"Caring Staff and Cozy Environment Improve Mom's Well-Being"
The staff showed genuine warmth and kindness to Mom. They truly care about residents and were friendly with our family. We moved Mom to a smaller elder care home, and she's thriving.

So far, we've been really happy with Brookdale Stanwood. The staff is friendly and knows their stuff. Whenever we have questions or concerns, they are answered quickly. Our loved one is very happy with how she’s treated and loves the meals and laundry service.

"Nice facility with good food but small closet space"
We picked Brookdale because it’s a nice place, and we liked it a lot. The apartments are spacious, but the closets could be larger. My loved one really enjoys the food. I would recommend it to others who are looking.

"Great place with minor maintenance delays; mom is very happy"
We chose Brookdale Stanwood because of the great reviews and how close it is to where I live. She has one of the bigger apartments, a 2-bedroom that’s about 850 square feet. Being on the end means she gets more natural sunlight, and it's near the parking lot, so it's easy for me to take her places. They offer other apartment sizes too. She loves the food here because it’s made by chefs. However, it does take a while for maintenance to handle small issues like changing a light bulb, and I had a problem with one of the maintenance staff. Overall, my mom seems very happy living here.

"Friendly staff, but poor food and cleanliness"
The food here isn't good, and it's so salty I can't eat much. If you have special dietary needs, it's not great. We've only been here a short time and already had to move rooms because we were ready to leave, and they tried to help us. But the new apartment has problems too: no screens on the windows, no towel bars in the bathroom, and one of the shower doors is broken. Cleanliness could be better. The community washer and dryer were filthy and backed up. The place where you put the bleach was green. So really check it out and don't just take their word for it. If you can, ask a resident what they think when they're alone. I'm trying to be fair because they're short-staffed. Everyone is friendly and acts like your best friend. Most of the residents we've met have been nice, friendly, and eager to get to know you.

"Great Location, Missing Cottages"
I really like the location and having the YMCA nearby. It would be even better if they offered cottages instead of just apartments.

"Disappointing Care"
My family wasn’t too thrilled with the care at Brookdale Stanwood. My dad faced constant problems, and once they even gave him the wrong medicine. We eventually relocated him to another place.

"Friendly Assisted Living with Billing Hiccups"
My wife and I wanted a place where we could be together, and our kids found this one. It had a nice 2-bedroom, 2-bath unit available, so we moved in. The staff is friendly and knows what they're doing. The place stays pretty clean. The food is okay, but it's like cafeteria food sometimes greasy and the menu changes a lot. If you don't like what's on the menu, you can order a sandwich. The only problem I've had is with the billing they sent me a late payment notice even though I'd already paid. They fixed it later.
