"Friendly Community with Great Staff, Needs More Maintenance Support"
I really like living at Brookdale. The people who work here are nice, and so are the other people who live here. It feels warm and friendly. I wish they had more people to help with fixing things around the place.

"Activities and Food at Assisted Living Facility Need Improvement"
My mom is disappointed in the food. It's too bland, not organic, and there's too much chicken. As for activities, the high staff turnover and issues with the van have been a real ongoing challenge.

"Brookdale's Excessive Rent Increases and Deceptive Tactics"
Brookdale only seems interested in extracting as much money as they can from their residents and their families. My dad's rent has shot up by 20% in just a little over one year, even though we were promised that the annual increase wouldn't be more than 7%. On top of it all, the management uses a bunch of sneaky tactics to disguise their crazy price increases. I really wish I hadn't moved my dad into this place and I definitely wouldn't advise anyone else to do so.

" Exorbitant Prices and Poor Priorities at Assisted Living Facility"
For the second year straight, they've hiked up the rent by over $500 each month. They're already ripping off older folks, and now they're trying to compensate for the losses they faced when people moved out during the recent health crisis. They're jacking up the prices for those who stayed during this tough time to an insane level! My dad is being charged $4,560 every month for a one-bedroom apartment where he gets absolutely no help except for two meals a day. With his dementia, he can't even afford the care he really needs while staying here. Unless you're really rich, I can't advise you to choose this place. You'll find equally good or even better care at much fairer prices at other assisted living facilities in and near West Seattle. It appears the only thing this company cares about is raking in money, without worrying about if the people living there can pay it or not. I suggest checking out indeed.com to see what their own workers say about the place, and also look for their ratings on Consumer Reports and the Better Business Bureau.

"Lack of Communication and Unexpected Price Hikes Disappointing"
We thought everything would be smooth at first, but after moving in, there was no orientation or communication. They don't handle business negotiations well. Recently, we were shocked to receive notice of a significant price increase, only a few months in. We're unsure how often they can raise prices, so now we're exploring other options.

"Active and Friendly Assisted Living with Convenient Amenities"
This assisted living facility offers plenty of activities for residents to enjoy. There aren't many exclusive groups, and more women reside here than men. The atmosphere is welcoming and pleasant. The food is quite tasty. Transportation options are available, but they are limited and may not suit everyone's needs. Nearby, there are convenient dining options like The Habit and other food places.

"Satisfied with Dad's Care at Assisted Living, Minor Issue Resolved"
My dad's doing well, we like the staff and everything. Just one issue with the wheelchair. I didn't know much about wheelchairs and got him a transport one. But after two weeks, they said it was hard to push. They started bringing his meals to his room because of that. I fixed it by getting a regular wheelchair. It would've been nice if they gave us a heads up before changing meal plans. But overall, he enjoys the food, it's like eating out. He's tried some activities but not all. The staff is really nice and professional. I suggested a Super Bowl party and they organized it, which was great. The place looks almost new and has a nice vibe. They provide transportation within their area too. I'd recommend it to others because I trust their care.

"Not the right fit for us"
The Brookdale West Seattle was okay. We didn't choose them because the available room was on the assisted living side, and we wanted independent living. Also, it felt too much like a hospital.

"Amazing Care and Peace of Mind!"
The staff at Brookdale have been awesome to my mom. They are super caring and always helpful. Everyone knows each other’s names, so when my mom walks down the hall, they greet her by her first name. The meals are good, but it’s kind of like school food since they have to cook for a lot of people. She wishes they had more veggie options. One time, my mom had a stomach ache on Christmas Eve and called for some medicine. The guy who usually delivers it was home with his family, but he left to bring my mom the medicine and didn’t even charge her. They are truly amazing people, and I’m happy I can sleep at night knowing she’s well taken care of.

"Mixed Feelings About Pricey Assisted Living"
Liked the folks here, but getting to the place was tough. Community was decent, but it's pricey and no Medicaid.

I've been living here for a while now, and it’s definitely worth the cost. The staff always make an extra effort to keep us entertained, and the food is really tasty. This community is a great deal, even less expensive than my previous place. I’m very happy and satisfied living here.

"They have been awesome"
The only thing I wish they had more of is different activities. Other than that, they have been awesome. Everyone I’ve met there has been super friendly and helpful. The main thing my dad loves and talks about every day is the food.

"Fantastic Care and Friendly Staff Top Choice for Mom!"
This is a great retirement community! They have the care my mom will need in the future. The apartments are big and the prices are better than most other places I checked out. I felt confident that my mom would be safe and well cared for. We had lunch there, and the food was amazing. The staff was friendly and really paid attention to my mom’s needs. This place is now at the top of our list!

"Safe and welcoming assisted living with friendly staff and amenities."
I really liked this place! They have apartments with little patios where you can grow stuff in pots. Everyone was friendly, and the folks living there seemed like they were being taken good care of. Plus, they've got a gym! The only thing that made me a little nervous was that the entrance wasn't locked.
