My family member lived here before. We found a nicer place for her.

"Great place with clean facilities, friendly staff, and good food"
My mother lives at Merrill Gardens at Renton Centre right now. Overall, we’ve had a positive experience there. The place is clean, and everyone is friendly. Housekeeping does a good job, and they keep us updated. The food is tasty and of good quality. The staff is helpful. I’d suggest this place to family and friends.

"Assisted Living Facility Neglects Resident, Prioritizes Profit Over Care"
Some workers are nice but always too busy. Found Mom unable to move, ignored. We had to help her, staff said they don't feed residents. Mom hadn't eaten for 3 days, no one told us. They bullied a 91-year-old and lied to the boss. All they care about is money. Food is terrible. Filing complaint.

"Beautiful place, but GM and communication issues"
I'd warn others about the General Manager and their protocols. The incident with the General Manager made our loved one's move-in difficult. I wish the transition had gone smoother. The community is beautiful and great. I wish visiting hours were later so we could see our loved ones more. The staff communication could be better.

"Caring Staff and Welcoming Atmosphere at MG Renton"
My mom has been living at MG Renton for over 5 years. Over time, she has gone from being completely independent to needing a lot of help with daily tasks. The staff has always been very caring and supportive. Whenever I have questions or concerns, they respond quickly. The facility is very welcoming, and I can really tell that the staff always puts the residents' well-being first.

"Mixed Experience: Good Staff, Food Needs Improvement, Slow Services"
The food is okay, but it takes a while to get served, although the waiters are really nice. It's surprising to find young people who are so friendly and patient. They mainly serve meat and sauces, but they don't have many fresh veggies like spinach or broccoli. The salads with iceberg lettuce are mostly just water. Seniors need more fiber and less salty soups and thick sauces. The living space is nice, modern, clean, and quiet. They offer weekly cleaning for big linens. Sometimes the tavern nearby gets noisy, but there's not much you can do about that. As for services, they're courteous but quite slow, especially with repairs and installations. It feels like they might be ignoring you sometimes. Overall, the staff organizes lots of events for residents, and my mom is happy here, which matters most.

"Mixed Feelings: Decent Amenities, Slow Service at Assisted Living Facility"
The food's okay, but service is slow. Wait staff's great, though! They're friendly and patient, which is surprising for young folks. The menu mostly has meat and sauces, lacking fresh veggies. Seniors need fiber! The salads are mostly water. The living space is nice, modern, and clean. It's quiet, too. You can get weekly cleaning for big linens. Sometimes, a nearby tavern gets noisy, but what can you do? Living services are a bit disappointing. They're friendly but slow with repairs. It feels like they might forget about you sometimes. Overall, there are lots of events for residents. Mom's happy, and that's what matters most.

"When Exploring the Community"
We visited the assisted living facility, and it seemed like a nice place for my In-Law. There were many Asians, which was great because he could speak Cantonese with them. The location was close to our home, and I thought he would feel comfortable there. However, it ultimately wasn’t the right fit for him.

"Great Place to Live"
I'm really happy with how things are going since I moved into this community. The staff here are really good at making sure we have everything we need and they've made me feel at home in my new place. I enjoy eating with the other people who live here and the activities they have are fun. I would tell anyone looking for a place to live about this one.

"Disappointing Dining Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
I went to see my friends at their place and they showed me around. Overall, I thought it was nice except for the high cost. But when we had lunch, things went downhill. The salad bar had fresh items, but there wasn't much variety. The main dishes were really bad. The fish tasted old and not good at all. The ribs were burnt and tough, so we couldn't eat them. My friends mentioned they got a new chef, supposedly trained at Cordon Bleu. If that's true, they must have been at the bottom of their class or lied about their qualifications. Dessert was okay, but I'm pretty sure it was bought from somewhere else. Considering how expensive this place is, there's no excuse for such bad food. I'll look elsewhere.

"Pricey Housing with Disappointing Meals"
When I came to check out my friends' new place, I enjoyed the tour they gave me. The only downside was seeing the price tag on it, which was pretty steep. The real issue, though, came when we sat down for lunch. The salad bar wasn't too bad, it had fresh ingredients but not a lot of options. Then came the main dishes, which were almost too hard to eat. The fish had a stale taste, like it was old, and wasn't enjoyable at all. The ribs were overcooked until they were tough and burn, so they were left uneaten. My friends mentioned they hired a new cook who was trained at a place called Cordon Blue, if I remember correctly. If that's true, he must not have been a very good student because the cooking was terrible. Alternatively, maybe he lied about his level of training. On a positive note, the dessert was tasty, but it's more likely that it was just bought from another place and not made on site. Considering how much this place costs, it's unacceptable that the food was so bad. I don't think I could live here.

"Mom Finds Perfect Place to Thrive"
My mom will be moving into this community soon. She really likes what this place has to offer. The people who work here are nice and really helpful. They told us a lot of things and answered all of our questions. We tried four meals, and they all tasted really good. I think my mom will feel cozy here, and they're going to take great care of her.

"Management's Lack of Concern Leads to Poor Service and Turnover"
The head boss here is downright cranky and too tense. They seriously need a holiday or a change in career! Seems like the nurse is just around for the pay and not really into caring for the residents. The higher-ups should really take a closer look at the high rate of staff leaving and all the complaints from the people living here. These issues are felt throughout the whole place! It's way too much money for what you're actually getting. The food service is awful mainly due to so many staff members quitting. They're simply not paid well enough, which keeps this cycle going. The leaders of this place only seem to care about making money. Avoid this place! You'd better off looking elsewhere for you loved ones' care!

"Clean Facility, Friendly Staff, Higher Cost Than Expected"
My father has had a great experience at Merrill Gardens. The facility is clean and nice, and the staff is very friendly. The only issue is that it’s a bit more expensive than we expected. But that's really my only complaint.

"Shakedown at Brookdale: Prior Fees Single-handedly Skyrocketing!"
I nearly fainted yesterday when the counselor told me there's a strict, one-time, non-refundable "Membership fee" of $5,000 BEFORE my aunt could move in. I noticed from a past comment that this fee was only $1,000 last September. This feels like premium-level bullying. She was stunned that I hadn't encountered this sort of fee at any of the other three Brookdale Homes where I've had family living previously. I'm going to withdraw our application and keep my Aunt at the Brookdale Home at Admiral Heights where there's no "Membership Fee.

"A $1000 Blunder: Dull, Expensive Living Experience."
I spent three months living there and absolutely hated it. Honestly, there was a lack of fun stuff to do and it felt super unwelcome. They had this thing where each month they'd draw names to let us register for bus outings. If a lot of people wanted to go on the trip, it could fill up fast. I had to cough up $1000.00 just to get started. It was a pricey and dull three months.

""Felt Unwelcome, Dismissed Without Financial Consideration""
I didn't feel at ease or welcomed. They said I didn't meet their criteria without even looking into my money matters. The place didn't make me feel good, it lacked cultural diversity.

"Nancy Phalen's Tour: Clean Rooms, Unappealing Food, Dorm-Like Feel"
Nancy Phalen gave us the tour. The entrance hall and eating area felt somewhat like a big school dorm. The meals didn't look too tasty. The rooms were really clean and nicely set up, but a bit tight.

My aunt, uncle, dad, and I visited this place twice with Grandma. Since she knows someone who lives there, it feels like the most comfortable place to go.
