"Inadequate Care for End-of-Life Residents"
When my mom was healthier, she liked it here. She played Bingo and Poker, and enjoyed eating at the restaurant where the food was very good. But when Mom got sicker from leukemia and had to move into this place knowing she would pass away there, things changed. The people who convinced me to bring her here promised they could handle her needs, but they couldn't. They have a rule against lifting patients, so when Mom couldn't move herself, nobody could help her onto the commode. When she couldn't reach her food, they brought it to her room but left it out of her reach. Before she moved in, they said she could wear a button around her neck to call for help for $30 a month, but when she needed it, they told me they didn't offer that. They made an exception for her, but that was the only time. They promised they could care for her until she died, but they couldn't. They used misleading ads to get Mom to move in

"Friendly Community with Nice Amenities; Communication Could Improve"
The community here is really friendly. There's a big area to walk around, and my apartment is nice with a great view. They communicate well, but they use flyers and a community board, so if you lose the flyer, you might miss out on things. We can attend meetings and give suggestions, which is nice. I would recommend this place to others. The dining room is also very nice. They have different sizes of apartments you can choose from.

"Great facility for active seniors; staff very caring and helpful."
My family visited Fairwinds (Avondale) in Redmond in the fall of 2016 for my father. Before visiting, he was totally against moving out of his house. After the visit, he was excited about moving in. Fairwinds was the best facility we saw, and here’s why. It was amazing and went out of her way to help us. For instance, since my father was unsure about the food, she let us try a dinner for free. We had a great 4-course meal from their menu. The food was delicious, and their menu is fantastic—I wish I could eat like that every night! [Name] also introduced us to several current residents who were happy and interesting. I also met other families and residents, and they all liked Fairwinds. [Name] even sent us floor plans and measured my father’s potential room for furniture. Communication with [Name] was excellent, and she was always available for our questions. The rest of the staff at Fairwinds was friendly and helpful too. After visiting many facilities, I found Fairwinds to have the best staff. Unfortunately, before my father could move in, he had an accident and needed a facility with more care. Even though we had put down a deposit, [Name] and Fairwinds were very understanding. They refunded the deposit and called to check on my father’s health, which showed they really care. One thing to note is that Fairwinds is best for active seniors. They can add services for less active seniors, but if your relative needs intensive care or has severe dementia, Fairwinds might not be suitable. They do tell you this up front. If my father’s health hadn’t changed, he would have moved in. I highly recommend Fairwinds in Redmond. It’s the best facility I’ve seen, and I’ve looked at many. Feel free to contact [Name] for more info. Thanks to [Name] and Fairwinds for all their help!

"Odd Pricing Raises Concerns"
I had a nice tour of this place. They were renovating, but it didn't look great. The pricing was strange—it started low, but they added extra fees for more care. It felt like they cared more about the community than the residents' budgets.

"Friendly, relaxed, and attentive care."
Your wish is our command" seems to be the motto of the staff. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere made this place stand out to us.
