"Outdated Facility Falls Short on Value and Space"
Certainly! Here’s the revised review in 8th-grade level American English: We felt the price was too high for an older, outdated facility. It reminded us of the '80s and didn’t offer as much as other places we considered. The staff was friendly, though, and they promised updates. However, the rooms felt cramped. We chose a different place with better features.

"Great location, good food, and friendly staff; wellness center lacking"
We chose University House Issaquah because of its great location and lively community compared to other places we visited. They offer different room sizes; my mom has a smaller apartment, but it works well for her. I've eaten here too, and the food is really good. The wellness center isn't the best part of the facility, but they've done a fantastic job keeping everyone active and connected during the shutdown. My mom loves the staff. I would definitely recommend it.

"Great people, but building needs updates and food is average"
The staff and residents are great and made our transition to this new way of living easier. The building is a bit old and could use some updates. The food is okay sometimes good, but not always excellent. Overall, I would recommend this community.

"Great Assisted Living Facility with Beautiful Setting and Excellent Dining!"
After searching extensively, we finally found the perfect place for my Mom. The cleanliness gets 4 stars, mainly because a large piece of furniture in the lobby smells like an old attic. I'm not sure if it's ever been professionally cleaned. However, the rest of the establishment is well taken care of and quite clean. The setting is beautiful. Activities also get 4 stars; while some other places have more, this one has an indoor swimming pool that makes up for it. My Mom loves using the pool. The dining experience stands out compared to other establishments. Their wonderful chef prepares the best tasting dishes. The layout of the one-bedroom apartment is better designed than most we looked at in the area.

"Nice place but not right for Cantonese-speaking residents"
We thought this place seemed okay. It was nice to visit, but we needed a community where most people spoke Cantonese and had a similar background. It wasn’t the right choice for my in-law.

"Great care and friendly staff!"
My mom has been there for about a year now. The staff understood her needs and helped establish a new ‘normal’ for her. The Front Desk Staff has been invaluable, providing information about my mom’s well-being during my visits. Challenges are expected in any large community, but the cleaning and maintenance staff handle them efficiently. I was impressed by their communication during a recent fire drill. The food is excellent, and the wait staff is patient and attentive. Great job overall!”

"Pet-Friendly Assisted Living Falls Short"
After a bumpy start, things are finally getting better. During the first two weeks, there were lots of mistakes. But after talking to the manager, things got clearer. The housekeeper knocked on my mom's door while she was getting dressed, but he didn't listen when she asked for a minute. Eventually, he left after coming into the room with his key. At first, my mom wanted to have dinner in her room, but she only got half of her meals. After talking to the food service manager, they fixed it. We picked this place because they said it was pet-friendly and dogs could be walked in the courtyard. But when my mom tried to bring her dog, they said it wasn't allowed.

"Great place but tricky location and not the best food"
University House Issaquah was great, but the location was tricky. It’s on a hill, and since my husband and I were still driving, that was a downside. Also, the food wasn’t as good as other places we visited.

"Good place to check out, but may not fit everyone"
This place was pretty big, and my mother-in-law didn't think it was right for her. It was clean, and the people were friendly. I’d suggest checking it out.

"Great community and caring staff make this place a winner"
I checked out many places in the greater Seattle area before choosing University House in Issaquah for my mom, who recently moved from Tucson. I’m very grateful to Liz and Albert for their help and patience. It took a bit over a year to complete the move. At 92, my mom was understandably nervous and unsure if we made the right choice. However, the move went very smoothly, and she quickly fell in love with her new apartment and the beautiful garden views from her living room and bedroom. New residents get a personal “ambassador” who introduces them to others, shows them around, and explains all the amenities. This is a wonderful program that helps newcomers adjust quickly. There are many daily activities that let residents feel a strong sense of community. They also often gather for dinner in the nice dining room, where the service is friendly and the food is delicious. The staff is caring and always ready to help. I especially want to thank the maintenance team for everything they do. We couldn’t be happier with our choice. Headline:

"Great activities, but a bit isolated"
I really liked this place. There are lots of activities, but it feels pretty isolated up on the hill.
