"Nice place, but better off at home"
We used to live at Creekside Continuing Care Community, and it was a really nice place. The experience and the facility were great, but we didn't feel comfortable there. Now we are happier at home.

"Good staff, food better, but maintenance needs improvement"
The staff here is very good at taking care of residents. However, maintenance can be tricky sometimes. The food is better than most places like this.

"Bus Trips, Physical Therapy, and Larger Apartments Noted"
On Mondays, there are bus trips and physical therapy is offered on-site. The cleaning staff comes once a week, and the apartments are bigger than others we considered.

"Friendly staff and good activities, but could use more"
The staff at Creekside are very friendly. They offer activities, but more would be better. I would suggest it to other families.

"Food Menu Needs Improvement"
We stayed briefly, and unfortunately, my loved one passed away here. The food menu definitely needs an update based on what I observed.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Community"
I recommend being patient with the care your loved one receives and how staff communicates. Some staff are rude, while others are helpful. The community charges for different levels of care, including escorting residents to the dining room and managing medications. It would have been nice to know they don't provide requested medications. Also, families have to go between the pharmacy and the community. On the bright side, the monthly fee covers everything: apartment, meals, utilities (except phone and cable), care, housekeeping, and linens.

"Friendly Staff and Comfortable Rooms, but Limited Activities"
The rooms for residents are a good size. The staff is friendly and caring. However, there aren't many activities for residents to join. If I have questions or concerns about my loved one, the staff is easy to talk to. Also, my picky loved one enjoys all the food here.

"Assisted Living Disappointment: Management Failures and Meal Mishaps"
We lived in a little house in a retirement village for 10 months, and we're happy we moved out. The people who cleaned our house, served food, and worked at the front desk were always nice and tried to help us. But the people in charge and those who fixed things in our house were not good at their jobs. We don't know much about special services because we didn't need them. Even though the people who brought us food were nice, the food itself wasn't great. Except for the soups, which were usually good and hot, most meals weren't as warm as they should be. Sometimes, the meal they said we'd get wasn't available because they had run out, which was frustrating since we paid ahead for them. When we left, they said they owed us more than $350, but despite us asking for three months, we still haven't gotten it. They hardly ever reply to our messages, and when they do, they just say they're busy.

"Helpful staff, but yearly rent increases"
The staff at this independent living community are very helpful. The food is mostly good. They have outings and daily exercise classes. We play cards every night and have movie nights. Pets are allowed. The only drawback is that they raise the rent by 10% every year on your anniversary. I would recommend this community.

"Warm, Caring Environment, Great Staff"
Our 90-year-old father lives in the memory care unit here. He was getting very withdrawn and only eating a little in his old place. We needed a place that really understands memory problems and agitation. Since moving here, he has really come out of his shell. He’s no longer alone and always eats with others in the dining room, which feels like a family setting. The facility is welcoming and well-kept. The staff is always kind, cheerful, and keeps us informed. The weekly bus tours are a nice extra.

"Mom is Happy and Well Cared For"
There have been a few problems, but mostly things are good. My mom's air conditioner wasn't working, and it took a while to get it fixed. Other than that, things have been very good. The people there are friendly, and my mom is happy and doing well.

"Great care, festive atmosphere, and flexible living options"
We are really happy with Skagit Valley Senior Village. Our mom has been in the memory care section since the end of September, and so far, we have no complaints. They decorate nicely for the holidays to keep things festive and cheerful. They also go on outings in the van and have activities for those who can join in. They offer several options based on your needs, including independent living, assisted living, and memory care, so you can stay within the village as your situation changes.

"Very nice place, overall"
Overall, we are pleased with Skagit Valley Senior Village. I'd give them high marks all around. Nothing is "excellent," but they do a pretty good job, and I'm confident this is the right place for my loved one. The facility looks nice, the activities and services are solid, the food is good, and the price is fair. I also like that they offer both independent and assisted living, so if my loved one needs more care in the future, they won't have to move.

"Warning: Assisted Living Facility Lacks Responsibility and Communication"
My dad stayed at SVSV for 5 months in an assisted living and really liked it. But, because he has dementia, he wasn't able to grasp why I moved him. It was because the staff responsible for his care weren't addressing concerns but also hiding things when I pointed out issues. They often made excuses and blamed my dad or me instead of owning up to their roles. The communication amongst the staff was bad.

"My Brother Is Happy and Settling in Well"
The main reason we picked “Skagit” was because my brother, who was moving in, had limited funds and they had a good price. At first, we were a bit worried, but it turned out to be the right choice. My brother needed a good place, and he found it here. The people are really friendly, and everything is clean. They helped move my brother from Idaho, but we were surprised to find that nothing was unpacked when we got there. It turns out they don’t help with unpacking or setting things up. The food is really good; I’ve had a few meals with my brother, and we both like it. The common areas, both indoors and outdoors, are nice with lots of seating. Overall, “Skagit Valley” was the right choice for him. My brother is quite happy here and is settling in well.

"Great tour and info given on short notice, very impressed!"
We got a super helpful and detailed tour from a really nice young woman, the Director of Community Relations, on very short notice late on a Saturday afternoon. She showed us around the main building and one of the cottages, gave us all the info we needed like costs, availability, and amenities, and even sent us off with some literature, a box of See's candies since Valentine’s Day was coming up, and an overall great impression of Creekside.
