"Decent and Well-Kept Community"

I checked out this place for my dad. It was alright. Everything was in good shape and really clean. People working there seemed nice. I had a good time looking around.

"Caring Staff, Good Food, Hotel-Like Community"

This place is pretty good, but it felt more like a hotel than a home for my mom. The people working here are really kind and take good care of everyone. They serve tasty food and there’s a lot to pick from. I’d tell other families to check it out for awesome care.

"Nice, caring staff, hotel-like feel."

This is a nice place, but it felt more like a hotel than a community for my mom. The staff was very nice and caring. They had good meals with a nice variety to choose from. I would recommend this to other families for great care.

"Big and impersonal: Not as engaging as preferred. Felt hotel-like!"

The person who showed us around was friendly and knew a lot, but they weren't as interesting as the staff at the place we picked. The building was large, didn't feel personal, and reminded us of a huge hotel.

"People pay for a fancy 5-star experience, but they usually get service that's more like 2 stars. "

I've been going to Skyline every week for the last six months to help my friend who lives at the Terraces. But let me tell you, this place is way too expensive for what they offer. People pay for a fancy 5-star experience, but they usually get service that's more like 2 stars. The staff is friendly, but there just aren't enough of them (and they don't get paid well). As a result, sometimes they're late with delivering medications or cleaning rooms. The food isn't great either – too much processed stuff and not enough fresh fruits and veggies. It's like eating at a regular chain restaurant. They do have lots of cultural activities, which is nice. But the exercise classes are too easy – they don't help people stay strong and balanced. And there's not much effort to make residents feel like neighbors. If you don't try to make friends, you'll feel pretty lonely here. I wonder if they care more about making money than providing top-notch service and a good quality of life. They could use the money they make to hire skilled experts like nutritionists, chefs, and physical therapists. They've got outdoor space – why not create a big vegetable garden for residents? And how about having daycare for staff's kids to interact with residents? The possibilities are endless!

"Quality Lacking In High-end Assisted Living Facility"

I've been popping by Skyline every week for half a year to help out a pal living at the Terraces. This place costs way too much for what you get. People should be getting 5 star treatment, not the lackluster 2 star service they're getting. The folks who work here are nice, but there just aren't enough of them (and they don't get paid enough, either). That means medicines are often late (sometimes by up to 8 hours), rooms don't get cleaned on time (sometimes a day late), the food service is bad, and they're slow to respond when you need them. Most meals are full of canned or pre-made food, and fresh fruits and vegetables are a rare sight. The food's nutrition level is low, about on par with a chain diner like Denny's or Shari's. There are lots of activities like music and art, but the exercise classes are low-impact and don't do much to improve strength, balance, or flexibility. It doesn't feel much like a community here. If you don't go out of your way to make friends, you're pretty much on your own. I'm sure they're making a neat profit... but it seems like they're more concerned with making money than making people feel at home. Considering how much money they make, they could bring higher-quality staff on board. They could hire nutritionists and chefs, do more with their outdoor space (like building a garden for residents), and organize more social events.

"High Priced Warehouse"

Assisted living here is expensive and understaffed. There’s no central place for families to discuss issues with staff. The aides are nice, but oversight and assistance are lacking. My mom’s been here a year, and she can’t get her toenails clipped. Staff always says ‘not today,’ but today never comes. Food is decent, and the dining room staff are good. But overall, it feels like a pricey warehouse. I’m moving my mom soon.

"High-Priced Care Facility Falls Short on Assistance"

This care facility is way too pricey and they don't have enough staff. There's no place for families to meet with the staff to talk about any problems. The aides are nice people, but the 'assisted living' part is lacking: not much management, help or interactions. My mom has been there a year now and she's constantly asking them to trim her toenails. But the staff always say 'not today', it seems like that day never comes. The food is pretty decent, the team in the dining room is really good. But be clear, this place is like an expensive storage unit. I plan to move my mom out as soon as possible.

"Dissatisfactory Care for Dementia and Memory Loss Patients"

I wouldn't suggest this place for folks with dementia or memory problems. The workers don't really interact with the residents, only one or two activity staff do. There's also a clear communication issue among the staff. They seem to mix up medications. The design of the facility isn't user-friendly for residents who get confused easily as they have to use elevators to get to meals or activities. I don't recommend it.

"Unfriendly Staff and Unpleasant Smell at Assisted Living Facility"

I dropped by this place while searching for a residence for my 83-year-old mom, who can't seem to recall when to take her pills. The moment I stepped in, a less-than-pleasant smell hit my nose... I can't put my finger on it, but it wasn't fresh. Quite a few minutes passed before anyone bothered to say a word to me. The staff didn't come across as super friendly. Overall, I wasn't thrilled.

"Poor Experience, I Wouldn't Choose This for Mom"

I dropped by this assisted living center to find a safe place for my mom, who's 83 and forgets her medicine sometimes. Once I walked inside, it didn't smell too…well, clean or fresh. It took a while for anyone even to pay attention to me, and the staff didn't seem friendly at all. Overall, I was really disappointed.

"Facilities and Neighborhood Are Great, But Cost Concerns"

We really enjoy the facilities and the neighborhood. However, the cost might be too high for us.
