"Good Care, But Communication Needs Improvement"

The communication, transparency, and planning for resident care can be a bit off sometimes.”

"Friendly Staff and Happy Residents at Cogir at The Quarry"

We really like the Cogir at The Quarry because the staff is super friendly in both the Memory Care (MC) and other areas. The residents, whether they're in MC or elsewhere, look happy and are actively participating in what's going on around them.

"Communication and Truthfulness Could Be Improved at Cogir at The Quarry"

We think Cogir at The Quarry could get better at a few things they told us about when we signed up. It seems like they might not have been lying, but their staff could do a better job with communication.

"Caring Staff and Persistence Matter"

The activities director is awesome. She makes an effort to chat with my dad and invite him to events. The community relations team is fantastic. However, sometimes they don't respond to calls and emails quickly, which can be frustrating. My advice is to stay persistent. When we needed hospice care, the nursing director truly stepped up.

"Clean and Friendly Memory Care Facility with Attentive Staff"

Our family visited five memory care places and liked Cogir at the Quarry because it's clean and has a nice family room setup. We also appreciated having a Nurse there all the time. After staying three months, we're really happy with the kind staff and activities they offer. We suggested better food options for dental reasons. It would be great to have a family liaison, but overall, we're pleased with our choice and still think it's the best one for us.

"Inadequate Care at The Quarry Assisted Living"

My mom moved to The Quarry after being in the hospital. She had Parkinson’s and needed higher level care. They said they specialize in Parkinson’s, but I didn’t see much support. Updates on her condition often made me sad. The good: Mom liked the caregivers and the food in the dining room. The gym and swimming pool were also nice. The bad: It took a long time to get a care plan. Communication was difficult. Laundry mix-ups happened, and housekeeping was only once a week. Care got worse as Mom’s health declined. They couldn’t meet her needs and wanted to charge for moving her. She died before they found a room for her. The Quarry focuses more on independent living residents than those needing higher care. Staffing was inadequate, call buttons took too long to answer. If your loved one needs a lot of care, don’t choose The Quarry. Consider a smaller place where care is better. Make sure someone can visit regularly. I had to do a lot of Mom’s care myself every time I visited. Mom died. I’m glad to be done with The Quarry.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short in Care and Communication"

My Mom moved to The Quarry in December after leaving the hospital and not being able to live on her own. She had Parkinson’s and needed more care, so she was in a special area called the ‘ridge’. They say they’re good with Parkinson’s, but I didn’t see much help for it. Sometimes when they told me about Mom’s behavior, it felt like they were being mean to her because of her illness, which made me sad. The good things were that Mom liked the people who took care of her, she enjoyed the gym with a person named, and she thought the food was okay if she could eat in the dining room. But when they brought food to her room, it was always cold. She also liked swimming when she could go to the pool. The bad things were that it took a long time to get a plan for Mom’s care, and even longer for them to follow it right. We had a hard time talking to the person in charge of her care, though it got a little better later on. Sometimes they mixed up her laundry with someone else’s, and they didn’t always make her bed properly. They only used the towels they gave her, not the ones we brought from home. And they only cleaned her room once a week, which isn’t enough for someone who needs a lot of help. When I visited every other day, things were only good for about a month. After that, when Mom got sicker, the care got worse. When she needed help with bathing, going to the bathroom, or moving around, they said they couldn’t do it and didn’t have any rooms available for her. They even wanted to charge us a lot of money if we moved her out. Suddenly, they had a room available when Mom died a few days later. The Quarry is better for people who can live on their own, not for those who need more help. They focus more on people who can do things by themselves. There aren’t enough caregivers for the number of residents, and sometimes when you press the call button, it takes a long time for someone to come. If your loved one needs a lot of care, don’t choose this place. Look for somewhere smaller where they can get better attention. And if you have someone there, make sure to check on them often. I had to do a lot of things for Mom every time I visited because they didn’t do it for her. Mom died on. I’m glad we’re done with The Quarry.

"Active Living with Friendly Staff and Programs"

We’ve enjoyed our time here. Meeting people was easy, and the staff is friendly, helpful, and patient. Having on-site physical therapists and trainers is great, and the exercise programs keep us busy.

"Mixed Experience at Quarry Assisted Living Facility"

My relative stayed at the Quarry for a while and got good care. Some caregivers were excellent, but turnover in the memory care unit was high. The food service was hit or miss due to slow kitchen staff, especially . Communication with her was tough when residents needed things promptly. I'm grateful for one medication aid, , who went above and beyond, but she doesn't work here anymore. If they could keep caring caregivers, this place would be top-notch. , the executive director, was friendly and attentive, which impressed me given his high position. Overall, the Quarry has its ups and downs, but I still like it.
