"Disappointing Care at Assisted Living Facility"
My mom stayed at the House of Hope for two and a half months. She really wanted to leave that place! After eating in the kitchen, they’d take her to her room where she’d be alone for a long time, just waiting. Her room was tiny, gloomy, and felt too tight—it was really sad. I didn’t like going there, and she didn’t like being there at all. She even said she started to dislike one of the owners because she was unkind. Mom’s got some memory issues, but she’s still pretty sharp and likes to do things on her own. She needs to stay busy, but that didn’t happen at House of Hope. We started looking for a new place in less than a month. When she got sick, the owners didn’t bother calling us. They just gave her some medicine for a cough, but she needed more help than that. They would talk in Russian around her, which made her feel uneasy. I helped Mom pick out Christmas presents for the owners’ family, but they never said thank you. I mean, the place was clean, but that’s expected, right? The owners seemed nice at first, but after a little while, they showed their true colors—bossy, pushy, and not very patient or polite. Moving Mom out was tough, especially when I had to argue to get back half a month’s rent, which was nearly three thousand dollars. I had to show them their own contract to remind them about the refund policy. They acted like they never signed anything, but I had all the paperwork. It felt like they only saw my mom as money, and keeping her refund felt like stealing. I had to threaten to get the authorities involved before they paid back the money. If you’re thinking about House of Hope for someone you care about, read the contract really well before you sign anything. And don’t let the owners push you around. There are plenty of other places for seniors, so keep looking for the right one.

" "Uninviting Living Conditions, Unkind Owners at House of Hope""
My mom only lasted two and a half months at the House of Hope before she couldn't bear it anymore. Her daily routine involved eating alone in the kitchen, then sitting in her tiny, gloomy room for endless hours with nothing to do. It wasn't an inviting place to visit for me, and my mom couldn't stand living there. One of the owners who mom had a particular dislike for, would often carelessly act unkind to her. Although my mom has a mild cognitive impairment, she's still able to do a lot on her own and loves to keep her brain active, but that didn't happen at the House of Hope. We started looking for a new home after only a month of her being there. One time, when mom got sick, the owners didn't bother calling me or any of the family. Instead, they chose to pretend they were doctors and gave her cough syrup, even though her condition was critical. They had this habit of speaking Russian around her, which made her feel uneasy. Once, I helped mom pick out Christmas gifts for the owners' family. They didn't even bother to thank her. Yes, I'll give them that the place is clean. But the owners are not as friendly as they initially seem. Within a few weeks, they reveal their true colors: pushy, harsh, lacking tolerance, and down-right rude. When we decided to move mom elsewhere, I had to battle for a refund for half the month's rent, about $3,000. They even claimed we never signed a contract, even though I could show them their own signature. It was clear that they saw my mother as nothing more than a source of income. Their unwillingness to refund felt like stealing from her. I don't doubt they've done this to others before. I had to mention involving the government agencies before they reluctantly gave the refund. If you're considering House of Hope for a loved one, be sure to read the contract carefully before signing. And don't let the owners push you around. There are plenty of other adult homes to choose from.

"Friendly, caring staff and spotless facility with great support"
When I first visited House of Hope, I felt it was very friendly. The owners really care about the clients and love sharing stories about themselves. The care here has been great. They follow all the instructions from visiting nurses and therapists and work hard to meet their needs. Everything is spotless. They are also very understanding and helpful when we need to visit the doctor or do other errands.

"Best Assisted Living Option with Great Care"
You won’t find a better place than House of Hope. The owner has a sister who runs a similar home that could be its only real competition. House of Hope is fantastic and top-notch. We picked it because they had space available and we thought a male caregiver would be the best choice for our situation.

"Nice couple, spacious home, clean and organized."
I want to put Mom here. The couple running it is very nice. The house is designed for assisted living, so it has more space. The outdoor area is well-kept, and the inside is clean and tidy. The couple is very organized with licenses on the wall and a binder with information. They even have a hospital bed.
