"Mealtime Nightmare: Avoid This Assisted Living Facility!"
I give it a one star. During meals, one lady screams every day, making it impossible to talk! It's not good for people with memory problems, like dementia. Lots of folks stay alone in their rooms. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone else.

"Olympic Place is clean, well-kept, and has caring staff"
Olympic Place is a good option for assisted living. We chose it because it's close to home. It's clean and well-kept, not run-down. The size is bigger, which should mean a better social environment. If you're moving a parent here, be patient because things might not always go perfectly. Remember, it's a for-profit business run by people. Staffing is a problem everywhere, but Olympic Place employees seem to care about the residents.

"Room for Improvement in Management"
The place has awesome staff, but management could do better. There's a lot of staff changes which affect things. Management seems overwhelmed and there are problems with paperwork. However, the support staff, like caregivers and cleaners, are top-notch.

At Creekside, staff friendly, but communication with family needs improvement.

"Disorganized and Expensive Assisted Living Facility with Staffing Issues"
Don't go there. It's too expensive. They can't keep enough staff, and they're very disorganized. They changed the rates on us right away. Their billing system was hard to understand. When we moved in, the director had left, and the new person wasn't experienced. We needed expertise, but didn't have it. It was really sad. One caregiver was great, but overall, it was a costly learning experience. The place is big and old, and they don't have enough staff for all the residents.

"Friendly staff but staffing issues caused some problems"
The staff here are friendly and helpful, and we’d recommend it. However, they need more workers. Because of staffing shortages, we faced some problems with our loved one.

She likes everyday staff, but admin and care issues persist. Billing problems. Attractive place, limited inside visits.

"Affordable Option with Medicaid Help and Great Service"
We chose this place because it's affordable, and Medicaid will help later. Suzi was fantastic at reducing the costs. My in-laws are coming tomorrow to see if it’s a good fit for them.

"Wonderful care and comfort at Olympic Place—highly recommend!"
Here's the rewritten review and headline: Thank you to "A Place For Mom" for finding this wonderful community for my mom. She had to leave Brookdale Arbor Place because they couldn’t handle her care needs, which was stressing her out. My mom was on hospice, and time was critical when I reached out to A Place For Mom. The next morning, [name removed], the executive director of Olympic Place, called me and quickly helped us move my mom within a few days. We got a beautiful one-bedroom apartment with high ceilings and big windows. It was clean, bright, and cheerful. The staff went above and beyond to make my mom feel cared for, comfortable, and important. They respected her wishes and treated her with dignity. The whole facility is bright and nicely furnished. The food was great, with lots of options available from a daily menu. The dining room was beautiful, and the staff was kind and attentive. Management was always around and quickly handled any questions or concerns. It was a huge improvement from our experience at Brookdale, and the cost was $1,400 less than what we were paying for a small studio before. Words can’t describe how much it meant to our family to know our mom was safe, happy, and getting the care she deserved in her last months. Thank you, Olympic Place!

"Friendly Assisted Living with Some Delays"
My dad stayed at Olympic Place for a month. The care was good, but sometimes they took longer than promised to help him. The place was clean, meals were tasty, and most staff were friendly. Some younger caregivers seemed less happy. They handled my dad's meds well. The director and nurse were welcoming.

"High disappointment in assisted living facility's service, management"
My mom has lived happily at Olympic Place for over three years, despite her dementia. But, we've seen rate hikes which seemed reasonable due to her condition. But, her rent soon surged an extra $1000 per month. They emailed me incessantly over 3 days for tapping the extra charge, which had discrepancies that needed resolution. Later, I discovered an additional $1700 on her bills, despite receiving no statements. They claimed it was for extra care. A few weeks ago, they decided to move her again (a third-time move!). They promised the new apartment would be ready by lunch, complete with her wall hangings. What happened left me unimpressed: a room full of unpacked boxes and picture-less walls. Consequently, mom got confused and thinks she's moving out, repacking every day. My brother and I spent a precious visit unpacking her daily. We found weeks-old food, dirty clothes, and unpacked necessities amongst her belongings. Contrary to their promise, her rent didn't decrease by $600 as the new room was smaller. Worse, they claimed she needed more care due to her moving confusion, which was their fauld. The burden of their incompetence now lies with us. The food quality here is wanting, a point even my dear mom remarks. Once I ordered her a sandwich as she wasn't feeling well - it arrived overly late and was unpalatable. The ‘assisted living’ wing reeks of urine, an odor that hits your nose each time you walk down the corridor. Her apartment emitted an offensive smell, like a cat had marked its territory. They never cleaned up her old apartment as I'd repeatedly requested. Communication with the leadership is scarce. My emails often get ignored. Their guarantee of improval remains to be seen. Given a chance, I regret putting mom here. Unfortunately, the hefty non-refundable deposit and her possible emotional turmoil have kept us hanging. My grievances will reach the upper management. It’s very disappointing to feel deceived and lied to about multiple issues.

"Friendly Staff and Clean Community"
We like the friendly staff and other residents here. The staff helps us when we need it. The place is always clean. We get two meals a day, and the food is good, but not fancy. I’ve played cards and we’re going to try exercises soon. I thought a minister would come every week, but that’s not true.

"Hidden Charges and Unfair Practices at Bonaventure"
They quote a rental cost, then hike it by $850.00 for just getting up to Level 1. On top of that, they spring a $450.00 monthly fee for extra food - a fee they never mentioned until we wanted to elevate her to Level 1. Where does it say that in the contract's small print? The lady in the office isn't trustworthy. We requested copies of the agreement, but never received them. Beware, they might trick your loved one into paying more money. Don't let the attractive Arlington facility called Bonaventure deceive you.

"Beware: Deceiving Pricing and Poor Care at Assisted Living"
We recently had to move my dad from this place. Just like someone else pointed out, watch out for the ALF fees. My dad had a health problem and needed extra attention. When we had a meeting to talk about what it would cost, they tricked us about the price. We thought the numbers they gave us were the total cost, but it was actually more because it didn't include the rent. Cleaning was terrible. My wife and I had to take out the trash several times. They didn't even dust. Once, there was pee in the trash can and it stayed there for two days until we had to clean it. The new place where my dad lives now told us that some of the stuff my dad was being charged extra for should have been done by a nurse. That wasn't happening here. So, if you want your parents to live here, make sure you stay on top of things, or there could be problems.

"Staff Improved After Initial Issues"
When my family moved in, the woman who helped them wasn’t honest about a few things, so we didn’t have a great start. But she’s no longer there, and now the rest of the staff has been really wonderful.

"Food Quality Needs Improvement"
My mom's been here a little while. The staff is super nice and caring. The building looks great inside and out, plus there are fun activities. But, the food? Not good. My mom wants to move because she can't stand it. If you're picky about food, check it out first!

"Warm-Hearted Care with Average Meals"
They keep the place neat, and the folks there are nice. They do their best to make sure my family member feels included and is engaging in activities. The meals they prepare are like what you'd get in a school cafeteria and they seem to use a lot of canned goods. Still, this is the place that my family member picked and honestly, there are worse places out there.

"Nice place but watch the extra Assisted Living Fees"
We recently moved my mom into Olympic Place a little over a week ago. Things are going pretty well, but it's not perfect. Let me share my concerns: 1. Assisted Living Services Fees: Olympic Place has a scale of 1 to 5 service levels. Initially, we thought Mom would be at level 1 (the minimum service level), which was somewhat expensive but manageable. However, within a couple of days, they bumped her up to level 2 and then level 3, increasing the cost from $750 per month to $1600 per month. I don't believe she needs these additional services, and frankly, she can't afford it. I'm still working with them, her doctor, and therapists to lower her fees to a more reasonable level. 2. Mealtime Experience: Mom has complained that she's seated at a table where no one talks during meals. I'm not sure if it's because they can't or don't want to. Initially, we were told that management would seat her with people who share similar interests, but that hasn't happened. I've asked them to place her at a table with more lively companions. If meals are unpleasant, she won't want to go to the dining room. 3. Low Income Credit: Olympic Place offers a Low Income Credit for those earning less than a specific income level. Surprisingly, this option wasn't mentioned until I brought it up. Make sure to discuss this with them. On the positive side: - The place is VERY clean. - The staff is kind and helpful. - The apartment, though small, is functional. - There are plenty of activities for residents to enjoy. One unique feature: After 4 years, residents can continue living there even if they run out of funds and rely on Medicaid. That's why I chose Olympic Place. Unlike some other facilities, they won't kick her out if she depletes her assets.
