"Good independent living, similar to other places, happy overall"
It’s been good here. Everyone is similar to other places I’ve lived. I’m very independent, so people mostly give me space. I’m happy and feel good here.

"Friendly Assisted Living with Companionship"
I’ve been here for a while, and it’s a good place to live. They take good care of us, and I always have someone to walk with.

"Brookdale helps you feel like yourself in assisted living"
I've lived here for almost four years. My apartment always feels like my own personal space. They care for my emotional and physical needs. In an assisted living facility, it's important to feel like you’re still yourself. At Brookdale, I do.

"Loved it so much, stayed longer and never felt lonely"
I thought I’d stay just a few months, but I loved it so much that I stayed longer. I’ve never felt lonely and always look forward to each day.

"Poor care, medication errors, and high costs at assisted living facility."
This place was not good for my father-in-law. They didn't give him the right medicine and kept giving him regular food when he was only supposed to eat soft food. Also, the button he was supposed to press if he needed help didn't work, and nobody came when he pressed it. Luckily, my husband and I lived nearby so we could help him quickly. We paid a lot of money for the care he got, but it wasn't worth it. They didn't even help him with basic things like emptying his catheter. It was a really bad experience.

"Caring Staff in Unfussy Home"
Overall, when my mom moved in during a busy time with Covid cases, the staff were respectful and caring. They promptly address any concerns I have. The Assisted Living home isn't fancy, but the people who care matter most.

"Brookdale Arbor: High Costs, Low Comfort"
We checked out Brookdale Arbor Place while looking for a place for our family member to live with help. They really know how to take care of people when they’re very sick. But, they’re not clear about their prices at all (they have secret points and won’t tell you how much things cost), and the person selling us the place was too pushy. The building felt like jail, super gloomy and the walkways made us sad. They cook with special spices but won’t tell us if it’s safe for people with allergies. Also, the chairs and sofas where everyone sits were not comfy and felt cheap.

"Disappointed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
I used to like this place, but things changed a month ago. There's a problem with stuff disappearing, and I don't think they've fixed it. They didn't have a safe drawer with a lock for at least two and a half months, and I'm not sure if they've given one yet. Lots of workers are leaving, and three weeks ago they stopped eating together because of Covid. Also, my mom had to stay in the hospital for two extra days because a nurse from Brookdale took too long to come for her discharge check.

"Senior Home Neglect: Poor Care, Unsanitary Conditions, Negligence"
My dad's shirts were wet with pee two times this month. He started falling but they didn't change how they took care of him. It took them a whole week to fix his care plan after he came back from the hospital in January, so I had to miss work to look after him. They told the social worker they could look after him but they didn't. And there's many more...

"Terrible Assisted Living Facility Experience"
It was a really bad experience, and they shouldn't even be running a business. My father-in-law's safety was a big worry because they didn't get his meals right, give him his meds on time, properly bathe him, or take care of his apartment. We didn't even last a month there and had to move him out. The communication was awful. When we asked about our concerns, they just stayed silent. It cost so much, but it wasn't worth a single she.

"Misleading info on spend down, had to start over"
When I was looking for a place for my loved one in assisted living, I made sure they had a spend down. They did, but then my loved one was in and out of the ER. They told me they couldn't keep her and she needed memory care. I agreed and chose them because they had memory care available. Later, I found out it was not a spend down and I was never told that at the start. I had to go through the whole process again.

"Great care and Medicaid support at Brookdale Arbor Place"
We picked Brookdale Arbor Place because Medicaid would cover costs if needed, so we wouldn’t need to move Mom again. During our visit, residents told us how much Mom would enjoy living here. It’s a clean, friendly, and welcoming place. They’ve been wonderful with her, and I’d recommend them to other families.

"Nice staff and location, but food and cleaning need improvement"
It's a good place with a friendly staff, which is really important. The management does a good job, too. However, the food is pretty bad. They claim everything is homemade, but that’s not true. There are no fresh vegetables or fruits, even though they say there are. The meat is hard to identify, tough, and doesn’t taste good. They also give out a lot of processed, sugary snacks. I’ve noticed they don’t clean my loved one’s room as often as I’d like. They promised to accommodate disabilities and provide many activities, but that hasn’t happened. For the price we pay, the food is not great, but the facility itself is nice. The staff is kind, and the place is in a beautiful location with lovely views. There’s a nice walking path on the property, and they include my loved one in daily walks. The director is really friendly. Overall, it’s been a good experience.
