"Good place with great staff but billing issues need fixing"
We picked Brookdale Canyon Lakes because Mom had lived there before. We had to move her out because of COVID, but then brought her back. She likes the familiar environment. She has a studio apartment that’s a good size, and there are different sizes available, which seem like a good deal for the price. The staff have been great, although they’ve been short on workers recently, but things are getting better. The director is fantastic, but we’ve had problems with the financial department. It’s been a hassle to get our bills sorted out. I’d recommend it to others if they can meet your needs.

Our family did a virtual tour, and even though it was online, we got a good sense of the place. The staff communicated well.

The community is nice, clean, and friendly. The staff is very helpful to both the family and the residents. They helped my loved one get settled in well. The grounds are nice and well maintained.

"Beware: Facility Bills After Death, Ignores Refund Requests"
Really awful conduct from this outfit. They put a charge on the resident’s bank account a whole two weeks after he passed away and refuse to give back everything they took. They’re totally mum about when we can anticipate a full refund. Losing a loved one is tough enough, but it looks like they’re just banking on you not noticing their money grab because you’re grieving. There are bad folks running the show here, allowing this to happen. Keep your distance from this facility and the people behind it.

"Disappointing Tour at Assisted Living Facility"
The tour at this place wasn't great. The staff was hard to talk to, and they didn't show us what we wanted. I asked to see specific things, but they showed the opposite. It was confusing.

"Great Place with Friendly People and Room for Improvement"
I was really impressed with almost everything about this place. The staff were amazing, and the building was really clean. The only downside is that the elevator in the main building is quite slow, and the cottages could use some updates. Some things like the wood color and style are old-fashioned, but they still work fine. Considering the cost, it would be nice to see some upgrades. The grounds are beautiful, and there's plenty to do! The people here are awesome. A big thank you to them.

"Excellent Assisted Living Facility with Welcoming Staff and Knowledgeable Administration"
I really liked how friendly the staff was when my loved one and I first arrived at this place. The people who run the place really know a lot about it, and they made sure to answer all the questions my mom and I had. Overall, I can't think of anything bad to say about this place, and I would definitely tell other people to check it out.
