Patriots Glen Assisted Living & Memory Care

"Great Care and Friendly Staff at Patriots Glen"
My husband stayed at Patriots Glen Memory Care for a short time before he passed away. He got good care and the staff was very attentive. They had Physical Therapy and medical care available. The PT person even got him walking in the hallways, which had railings on both sides. The week before we moved him, he couldn’t walk with me, and we used to walk in the malls 2 or 3 times a week. There were classes and get-togethers for residents if they wanted to join and were able to. The food was very good and could be adapted for specific needs or allergies. Residents were encouraged to eat in the dining room if they could. I chose this facility because it was relatively small, with about 15 beds, 12 single rooms, and 3 double rooms.

"Friendly and clean assisted living with good care."
My family members lived at this place. The staff and building were friendly and helpful. They took good care of my loved ones. Because of Covid, they had strict rules, which was a good thing because neither of them got sick. My family never had any problems with the cleaning. Their rooms were always tidy when we visited. The only issue was that one of them wanted more Asian food since she's Japanese. Overall, I'd recommend this facility to others.

"Nice facility but could use more caregiver-resident interaction"
The memory care unit is nice overall. Most caregivers and nurses are friendly. I know it's tough work, and they are short-staffed sometimes, but I’d like to see more interaction between caregivers and residents. Some caregivers might need a refresher course on listening to my loved one or trying to understand what they’re saying. The meals are good, with dessert, juice, or milk. They are almost done with remodeling: they replaced carpet with hardwood in the halls and dining room, and painted new colors (except in patient rooms). The place looks very nice. They offer more activities for assisted living residents, but I think there should be more activities for memory care residents too. They need mental stimulation, like going outside to the fenced-in courtyard during summer. They also have a pleasant outdoor area with tables, chairs, and lots of flowers and greenery.

"Professional staff and 24/7 care, but higher fees."
The staff here are better than at other places. It's an older community with very professional staff. The initial fee was reasonable for us, but the monthly fee was higher than we hoped. They have nursing staff and a doctor available 24/7. Considering advanced care here is a good idea.

"Community Care Improves with Activities"
Our family member likes the community, and the care services are decent. They handled COVID outbreaks well and now offer more activities.

"Friendly and clean place with good staff"
While looking for a place for my dad, we found this one and are happy with it so far. The staff is doing a good job meeting his needs, and the smaller size of the facility makes it less overwhelming. The other residents are friendly and easy to talk to, which is nice. Sometimes you see someone sitting alone at a table for four, and you can join them. It's a very friendly place with lots of smiles and handshakes, which fits the older generation living there. The staff keeps everything clean and tidy, cleaning his unit once a week. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, and seems to know what they're doing. So far, so good.

"Unprofessional Caregivers, Doubtful Manager Taint otherwise Great Facility"
The caregivers here. They're impolite and frequently not proficient. Particularly their care manager, he's insincere and exhibits unprofessionalism. I have a feeling he's inexperienced in this field. But in his absence, this place could have been wonderful.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Tour"
The lady who showed my loved one and me around their community was super friendly and punctual. However, I felt a bit let down by her lack of knowledge about pricing and package options. Waiting for another person to contact us wasn't ideal.

"Great care and responsiveness, but email communication could improve"
Patriot's Glen has been really easy to work with and flexible. Whenever we've had concerns and called them, they've always gotten back to us quickly. They've been very patient while our family learns how to best take care of my father-in-law. They've also been really helpful when managing the sometimes tricky details of having a loved one in assisted living. One thing I’ve noticed is that their staff isn’t very quick with email responses. I’ve found that talking on the phone works better for getting things done. I also need to be proactive about my father-in-law's care and ask questions when things aren't clear. The good news is they respond quickly and have great records that reassure me his needs are being met. Lastly, the activities director does an amazing job of getting my father-in-law involved in activities he wouldn’t usually join.
