"Disappointed Resident Shares Experience at Bridgeport Place Assisted Living"
I take care of someone who lived at Bridgeport Place since 2017. They didn't need medical help, just the regular cleaning the place provided. When they moved in, it was over $3,000. Then the price went up without warning, once even to $4,340. After I complained, they fixed it to $3,400 and some extra dollars. But then they quickly raised it back to $4,340. This is all for unassisted living, mind you. My friend passed away on [date removed], and like clockwork, they took out $4,340 from the bank on the 1st of December. It's now January, and I'm still waiting for a refund. I've called and emailed them multiple times, but no response. It's not just about the refund; it's about how they treat people. If they treat me like this, who knows how they treat others?

"Bad Night Care Experience"
My loved one got aggressive due to lack of night care. We left after a short, unsatisfactory stay. Paid a lot. Wouldn't recommend. And the summarized headline is:

"Costs high due to minimum charge period"
It cost a lot because he died quickly. They had a minimum charge period, so we paid for days after he died. We also paid a one-time community fee. Make sure to tell others the fee is charged even if they stay less than 7 days.

"Small Spaces, No Tour"
Certainly! Here’s the revised review in 8th grade level American English: “The assisted living spaces were too small, and I didn’t take a tour.

"Friendly, Personal Assisted Living"
This place is a nice option for folks. It's smaller and feels more personal. The staff is friendly. My only wish is better communication.

"Friendly Assisted Living with COVID Consideration"
We picked Bridgeport Place because it's a nice place with clean rooms, friendly staff, and a nurse on site. The location works well for our family. During COVID, it's tough not being able to visit inside, but they've been really helpful.

"Not Recommended for Memory Care"
Certainly! Here’s the revised review in 8th-grade level American English: Even though the receptionist and lead nurse are nice, there are many inexperienced staff members. The high turnover has caused stress and frustration for my loved one. Additionally, the food quality is not very good. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this community for memory care.

"“Inconsistent and Impersonal Assisted Living”"
The place felt all over the place. When we first met the staff, they seemed like they were putting on a show to be friendly. The residents appeared as if they were living in someone else’s house—very sterile. I get it’s a business, but when you’re searching for a home for a loved one, you want a caring team and a cozy place, not just fancy decor.

"Nice Facility, But Not for Active Retirees"
The place is beautiful and very welcoming. They even had our name on a sign at the front desk. However, we are looking for a more active retirement community with a pool, fitness center, and walking trails. This place is in town on a busy street and has limited parking for us.

"Unwilling to Accommodate Puréed Food Needs"
They wouldn’t let our mom come back to the facility after about 3 months because she needed her food puréed. She didn’t need help eating and always ate in the dining area, but they refused to purée her meals and bring them to her. When she got aspiration pneumonia and was in the hospital, they told us she couldn’t return. We had just 3 days to find a new place for her. We found an Adult Family Home that could purée her food. The kitchen staff there just took her meal, puréed it, and served it. It took them about 10 extra minutes.

"Mixed Feelings About Dad's Care at Bridgeport Place"
My dad got really good care at Bridgeport Place. But, I was super frustrated when I got his last bill. He had to move to a more intense level of care, and they charged over $160 for cleaning the carpet in his small studio apartment. On top of that, they hit me with over $800 for replacing the carpet. When we did the final walk-through, they said they'd let me know if the carpet needed replacing, but they never did. I didn't expect to have to pay for both cleaning and replacing the carpet, and I thought both were way too expensive!
