"Assisted Living Review Summary"

Our experience has been mostly good. Residents sometimes need help getting their requests fulfilled. The staff usually responds well when our family has questions or worries. But there are issues with meals because of not enough staff. Sometimes the food isn't what they said they would serve. Residents can choose beyond the daily specials. They get three meals each day here.

"Nice facility with friendly staff, but smoking policy discouraged us."

My parents chose to stay in their own apartment for as long as they could, but I did visit Delaware Plaza. The people who worked there were really nice and willing to work with us, and the apartments and the building itself were very nice. The only thing that I was worried about was that they let people smoke in the courtyard, and my mom had worked really hard to quit smoking. Because of this, we probably wouldn't have picked this place anyway.

"Mom is thriving with excellent care and enjoyable outings."

My mom is thriving at Delaware Plaza. The help and care she receives are invaluable. She enjoys the outings and we’ve seen a noticeable improvement in her well-being. The staff is supportive, especially with her Alzheimer’s.

"Caring Staff in Family-Like Community, Room for Dining Improvement"

The people who work here are really nice and they remember my dad’s name. They pay close attention to everyone and genuinely care about the people who live here. They treat everyone like family, which is why I chose this place for my dad. The only thing that hasn’t been so good is the food. The meals they serve are just okay and sometimes it takes a long time to get served. Overall though, I would tell other families that this is a good place to bring their loved ones.

"Delaware Plaza: Clean, friendly, but nursing home vibe."

We visited Delaware Plaza, a clean and friendly community. It felt more like a nursing home, so we chose elsewhere for our loved one.

"Close to Hospital, Good Food, Needs Better Emergency Support"

My mom is having a hard time being here. She thinks she would be better off at home taking care of herself and my dad. I feel they are both in the right place and getting what they need. Dad fell and is in the hospital, but luckily, this place is only a few blocks from the hospital, so I don’t have to worry about mom driving far. When dad was here, he enjoyed the food and was gaining weight. The staff is good, but I was really upset that when dad fell and mom was clearly shaken, no one offered to arrange transportation to the hospital. They let her drive herself.

"Friendly Staff, Small Rooms, Tight Bathroom Spaces"

When I entered Delaware Plaza, everyone was really nice. However, I didn’t like the rooms. They were small, and the space between the toilet and shower was too tight for my wheelchair. It would be unsafe for me to live there.

"Comfortable and friendly assisted living, could use more protein in food."

I really like it here. It's super comfy. The folks are really nice, and it's really clean. I'd say it's a 4 out of 5. The food needs more protein, I think. I'd totally tell others to check it out if they need a place.

"Caring Staff and Clean Community Impress!"

The staff is friendly and takes good care of Mom. They communicate well and offer daily activities. The community is clean, and Mom enjoys the food. Some staff members have been there for years. I was impressed by the head nurse’s skills and the director’s empathy.

"Nice Assisted Living Community with Friendly Atmosphere"

My sister visited this place for our mom, and from what she said, it was nice. It's a good community. Everyone was nice and friendly. She saw that everything was neat and clean. It's just a bit far for us, but the tour was nice.

"Great Staff and Renovated Building, But Some Drawbacks"

The staff was wonderful. The building was recently renovated, so it looks very nice. However, the front entrance was a bit off-putting. It wasn’t renovated, and you have to enter the first door and then push a second button to open the inner door. My mom rented a one-bedroom suite that was huge. The kitchen didn’t have a stove or oven, but it had all the other appliances. The residents were friendly, greeting each other but not much more than that. The dining area was huge with lots of wait staff. But many times, the kitchen would run out of one of the two main dinner choices. Some meals were excellent, while others were not so great. The rent was a bit high at $3900 for the one-bedroom suite. Maintenance was quick to respond to situations.

"Room for Improvement in Assisted Living Facility"

The place is clean, but we pay for better care and still encounter messes. Staff is friendly, but management needs more nurses. Activities exist, but they could engage residents better. Food is good, but there's room for improvement. .

"Great First Impression at Assisted Living Facility"

My husband and I went on our first tour of this assisted living facility together. It was really clean and neat. The manager told us a lot about the different levels of care they offer and how much it costs for rooms that are shared or private. They charge a fee for doing the assessment paperwork. The cost seemed fair and matched what we were looking for. My husband especially liked this place. Another family was planning to visit and check out the private room during the weekend.
