth as shown by my personal experience when my parents lived there for nearly a year. The advertisements and promises made by the sales team are highly convincing yet ultimately empty. If you take the time to read between the lines, you'll see that those who had their loved ones actually residing there aren't as pleased. The environment at Bonaventure was not secure for my parents. To ensure their care and safety, I found myself needing to constantly visit and keep tabs on them. The staff, while generally caring, is glaringly understaffed and simply can't provide adequate time for each resident they're responsible for. The sales team works hard to reassure you that your dear ones will receive all the attention and care they need. However, in practice, that's just not the case. We even noticed a huge improvement in my mom's mental state after she moved out, despite her dementia. If you are considering Bonaventure of Lacey for any of your non-self-efficient family members, my advice would be that you'll need to visit fairly often to ensure their needs are met. Please make sure to thoroughly investigate all the important aspects before making any decisions.

"Terrible Care, Broken Promises at Assisted Living Facility."
My spouse stayed at this place for two and a half years. They didn't live up to their word about making things better. Dealing with the management team was a huge headache. The meals just kept getting worse. Employees kept coming and going all the time. They didn't have enough helpers or workers and those they did have weren't trained well. The outside and inside looked pretty, but everything hidden beneath that- ew. Ultimately, I decided it was too much and brought him back home.

"Questionable Management and Lack of Adequate Care"
My mom stayed at this place for about four months, and I didn't have any issues with the staff or how the place looked... but the management team doesn't seem to handle things well, often leaving the residents with not enough staff... like one person having to get 200 folks ready for meals or sleep. They also didn't handle sharing super important financial info if you use Long-Term-Care insurance to help pay for their service. In the end, I had to get my mom her own apartment and a full-time caregiver because she wasn't getting the kind of care they said she would.

"Great Place, No Complaints, Even for a Short Stay"

"Dining Room Could Improve at Assisted Living Facility"
The eating area should work better. That's where they need to fix things. Tables should be cleaned between uses, it's tough to know if they're clean. The waiters do their best, but sometimes they mix up orders.

"Very nice, but location wasn't ideal"
We toured this place while looking around, and it was very nice. The only reason we didn't choose it was because of the location. The other place we considered was a bit closer to the doctor and all the appointments.

"Great Place with Room for Improvement"
My mom stays at Bonaventure of Lacey Senior Living, and it's been great. They have lots of fun activities, and the housekeeping team does an excellent job. Everyone there is super friendly. However, they change directors often, which can be confusing. Also, they should invest in better food quality and kitchen staff. The food isn't terrible, but it could definitely be improved.

"Clean and friendly, but crowded."
We liked how clean the home was and how nice the people were. The only problem is that there are a lot of residents, and we're trying to decide if this is the right place for us.

"Falling Short: Over Promising and Under Delivering on Care"
The facility didn't really meet the expectations they gave us. They promised they would guide them to meals in the beginning, but no one showed up. If I hadn't been there, she would've not eaten anything because she didn't know where to go. They also didn't bring her medication in the assisted living section. When we moved to the memory care part, there were two big issues. The workers didn't talk to each other well, and there weren't enough of them. I did like all the staff, but it seemed like their main focus was on convincing us to come, not taking care of her. In these places, you've got to stay on top of things constantly.

"Dissatisfied with Distant Temporary Stay at Bonaventure"
A different branch of Bonaventure transferred our family member here supposedly just for a short period. This place is located way too far from us, in a totally different state. We didn't feel comfortable having our family member that far, even if it was just temporary. When we made a decision to bring them home, they made it our responsibility to collect them. Worse still, they refused to hand over their records when we needed to move them somewhere else. We had a really poor experience overall.

"Needs More Staff and Timely Meds"
This place always needs more workers. The people giving out meds can't seem to be on time. They ought to provide more rides for seniors, too. We can't always have doctor's appointments just on Thursdays.

"Moving in Questions"
We really like Bonaventure at Lacy and would suggest it to others. The questions from A Place for Mom were useful. But, I think there should be another set of questions when we're signing the lease. Like, what to expect in the first, second, and third weeks of living there? How will Mom get involved in the facility's life? Who can we ask for answers to our questions? Mom can't remember everything she's done or with whom. The Home Doctor should have a list of accepted insurance companies instead of making us apply and wait to see if Mom will be accepted.

"Absolutely loved it like a hotel with apartments!"
I really loved this place. It’s like a fancy hotel with apartments. The staff is super friendly, and there are tons of activities to keep everyone busy and happy. The building and the grounds are always clean, and they were so patient with me! This is definitely our top choice so far.
