"Friendly staff and decent upkeep, food options could improve."
The facility is older but well-maintained, and all staff are friendly. Food options rotate weekly but are basic and repetitive.

"Headline"
I'd recommend visiting and getting to know the staff beyond Sales and Marketing. Then decide. I'm happy with the care receives.

"Assisted Living Nightmare: Poor Service, Cold Food, and Hidden Charges"
The people cooking and cleaning were good, but the managers were awful. The food was terrible and always cold. They didn't have many things to do. The Rivers were asking for more money and said they'd pay us back for months! I had to contact their Texas office to get my mom's money back! What a rip off! Always check your monthly bill! They said it was really quiet, but it wasn't my mom couldn't sleep because of the loud trains!

"Be Informed About Payment Options"
If you're considering this place, be aware that they won't switch from private payment to state aid if you run out of money. That's important for many people.

"Great Assisted Living with a Cost Concern"
The Rivers is awesome! The only issue is the cost, which might make it hard for her to stay there much longer. But we adore the food, activities, studio, outings, and staff. She even gained some much-needed weight. Overall, it's a fantastic place, though the price keeps it from being a perfect 5.

"Friendly Staff, Food Needs Work"
The staff at The Rivers in Puyallup is awesome—friendly and helpful. However, the food for residents and dining service could use improvement.

"Comfortable apartments with good facilities and a nice community"
My loved one's apartment has a living room, a counter with a sink, a microwave, and a regular-sized fridge. It also has a handicapped-accessible bathroom and a big bedroom. He uses a wheelchair but can still get to the dining room. The facility has a large community room, a small coffee area outside the dining room, and a beauty salon he has used. There's also a large outside patio. I would recommend this place to others.

"Welcoming Assisted Living with Spacious Rooms"
We really like this place. The people are friendly, the rooms are spacious, and it’s been perfect for my grandfather. We feel welcomed.

"Needs Modernization!"
This place feels really old and stuffy. The furniture looks ancient and the whole place could use a good update. The staff is nice enough, but the atmosphere just feels outdated. Not the most comfortable environment for seniors.

"Billing Woes at Memory Care Facility"
This assisted living facility isn’t suitable for memory care patients with dementia. I’ve also faced billing issues, being charged for services never received.

"Friendly staff, clean facility, but chose different community. Accepted Medicaid."
We visited Brookdale Puyallup. It was neat and tidy. The people working there were nice and knew a lot. They helped us with everything we asked. We picked a different place for now, but they do take Medicaid.
