"High Staff Turnover and Declining Quality"
The place was good at first, but then it got worse quickly. There were too many new employees all the time, and the food wasn't that great. The biggest issue was the staff changing a lot and becoming unfriendly. The room itself was nice, though.

"Poor Communication at Assisted Living Facility"
My parents moved here in July 2023, and at first, things were okay. The food was good, and activities and services were positive. But after about two months, everything went downhill. There have been massive staff turnovers. The Chef left, and the menu options got smaller. They're always out of food choices, and residents don't get other options. Fresh fruits and veggies are scarce. Housekeeping is minimal—they vacuum and wipe down the bathroom, but sometimes they don't show up for weeks. Laundry isn't always done even though we pay for it. Lately, the bathroom toilet keeps running, and there's no hot water. A pipe burst, causing flooding. But the worst part? They don't communicate with residents. If you want answers, you have to ask the front desk, and calls to the executive director go unanswered.

"Mixed Experience at Meridian at Stone Creek"
My family member used to live at Meridian at Stone Creek, and our time there wasn't great. If you're considering this place, make sure they're actually doing what you're paying them for when it comes to taking care of your loved one!

"Decline in Cleanliness and Staff at Assisted Living"
In the past six months, this facility has changed a lot. It used to be really nice and tidy, but now they don't have enough people working here. Because of this, it's not as clean as it should be, and there aren't enough servers in the dining area. There's been a lot of new faces, and not many stick around. I'm crossing my fingers that things will start getting better here pretty soon.

"Mixed Feelings About Meridian at Stone Creek"
Certainly! Here’s the rewritten review in 8th-grade level American English: We visited Meridian at Stone Creek, but it felt too far. The unit floor plans didn’t impress us. However, the entrance, both outside and lobby, is lovely.

"Friendly staff, good lunches, but dinner needs improvement"
The staff here are really friendly, and I've enjoyed the lunches. However, dinner meals could use some improvement. It's nice to see more activities and a lot of options to choose from.

"Great Assisted Living Experience!"
My mother-in-law moved to Meridian a few years ago, and she's really taken to assisted living. She enjoys activities like bingo, crafting, and outings to plays and restaurants. I've eaten there with her about 20 times, and the food has always been delicious. They're even upgrading the dining room chairs!

"For-Profit Senior Living: Profits over People?"
I'm a Registered Nurse and my in-laws live here. There are two types of senior housing: non-profit and for-profit. Non-profits are generally about serving seniors, while for-profits need to make money, which can sometimes reduce residents' quality of life. This place, Meridian at Stone Creek, is run by a for-profit group named Pacifica. We've learned that profit-making often comes before resident health and safety here. They also prioritize profitability over staff payments and fair treatment. So, looks can be fooling...be sure to do your own research and ask a ton of questions when picking senior living. There's a big gap between non-profit and for-profit options. Talk to current residents and staff about stuff like how many residents and employees stay around, if the residents are happy, and if the staff feels supported enough by the leaders. Ask too about staff's training and education opportunities. Check with the Department of Health for any past problems the place has had. Finally, trust your gut feeling.

"Meridian at Stone Creek: Good but Needs Better Transportation"
This assisted living place has gorgeous outdoor surroundings, and we feel secure strolling about. They're making the food better, and ED is doing an awesome job. My biggest problem is the lack of easy transportation. We're really far from public bus routes, so the only ways to get anywhere (like the doctor's office) is by driving yourself, by asking for a ride from family, by hailing a cab, or by using the limited (and expensive) transportation service that's also offered here.

"Review: Limited Services and Activities at Assisted Living Facility"
TV - it's not great, it can't show all Direct TV options like "On Demand". Activities - not that great, they leave too much up to the residents. They don't have many choices for shopping - they only go once a week and you have to sign up. We're really far from other needed spots, like the pharmacy, laundromat, and post office. Families end up needing to help a lot, or you have to have your own car. Some people even had to pay to get places. They only do doctor's appointments on Wednesday and only within a certain area.

"Displeased Resident Reviews at Assisted Living Facility"
Constantly unclean elevators and floors, and unpleasant odors from communal bathrooms. Feels like a jail after 8pm. Its location is quite remote - not near any stores or outlets. The transport bus only accommodates 12 individuals once a week, which isn't sufficient. The range of recreational activities is scant too. Definitely not pleased living here!

"Beautiful facility with happy residents and excellent Memory Care"
This place is really beautiful. My husband and I were warmly welcomed and given a tour. We're looking into Memory Care for our Aunt. Everyone there seemed really happy and was interacting with both staff and other residents. The comfort level is outstanding. I wish I had discovered this place sooner. We’re excited for our Aunt to have a great life here.

"Lacks Knowledge and Warmth: Upscale but Not Welcoming Assisted Living"
We visited this place to see if it would be good for our family. The person who showed us around didn't seem to know much about the place, and couldn't answer many of our questions. Even though the community looked fancy, it didn't feel like the right fit for us. They had a nice menu, though. Maybe other families should check it out.

The people who work here are friendly and ready to assist. The food is decent, although it's not quite like homemade cooking. They organize a few activities, but sadly, the residents don't participate much. The place is spotless, and I have a cozy cottage. Overall, I'd suggest this community.

"Outstanding Care and Comfort in Meridian's Memory Care Unit!"
My father-in-law has been living in the Memory Care Unit at Meridian since April 2016. We checked out many other places and did a lot of research before picking Meridian for him. As a registered nurse, I have high standards for health care, and I have been extremely impressed with the care he has received. He’s been content, calm, and happy there. The Director of Memory Care and the caregivers are experts in handling dementia and always treat each resident with respect and dignity. William is a great advocate for the residents, and it’s clear that the care given is top-notch. Each resident’s care plan is customized and updated as needed, and they treat everyone like family. Not only do we feel at ease knowing our father-in-law is at Meridian, but we also enjoy spending time with him, even with his dementia.

"Exceptional care and family atmosphere"
My father-in-law has been in the memory care unit since 2016. We checked out many places and chose this one. I'm an RN and very picky about care quality. Our whole family is so impressed with the love and care he gets. His move went smoothly because of the great care. He seems content, calm, and happy there. The Director of Memory Care and the caregivers are very knowledgeable and treat everyone with respect and dignity. It feels like a family. The Director understands the residents and their families and is a great advocate for them. Each resident's care plan is personalized and adjusted as needed. We've grown attached to the residents and caregivers. Family and friends are encouraged to visit and have a say in their loved one's care. Each month, they have a family dinner for residents and their families, which is a special time to connect.

"MERIDIAN ASSISTED LIVING: A DISAPPOINTING AND COSTLY ORDEAL!"
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Don't even think about visiting this place. We checked it out on December 18, 2015, liked it, and gave a $2000 refundable deposit the next day. They didn't have a state license yet, but they promised it would arrive by mid-January 2016. They cashed our deposit check two days later. Then, Dwight told us on January 6, 2016, to give a 20-day notice at my dad's current independent living home. He assured us that my dad could move into The Meridian at the end of January. Unfortunately, things started going wrong on January 11th. The Meridian started messing around with the required paperwork. They kept asking for more documents: firstly a doctor's note (which we provided), then a statement from his current home health provider (which we also provided). Suddenly they conveyed doubts about handling his care. Moreover, the Meridian staff hardly ever returned our calls; we were always the ones calling them. Their customer service is appalling. For instance, one staff member would show attitude by rolling her eyes and whispering comments to make us feel uneasy. On January 15th, we had a meeting with the registered nurse. At that point, we still had hope for The Meridian. We left the meeting feeling positive. We were told that the State's inspection was scheduled for January 25th, and that my dad could move in 21 days later. However, my dad already had to vacate his previous residence by January 30th since it was already rented again. So we arranged a temporary stay at a hotel, all the while waiting for The Meridian to secure their license. Things took a turn for the worse on January 22nd. We called The Meridian regarding their license and my dad's admission, only to be informed that they had revised their assessment of my father's care. They stated that they would love for him to move in. Relief washed over us, albeit prematurely. Given the delay with The Meridian's readiness, we arranged for my father to move into a hotel on January 30th. We asked if we could move his stuff to his apartment at The Meridian ahead of time to avoid getting a storage unit. On January 26th, when trying to schedule an appointment to sign the lease, we were told that she was not available to sign the lease until February 1st. Turns out, the inspection was on January 27th, another miscommunication. When I showed up with the U-Haul on February 1st to sign the lease, seemed stressed out. She referred to my father quite rudely and questioned why we were moving his stuff in. I tried to stay level-headed, but I couldn't ignore the red flags. To add to the frustration, we learned they had failed the state inspection and would need several weeks to remedy the issues. I knew we had to cancel and find a new place, what a letdown. We officially canceled on February 2nd and asked for our full $2000 refund. Despite assurances of receiving it within two weeks, we were yet to receive it by February 24th. We had to give another $2000 deposit at a new place. All our calls for a refund were met with excuses. It's become evident that I might have to hire a lawyer to get it back. We understand now that The Meridian has been struggling to get their license for nine months and keeps failing their inspections. The parent company’s website doesn’t even have a phone number for their corporate office. This has been an exasperating waste of time and a lot of money. Don't be fooled by the sales pitch; the place looks great but you might never get to move in. We received an email from today asking for a review. Well, here it is. I intend to notify news stations and lodge a complaint with the State Department of Health.
