"Friendly staff, highly recommended community"
What our family likes most about Brookdale Olympia East is the staff. They are friendly and kind. Based on our experience so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

"Finding Comfort in Senior Living with a New Perspective"
I didn't want to move to senior living, but after a couple of weeks, I saw a sign on a neighbor's door that said, 'So this isn't home sweet home... ADJUST.' It made me laugh and helped me see that I'm here for a reason. I now like to talk to people who are alone and make them feel welcome. I'm slowly starting to feel like this place is home sweet home.

"Friendly Staff, Weak Follow-Through"
In April, I talked to the director about evaluating my mom's needs, but nothing happened. I called again in June, but no callback. Last week, I met with the financial person instead of the director. Communication and follow-through are weak points. However, the staff is friendly and caring.

Showering communication lagged for two months at Brookdale Olympia East. Overall, a positive experience; recommend to others. .

"Struggles with Assisted Living Industry Practices"
I told the Attorney General in Washington about my problems with this assisted living facility. Dealing with bills, services, and poor communication was tough. It seems like a common issue in this industry. I hope things change eventually. Instead of caring for people, they seemed more focused on corporate interests.

"Communication Challenges at Assisted Living"
The staff is friendly, and the food is good. But communication needs improvement—it's hard to get answers or follow through on things. They want me to email everyone for any issue.

"Caring Staff, Room for Improvement"
Certainly! Here’s the revised review in 8th grade level American English: I believe they could make the move-in process smoother and help families and residents adjust. While they seem caring, it takes a bit of time. My loved one receives excellent care, but staff communication needs improvement. The food is loved, and they participate in activities provided. Overall, the staff has been great.

"“Avoid Brookdale Olympia East!”"
I wouldn’t suggest Brookdale Olympia East to anyone. Except for a few staff members, everything was incredibly disorganized. I had to talk to an Ombudsman and file a complaint with the state. Getting in touch with corporate and dealing with management was tough. Even though my Mom has left, I’m still stuck dealing with them.

"Mixed feelings about assisted living: Friendly but disorganized, limited activities. Lovely dining experience."
The people are nice, but sometimes things are mixed up. You might have to call a few times to fix things. There aren’t many activities, and because of COVID, only a few can join in at once. The dining area is nice, and the food is great. The person I care about really likes it.

"Refund Delay After Loved One's Passing"
At first, our experience with Brookdale was positive. They were very quick to respond. We paid a deposit for my loved one to move in, but sadly, they passed away before using Brookdale’s services. We asked for a refund of the community fees and deposit, but we haven’t received it yet. My only issue is that it took a lot of phone calls and time to get a response.

"Poor Communication and Lack of Follow-up at Brookdale Olympia"
I don't recommend this place. My relative was here briefly. After she left, I asked for paperwork and a call to discuss some questions. Nobody called back except the nurse, who was helpful. But others never responded. I'm really upset about their poor communication.

"Good food, friendly staff, needs more men's activities"
My loved one enjoys the breakfasts but dislikes the other meals. It would be nice to have more activities for men, like different movie options. The place is very clean and well-organized. The staff is friendly, and there are many activities to choose from. I like the walking path around the building and the exercise classes available.

"Great Care and Activities at This Assisted Living Community"
The staff really takes good care of my mom. They respond quickly to any mobility problems and keep me well informed. They also offer helpful suggestions for her care. The staff is very kind and caring. The community has lots of great places for residents to walk and socialize. There are groups for meals, and you can eat at different times. From what I've seen, there are many fun activities to choose from.

"Location Disappointing: Staff Welcoming, Facilities Nice, Area Unfavorable"
This place was really nice. The people who worked there were friendly and made us feel welcome when we visited. They told us useful things about the place. The place itself was clean and looked great. However, it was farther away than I would have preferred.

"Helpful staff, but no lifts."
Brookdale doesn't accommodate people with lifts. The contact person was sweet. She didn't waste my time and apologized for not being able to help me.

"Expensive Assisted Living Place With Good Director And Location"
The director of this place really knows his stuff. It's also in a really good spot, right in the middle of all the medical services you might need. The problem is, they charge a lot more than we can afford for certain care needs. It's even more expensive than similar places. There are other options around here that have more stuff to offer and don't look like they cost as much.

"Potential 5-star Rating for Brookdale Olympia East"
We're settling into Olympia, Wa. from California and deciding to place my Mom in Brookdale Olympia East. Up till this point, we have just visited and conversed in depth with a lady named Cindy. We picked Brookdale for Mom because it closely mirrors her current assisted living facility. When compared with a few other alternatives, Brookdale truly excelled. It appeared very well-managed, extremely clean, and had no hospital-like odors in the corridors. The place had a nice vibe. Following our choice, we got emails informing us of the life Mom will have, including the available programs. Although we're still in anticipation, I believe confidently that it'll be the right choice for her. I rated it 3 stars as Mom has not started living there yet but I am convinced it will earn a 5-star rating based on what I've seen and know.

"Friendly Staff and Personal Touch at Brookdale"
When we first visited Brookdale, we were really impressed. The staff, everyone there, is super friendly and helpful. I’m especially impressed by the kitchen staff. They came out to say hi to my mom during her first meal, and they remembered her name even after all this time.

I didn't pick this place for my dad, but it turned out great! It's super close to GHC and St. Peter's Hosp, which is handy. The place is clean and nice. The food menu is cool and the staff are really good at checking in and supporting you. Highly recommended!

"Nice Workers, But Feels Smaller and Confined"
The folks working here were nice. However, they were a bit older and not as large as another place we were thinking about. It also didn't feel very free and light, it felt more confined.
