"Good Choice for Seniors: Woodland Retirement!"
My loved one lives at Woodland Retirement and Assisted Living. So far, things have been good for her. The staff is friendly, and the place is clean. Activities are enjoyable, but communication with the family needs improvement. Overall, I'd recommend Woodland Retirement and Assisted Living to others.

"Care staff good, but management and service staff need improvement"
My loved one is getting the care they need and has lots of chances to interact with others without worrying about being alone. The care staff is great—very responsive and quick to bond. The service staff is okay. Every place struggles to find and keep good staff, but Woodland has a small group of dedicated workers that helps make up for the lack of numbers. However, the management team is the weakest part. We’ve had trouble communicating with them and setting up a care plan and schedule. My family is concerned about how slow they are to answer questions. It seems like they don’t have someone to help new residents settle in and make sure their needs are met.

"Terrible Assisted Living Experience"
It was a really bad experience. I couldn't get my mom out of there fast enough! They gave wrong information, didn't follow through on anything, and the maintenance workers were clueless. The bathroom sink leaked three times, and the washer sprayed water everywhere because they didn't tighten the hoses properly. My mom was there for three months and never got a name tag for her door. They promised Wi-Fi, but it never worked, and they just said it was our problem. The new chef's food was terrible, and the halls were never vacuumed. I complained to management, but they didn't do anything or return my calls. Worst of all, my mom was taken to the hospital twice, and they didn't even notify me.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Experience with Poor Management and Communication"
I have a cleaner who's good, but the place isn't. The staff tries, but management stinks. They don't tell us important stuff, like when the elevator's broken. The food's awful, like it's for a kid, and we pay for meals we don't eat. Activities are sparse, led mostly by residents. The staff works hard but there aren't enough of them. It's too expensive for what we get. I like my apartment, but I wouldn't recommend this place. They promise a lot but don't follow through. Be careful before moving here, they hide things.

"Great care and lots of fun activities for residents"
The care here is great and reasonably priced. They have fun activities like book clubs, music sessions, and special themed weeks such as cruise ship week to keep everyone busy and involved. There’s always a long list of activities to choose from if you want to be active.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The food isn't great at all. It takes too long to get it, and it's never made right. The activities are fun, though. There's a great activities director who knows everyone. Things are getting better with the new director.

"Staffing Issues and Administration Problems Plague Assisted Living Facility"
My family member had a hard time with the people in charge. They thought they weren't getting what they needed from the place and the people running it. One time, all the workers left during one shift. The whole place didn't have enough staff. The food wasn't good, according to my family member and me.

"Avoid Woodland in Lacey, WA! Unhappy with services and care."
I'm really disappointed with Woodland in Lacey, WA. My mom has only been living there for less than 3 months. We're still waiting for them to put in new carpet and linoleum in her apartment. There's something floating in the water pitchers on the dining tables. We've told the managers about our concerns three times, but nothing has changed. My mom has three wounds on her back because they keep putting her patch in the wrong place and it's tearing her skin. And we've had problems with billing since day one. No one ever responds to us about our bills. They send us the bill on the second of every month, but it's due on the first, so we keep getting charged late fees. We're also waiting for them to adjust the rent because my mom was only there for 13 days in her first month. Sometimes they forget to give her medications or showers. It's really upsetting, and I would never tell anyone to go there!

"Very helpful and compassionate staff"
My family toured this facility and met the director. She was very kind and took the time to show us around and explain how everything worked. We saw two different model rooms, and they were both really nice. The kitchens were full-sized, and the food they served was delicious. We even got to order from a menu and pick exactly what we wanted. They showed us the game room, a kitchen for cooking classes, and we learned that residents can bring in family members to cook meals together. We also saw the second floor, which has an indoor walking path that circles around. Everything was clean, smelled good, and the residents were very friendly. They also have a library and a celebration room for the Eucharist, which was great since our family is Catholic. They even provide transportation to church on Sundays. We wanted to move our sister in, but unfortunately, we couldn't, though it wasn't the community's fault. This place was truly wonderful, and they went above and beyond for us.

"Spacious, Nostalgic Assisted Living with Cost Concerns"
I really liked this place. When you go in, you see lots of pictures of the residents when they were younger. It made me feel good. They even had little pretend shops in the halls. You could explore all over; it was really nice. It's big, open, and friendly. The only not-so-good parts are that it costs a lot and they don't accept Medicaid. But without thinking about the money, I'd tell my friends to check it out.

"Great Community with Friendly Staff and Comfortable Living"
My mom really enjoys living here. The staff is super friendly and quick to help whenever needed. They are kind, attentive, and easy to talk to. The community is clean, well-kept, and the temperature is always just right. The food tastes good, but it's usually not very hot. I would definitely recommend this place.

"Cozy Assisted Living: Friendly Staff, Clean Environment, Recommend Visiting!"
My parents have been at this place for 2 weeks now. The staff is super helpful, and the maintenance folks are also helpful. The building is clean, and even though it's not super fancy, it feels really homey and nice. I would definitely suggest taking a walk through to see if you think your 'old people' would like it here.

"Comforting Care with Compassionate Staff"
My mom stayed at Woodland for a short while. The people taking care of her, like the caregivers, nurses, and office staff, were really good at making sure she was comfy. They also kept me updated about her and worked closely with hospice. It was nice to know she wasn't alone when I couldn't be there. I wish she could've had more time to enjoy the activities and make friends, but her COPD was too advanced. Overall, it was a good experience, even though it was brief.

"Good Overall, But Needs Vegetarian Meals"
Overall, I'm very happy with Woodland by Bonaventure. However, I'm really disappointed that they don't provide vegetarian options for my Mom, even though they promised they would. This might mean she has to move to another place. If they fixed this problem, I'd give them a perfect rating!

"It Is What It Is"
Food could be better, though it has variety. Servers are friendly, office staff very good. Place is clean. We feel out of place since most people need assistance. Maybe we came too soon. It's hard to get acquainted since I'm not outgoing.

"Staff deserves 5 stars"
I'd give the staff 5 stars. The food is great. It's a perfect place for our loved one, and they have a great program. The first talk with the director stood out; she was very honest and I felt a connection with her. Everything she promised came true.

"Initial Elation Tarnished by Subsequent Disappointments at Woodland"
Woodland's Assisted Living: Great First Impressions Marred by Oversights." Woodland's Assisted Living maintains neat premises and the staff comes across as personable. Nonetheless, they failed to handle our resident's medication needs effectively; shockingly every prescribed medication was depleted. On some occasions when we required assistance, despite signaling, no one responded. Our quest for aid led us to the front desk. Their certified nurse resigned and we are unaware if they have appointed a replacement; none has introduced themselves so far. Although the tour provided a pleasant impression, the food served was cold and, apparently, complaints were made about it being disagreeable. The activity roster looks promising, but we have doubts whether our resident is engaged. We could have benefited from a comprehensive checklist of essentials before we moved in; they provided certain pointers but, we realized later, there was much more we had to figure out ourselves. Initially, we were quite pleased with Woodland, especially, the delightful open space and the congenial staff. However, these subsequent issues have dulled our enthusiasm.

"Great community, feels like home, friendly staff and residents."
Overall, this is a really good community, and they do a great job. The food could be better with more menu choices. The people are very nice, both the staff and residents are friendly. It's a great place, smaller in size, and feels like a home, not a facility.

"Not Very Convenient"
They've got some little cottages that many couples stay in. These cottages are right across from a grocery store, but they're not super convenient for walking to other places. There's a drug store nearby, but there isn't much other shopping.

"Fits my needs now and if they change, just need warmer food"
I'd give them 5 stars if the food were hotter. I talked to them about it, and they promised to fix it. The food isn't cold, but it's not really hot either. It's like cafeteria-style with lots of gravy and meatloaf. By the time we get the gravy, it's already starting to gel. If the food were hotter, it'd be more enjoyable. Overall, it's good, but there's a common complaint about the food not being warm. The activities are nice; they're starting a bridge club, but I'm not sure if we'll have enough skilled players. I'm younger than most here. We just started a book club, which I'm excited about. I think they're adding more activities now. I chose this place so I can stay in the same community if something major happens. My only real issue is the food temperature, but I'd still recommend it.

"Quality Staff and Clean Facilities, Second Choice for Assisted Living"
I really like this place. The people who work here are great, and everything is kept really clean. It's not my top pick, but it's definitely a close second. Just so you know, they don't offer long-term medical care, but they can help out for a while.

"Maybe House: Potential to Be Top-Notch, But Needs Improvement"
Review: 'Maybe House' is an okay spot for assisted living. It's beautiful on the outside for sure. The inside, while clean, could do with a splash of color and warmth. I will say their staff is good at what they do. Everyone's really friendly and they keep things running smooth. But their food is honestly just so-so. The activities they offer are pretty standard for such places; nothing stands out. Overall, it's alright, but there's room for improvement if they want to be a top-notch facility.

"Spacious and Safe but Depressing Lock Down Area"
The place is spacious and safe. There's a lock down area, which is pretty depressing but seems necessary. The single rooms in the lock down area are the size of a bedroom and have easy access to the shower. Shared rooms have shared bathrooms. There's a doctor on site who does an initial physical to decide if mom is eligible for Assisted Living or needs to be in the lock down area. Personally, I think putting mom in the lock down won't go well. The facility is beautiful, but the lock down area is really depressing.
